I agree with this assessment. The Rogue definitely wins, which is amazing considering that you didn't compare apples to apples trim levels. The Rogue SL compares to the Rav4 XLE. Then you would've had the 3-zone climate control, fog lights, memory seats and much more. Also, you mentioned that the Rav4 has the tap pad to unlock the doors, but the Rogue has keyless entry on all 4 doors, so I think that's actually more useful. Great video guys!
The RAV4 has earned a stellar reputation for quality and dependability. But it is hard to deny the above class-avg refinement, cabin appointments, and features that Rogue brings(and remember, this is just an SV Premium: There are two higher trims above it). Nissan clearly understands the heart of the class, and offering a refined and quiet driving experience will go a long way. While I will never be a CVT fan, Nissan is largely successful here because they know their target demographic will rarely floor the accelerator of the Rogue, making the CVT a non-issue. You can't go wrong with either, but having recently driven both, Nissan's attention to detail and added polish can't be ignored.

Rogue deserves 1/2 point for cabin quietness. The 3dB increase by the Rav4 translates to twice as loud. We each have our own preferences, likes & dislikes.

depending on what trim you are looking for (basic, mid, fully loaded) all 3 have their differences but i would personally choose the rogue because it just seems to have more options at the lower price point, meaning it would have more going up the trims.

I’m Toyota fan but must say Nissan done amazing job in Rouge It will give consumer hard time to choose one in between
22 more hp and 8spd conventional auto trans, made the decision for me.
Rogue deserves 1/2 point for cabin quietness. The 3dB increase by the Rav4 translates to twice as loud. Importance depends on whether you want to sit in quiet contemplation or play music or carry on a conversation. Same could be said of many of the comparison points. We each have our own preferences, likes & dislikes.
It also deserves another point for tech and driving assistance features, because it has features that the RAV4 doesn’t offer.
@@rafaelg9016 You can't beat Toyota Safety Sense.
@@andybub45 you can beat Toyota Safety sense with around view monitor, rear automatic braking, all the safety and driver assistance standard in all grades, a head up display. Blind Spot alert and lane departure assistance even in the base model.
Nissan safety shield on the Rogue beat the Toyota safety sense buddy! 😉
@@rafaelg9016 Toyotas safety systems are more refined and better all around. It may have more but they are not as good.
Looks like almost everyone here would go for the RAV4. Better for me because I don’t want what everyone and their mom drives. I don’t plan on keeping it for more than 50,000 miles, so I’m set. The Rogue looks more grown up and sophisticated than the RAV4. Haters gonna hate!

Rogue for me but let's see if the new Tucson can change that!
I had 2013 nissan before , Now I switched to Toyota Rav4 2021,beacuse of transmission breakdown They have transmission problem in their most models like altima, rogue, morano ,compared to any other branded cars Generally transmission breakdown after 2 to 3 years of use in Nissan cars Im not alone telling , Ask any transmission(CVT) mechanics about which car having highest transmission problems?
Thinking of purchasing a rav4 but can’t decide between the XLE or the XLE premium. What are your thoughts?
Premium
Go for Adventure model in Lunar Rock
if price isn't a problem and you plan to buy and keep it long term, get the premium.

just got a Rouge ...pearl white and light leather interior ..looks amazing drives like a dream . looked at the rav 4 and it didnt even come close to stlye. Rogue destroys the rav 4 .
If Nissan offers a traditional Automatic Transmission, most likely I would consider it.
You know stupid nissan vehicles have the unreliable cvt transmission. And that’s their downfall.
I would still rather have the Rav4. I'm not a fan of the 2010 like styling of the Rouge, and no matter how much they update that CVT, I won't buy any vehicle with a Jatco.
The style of the Rogue is a lot more modern and with more purposeful
@@rafaelg9016 it looks like other crossovers though. I like the Rav4's aggressiveness. But to each his own.
I think the .5 points you awarded to the Rav 4 for towing capacity if redundant when you also gave the Rav 4 an additional full point for more horsepower.
Just one thing to add, this Rogue's trim level does not come with fog lights, but the higher trims do
The only way I will drive Nissan again, if it rental car , not putting my hard earn money on junk.

