The Motorola Droid Turbo 2. Even though the phone has a 'shatterproof' screen, the phone can still break! The LCD can be damaged from drops even if the glass doesnt 'crack'. Plus... a few years down the road, and it'll be cheaper to replace the battery than it will be to buy a new phone.

thanks! i have zero techy skills and i used this to trade out the motherboard and battery from one with a broken screen to one with a broken battery/port...now i have one whole working phone and it only cost me a $4 bit. I owe you a beer.

Didn't remove the pressure ribbon for the power and volume buttons. I'm finding that when replacing my battery that mine was pretty jacked up. It seems to be a common issue on these phones as well.

Jerry, pitching in as well: before you bend the crap out of the 5mm moto z, please try the bend test with one motomod, i suggest the regular "style mod" since i read somewhere every moto z should come with at least one of them.
Hopefully the backplate will help with the bending load, and i hope the magnets hold.
What is the name of the black tape. I took it off from when I replaced the battery but now my cpu or gpu is overheating.
The two screws on the metal frame on the inside were a different size from all the others and do not work with a t3, t4, or t5. Any suggestions? this phone has been a huge pain in my ass ever since I made the mistake of getting a phone from Cellular Country.
I replaced the Battery. Then at boot up speaker did not work. Opened it up again to check everything. Now back together the power button is stuck in "ON". An help is welcome.

Could you explain where the internal cellular radio/antenna is in this teardown? after opening the phone to replace the loudspeaker, my cell network reception is atrocious. did i leave something partially or completely disconnected? Nobody seems to be able to tell where in the phone it is located. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I would love some help!

hello dear Sir there r two speakers on the bottom of screen the left side speaker is not working nd u saying tht this mic not speaker but i keep my finger on left side speaker or mic and call my friend nd opened loudspeaker but the volume remained same nd then i keep finger on right side speaker the volume was definitely reduced!

Mihir patel it survived a 1000 ft drop test! It may be a pain to take apart but it's worth the trade off. For me anyway.

Well, last three screws were impossible to take out, so my father and I drilled the screws, rendering the housings useless (but I mean, you have 15 other housings, so why not?). But the last one kinda went sideways, so I can't fully open the phone...
The Droid Turbo 2 was the last good looking phone from Motorola before Lenovo took 100% control.
I think the Moto Z looks really nice, especially with some of the decorative backs that eliminate the camera bump

Try it with some of the Moto mods, there's a leaked 'adventure mod' that wraps around the front and makes it waterproof, I wanna see how that holds up.

This happened to me too - That little wire with the tiny snap connections that look like very very mini blue jean snaps came loose. That's all it was for me.
I like the shatterproof screen, micro sd card slot and camera of this phone but is there a phone with comparable screen, card slot and camera that has a fast change removable battery?

So I have a Turbo 2 that has 2 issues.
1- Broken Charge Port
2- Left speaker is out
From my understanding of this video, I can't home repair either of these things?
Dama there is only one speaker on this phone, the right side one. Left side one is just a slot for designing purpose, not a speaker.

My turbo 2 won't charge with a regular charger or a wireless charger. Only had it 8 months.
I dropped my Droid turbo 2 on the ground and it no longer responds. after picking it up it turned on but quickly turned off. I tried plugging in the USB charger and doing a hard reset but both methods did not work. I want to save my pictures and videos on the phone. would you recommend me taking it to a repair joint?

My Moto X Pure doesn't like your video. If you have a Moto X Pure on hand, can you try to watch this video and see if the video part stalls around the 1:00 - 1:06 part while the audio keeps on playing. This video plays fine on my Turbo 2 but my friend who also has a Moto X Pure has the exact same problem. And he's on a different network. Wifi, Verizon, Metro PCS, doesn't matter. Uninstalling the TH-cam update doesn't fix it, nor does playing it from the browser.
After 2 years of drop test the camera is gone showing "camera is busy" time to open it up like a pro😊

the only major complaints I have about the moto x force (the international version of the droid turbo 2) ranked most annoying to least annoying
1: the version of Android SUCKS ASS, it is so restrictive, even iOS is more open than the version of Android Motorola ships with this device
2: non removable battery (why are we STILL doing this bullshit)
3: sooooo much bloatware (mostly Google and Motorola crap)
4: can't have 2 SIM cards and a memory card installed at the same time
5: lack of accessories such as battery extension cases
6: CPU and GPU is a bit weak
I don't know why but it seems like phone and laptop companies are REQUIRED by some unwritten law to always fuck something up when designing a product
if those 6 issues didn't exist
the phone would be perfect
why is it so hard just to make something that is perfect
why do they ALWAYS have to intentionally fuck something up
