I like both: prefer the Rav-4 for resale value and MPG/power, and prefer the Rogue for the interior/exterior modernism and style/confort.
Full disclosure, I own a 2021 Nissan Rogue SV AWD. That said, I found your comparison of both vehicles to be objective and fair. Each has their strengths and weaknesses. As you were driving, it seemed that, even without words, you were more comfortable in the Rogue. I like that horsepower is mentioned in reviews. To date, I've found the horsepower adequate in that it allows me to keep up with traffic, pass with confidence as necessary and merge in 401 traffic purposefully. Having done a 600 km day over the weekend to get some pies, I was surprised how fuel efficient it was, even with winter tires. As for the Pro-pilot assist, it's just that, an assistance device. It's not meant to drive the vehicle for you. It does the job, but the first few times I used it I would have appreciated a Gravol (from my old car sickness days). As for looks, from the front the Rogue looks happy to see you while the Rav4 has a face that reminds me of the late great Grumpy Cat.

The Rogue is way better. I like the RAV4 as well but this new Rogue is more outstanding even interior looks top of the line. The Rogue is the winner looked at some the other day at dealership wanted to buy one instantly. Nissan hit this SUV out of park seems not a fleet car believe that the Rogue going sale well see lot of previous generations on the road, so can imagine seeing the newer models hitting the roads.
Nissan Rogue is the most beautiful, the best and the most advanced in technology.

I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 210,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.
Easy choice. RAV4 hybrid, it also has all the rogue tech in America. 41mpg, 219 HP, High torque, silent quiet ride(hybrid), 11 speaker audio, spare full tire, better towing, lower trunk for easier loading, more cargo in the rav. Rogue has cool new tech but stillll doesn’t have rear ctb, full radar stop,

Nice video and I like both. And for interior space it sometimes feels different when you take off your coat. Because truth be told I don’t drive with my coat on. So I think the interior would feel different.

My big concern is that junk JATCO CVT Trans they use ?
Another concern is the lower resale value over the tried and true RAV4. Be honest !
I think if you are leasing, get the Rogue. If buying get the Rav4. I myself wanted to get a Rav4 but when I saw the Rogue with all the tech. and nicer interior I decided to lease a Rogue for 2 years so I can buy the next Version of the Rav4 when they will have more tech. features and nicer interior. Rav 4 interior looks dated and the camera resolution is not up to par.
If you care about how it drives get the Rav4. If you care about comfort and safety features and just want a car to cruise then the rogue is perfect.

Toyota offers stronger engine, better transmission, incomparable reliability and better resale value....I only like Rogue better for how it looks...
Aside from nissans cvt issue, the rogue is just way better in every way. If nissan got rid of the cvt, added ventilated seats, added a hybrid model and maybe a offroad trim, that would sell like hot cakes.
Good review & comparison. However, the potential flaw is that the RAV4 is the Hybrid model. I think it may have been a more fair comparison if it were the regular gas only model. Does the Hybrid RAV4 produce more HP than the standard gas model? Even if it didn't, the RAV4's electric motor gives instant power when you hit the pedal. This could give an unfair advantage in power delivery and response? I could be wrong? But that's just my theory here. Yes, acceleration & handling matters to me.

Great review. I like your candor. It seemed a bit biased toward the nice new spacious vehicle, until you tested its power but they are two very different engines.
I have a 2014 Rogue that has never ever let me down at any stop and go situation I find myself in. I really don’t need to be a sports car, but even with my 4 cylinder engine, I’ve almost always been able to outperform most vehicles from a red light. Having a new generation with so many upgrades is very alluring.
I’m almost ready to hand down my Rogue to my kid and was really looking to change flags and go for the Subaru Forester Sport. We just got a 2020 Outback for the Mrs., and it is fun to drive. But now, seeing the new generation of Rogues... I’m a bit torn. Can you compare the Forester (doesn’t have to be the Sport) with the 2020 Rogue?

Test drove the Rav 4 hybrid limited to see what the fuss is about and tech inside feels behind the compitition. Only reason I find people are crazy about the rave 4 is being the only suv offers the hybrid tech and toyota synergy drive is a great hybrid tech. I wont be getting on the bang wagon as rav 4 falls behind the compitition. Waiting for the rogue (xtrail in NZ) to test drive.
I bought 2021 Rogue SV instead of RAV4 because both the Rogue exterior and interior look better and I got more features for much less price

Just test drove rav, cr-v, rogue, and cx-5 in top models. Rogue for us was way ahead and I hate the 14 rogue we have. Higher quality interior, nicer layout, higher resolution screens/cameras, Heads up display, triple zone climate, power seats on both sides. The competition seems dated in comparison and is very small inside in comparison except for the CR-V (lots of room).
Never thought i would say the rogue has everyone beat at this price point right now. Wish the motor and trans were new with turbo but its acceptable.

Toyota hold up their value well and more reliable. Looks fade when you have to take a vehicle to the shop after a certain amount of miles. Nissan is still terrible when it comes to reliability.

Yea, with that transmission going out at 42k miles, that what you called better. I had the 2017 . Nissan transmission are junks.
Right now my wife have the rav4 hybrid, better then the rogue and the rogue have bad value, imagine having it for 3 years with 42k miles , we had the SV trim with all tech . After 3 years that shit was only worth 14k, bought it 30k. Lose 16k in 3 years .