The rav4 is the most ugliest Car I have ever seen I swear luxurious are much better than normal car's the rouge is more quiet then the rav4 which is more better the rouge has a hidden shade on the window the rouge is soooo much bigger and the rouge has more head room and more leg room then the rav4 the rouge has a huge sunroof but the rav4 has a small sunroof the rav4 has hard plastic at the door but the rouge has soft touch leather at the door the rouge has key start but the rav4 has no key start + the rouge is much more cheaper so the rouge wins
As a victim of Nissan's crappy transmission, I wouldn't quite trust anything Nissan has to offer. I would let a few model years go by to assess the reliability of their new models.
We’ll have to wait 5 years and see,
rav4 wil last longer +10points
+0,5 points maybe.
Reliability is important if you’re buying these cars used after 10 years but for most people that will buy them new reliability isn’t important since most people won’t keep them long term

Wow, Nissan really stepping up the game!
Well they been, but the only game people want them to step up is their reliability, they don't have that
Excellent comparison
It's the CVT that kills it for me.... Rav4 looks more attractive on the outside imo also. Both great vehicles nonetheless 🙂
Thank you for this informative video, wow very timely !!!
Glad you enjoyed! 👍
$2,000 on a $35,000 car is not a huge amount, especially for 10 to 20 year ownership as is normal for Toyotas.
should have done a sl rogue then the rogues margin of victory would be greater
Car reviewers wouldn’t have much content if they didn’t base most things on cool features and performance. They choose to ignore that most people(if they’re rational) put reliability and resale in the top spots when choosing a purchase
rogue platinum looks like an audi q5 toyota is not even close. rogue has pro pilot. panoramic sun roof. 9 inch screen. digital display behind the steering wheel projector on the windshield. more luxurious interior, electronic power shift, heating in the second row of seats, air conditioning control in the rear row of seats, smart key in the 4 doors. apple car play wireless. As someone who is trying to sell a Nissan product that is just randomly giving issues (fuses) and a transmission that had to be replaced under warranty... I'd suggest saving yourself a few bucks for a wrecker in the future & get the Rav4.... The driving dynamics is really good...the engine is powerful, and if you're trying to sell it in the future or keep it forever, you won't go wrong.... @@asdfghjqwertyu1858 Me neither but since there's a quite a few big change happened in recent years like taking down and went after their corrupt CEO who's been cutting the cost and stealing money from everywhere to fulfil his personal lavish lifestyle, Nissan is trying to rearrange the things and fix the damages and this new JATCO is part of that revival process. In regards to the remote start. Not sure if the RAV4 premium package has the same setup as the RAV4 Limited. On the Limited there is remote start, however it doesn't have a designated button. Buy whichever if you aren't keeping it for long, otherwise pay 2K more and buy Rav4. You will spend way more than 2K saving on repairs with Nissan. You are lucky if problem arise during warranty period but Nissan's problems will magically appear after warranty expires. It doesn't matter how quiet or newer tech Rogue has, the "average" quality between two is not even worth comparing. Fair comparison would be Nissan vs Fiat.

I have crv and wanna upgrade to 2020/2021.. what do you think I should go for Rav4/Rogue or CRV? Plz help!!
CR-V is good but Toyota is offering more features, complimentary service and strong resale value compare to Honda. Only go through dealership loan if they offering low interest otherwise go through local credit union
Go Rogue, it offers more than the others, more tech, more practicality, more premium driving dynamics, more premium interior, more driving assistance features, more convenience and comfort features.
You can check by your own and you’re going to see that actually Nissan Rogue offers a lot more.
depending on what trim you are looking for (basic, mid, fully loaded) all 3 have their differences but i would personally choose the rogue because it just seems to have more options at the lower price point, meaning it would have more going up the trims.
Wait for the new CRV or get new Tucson that is coming out soon, or Forester when it gets refreshed with 2.4 Turbo.
As they stand, the Rogue offers the most tech for the money and, for the class, a very premium interior second to only the Mazda CX-5. But test drive them for yourself. You know what suits you better than anyone here.
14:38 The Rogue does not beat the RAV4, what are you thinking?
Rogue ends up being cheaper than rav4 & that price difference covers the maintenance. I personally hate wheels over 18" size. So, I would actually pick the rogue.
Sadly no points were given to the Rav4 for reliability, cost of maintenance and much better resale value. The Rav4 should have received at least 5 points for this which would make it a runaway in favor of the Toyota. The only way I'd ever drive a Nissan is if it was a rental or courtesy vehicle.
You can’t say something about reliability because Rogue is a brand new vehicle.
@@rafaelg9016 very true but I won't buy a Nissan as a whole until they prove they are reliable which would take a few years before I can trust them.
