  • Is the army woke AF ? How's the Ukraine's Counter Offensive going? What about Trumps secret documents? we solve the worlds problems like a couple of lower enlisted dummys.
    wokeism in the military is a major problem especially within the pentagon us department of defense. general milley got in trouble for it recently. marxist idealogy could be destroying the us army. ukraines counter offensive might be in trouble with m2 bradley getting destoryed on video. russian forces and their defensive in souther ukraine might be too strong. trumps marlago documents got him in hot water. those top secret classified docuemnts on allies nuclear capabilities were in his house.

      Oh and keep in mind that POTUS has the authorization to decide what is classified and declassified.
      Compare that to Senator and VP Joe Biden who removed significantly more classified documents during his time as Senator and VP, despite having NO authority to do so... AND storing them strewn all around his garage (with the door open), next to his hot wheels...
      Oh and Hilary "Bleach Bit" Clinton, who intentionally skirted around rules and regulations concerning email serves etc. so that she could hide her corruption and crime, AND disregarded a subpoena to hand over her emails, by erasing servers and having phones smashed with hammers. Things got interesting when the police found Clinton emails on Anthony Weiner's computers (his wife was Hilary's assistant).
      Fun fact. China hacked Hilary's emails, so who knows how much compromising material they have on her. Also, as result of the hack, China was able to identify and kill pretty much every US intelligence asset operating in China, which they did over like, the course of a day, and everyone was shocked at how they did this... it was 'cause they had all her emails.

      I don’t think USA tricked Russia into attacking Ukraine. If anything Russia was desperate to get of hold of Crimea because of never freezing port of Sevastopol. And when they managed it back in 2014 with no problem…. (Bla bla about NATO not reacting) they (Nikolai Patrushev and putler ) decided it would be easy fight. Well they committed to fighting and now they can’t find way out. Maybe internal fighting (prigožin,….) will give them excuse to ,, concentrate,, on problems in Russia, fingers crossed 🤞

      @superdog1964 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What you are saying makes a lot of sense and would be a good idea IF the KA52's were operating closer to the front. Those choppers were 11k or more behind the lines as their ATGM's have the ability to strike UA armor at a very long distance and even the German Gephards wouldn't be able to hit them.
      Since the Bradly's nor the Leopard 2's have any type of radar, they were probably not even aware they were being hit by aviation assets. You can't shoot something you can't see? I doubt that even MANPAD's would have worked. Moving their intermediate anti air defense assets closer to the front lines may be the only option?
      That may create more problems than it solves though, as it would make it an easier target for the enemy and stopping drones and missiles are perhaps more of a priority at this point. I hope they come up with a solution ASAP!

      the other Bradleys came up to rescue the stranded soldiers hiding behind the disabled vehicles from fire.
      It was mines, artillery fire, and probably also rifle fire. Primarily mines. No idea if arty came before or after but based on the mix of videos, there was likely an artillery strike while they were advancing. But none where the main column got stranded because there's no craters nearby. They had two BRM-2 mine plow to clear the path but they both probably was hit by ATGM or RPGs causing the entire column to halt. And the second Bradley retreating then hit a mine.
      Mine plows aren't 100% at clearing mines, demining is a multi-step process and very complex. Most modern military prefer to use MCLCs which are these rockets that pull a long tube of explosives to detonate mines as its primary clearing method. Dozers and rollers are like a reassurance for leading a column in case the initial methods missed anything. You also want to do this under smoke coverage with enemy suppressed by artillery fire. All in all, Ukraine lacked sufficient demining assets and artillery cover in this assault. They also lacked SHORADS and SPAAG to counter attack helicopters which we seen footage of them hitting Ukrainian columns.

      He earned that back with how he handled the months after, up to amd including:
      Preventing a war with Iran
      Keeping the DoD politically neutral
      Pushing back against Esper when he started describing American Cities as "the battlespace" when Trump was pushing to have US troops on American streets, busting American heads.

You know that is suggesting he ordered an attacked on Iran+China which is not true and very inappropriate of you to spread such misinformation. Deconfliction is common in the US government, to prevent accidents, and because it allows the US military to poke and prod other countries such as Chinese airspace. I think he has harmed the image of the US military by appearing partisan, he knew exactly what he was doing by butting in to a question asked to Lloyd Austin about Critical Race Theory being taught at West Point, he knew exactly what he was doing and it was for politics. The fact he did all those interviews after Trump left office was all for politics. The fact he threw Biden under the bus for the chaotic retreat from Afghanistan was politics. I also know that Miley was on the phone with his Chinese counterparts who were quietly going apeshit on Jan 6th because they thought we were having a coup amd were going on alert, as they had no clue what would happen next.
      He told them that we were not going to attack, and that we were getting our shit together. Was that technically overstepping his authority? Sure. Am I glad he did it? Also sure.
      As to the post Trump stuff, I didn't think there was anything wrong with his congressional testimony. I think he gave a reasonable and honest answer to questions regarding a fraught issue. If we're talking about the hearings related to extremism in the military in 2021.

    Cappy, one thing I really appreciate about you is that you take a look at both sides, *but with a critical lens.* I don't think you did that second part with woke in this episode.
    6 million man-hours is what, an hour or 2 a year per member? I spent more time picking leaves outta a gravel pit than that. Acting like that one or two classes is getting in the way of training is something a person who's never even seen a military base would think, and I hold you to a much higher standard than that!
    Acting like people will be demoted for saying the wrong thing feels off too. No one is gonna get busted down for thinking taxes should be lower, or throwing a couple spicy memes in the squad group chat. You might catch a counseling if it's something that crosses a line, but it would require some serious effort, consistency, and negative effect to require a demotion. Joking "damn Morales I thought you'd be better at this your family has a history of getting over walla" at PT is a very different thing than putting "I think all Mexicans are evil rapists and should leave or we'll kill them" Every time someone vaguely brown does a crime in the country.
    The argument about preferential promotion is the only real valid argument, but your friend (forgot his name sorry!) Correctly pointed out that it would require an overhaul of the entire promotion system, which isn't being seriously suggested by anyone.
    Politicization of the military is only really happening because of the right wing backlash to woke concepts. There's nothing political about the FACT that certain demographics typically face different/more challenges than others. Increasing the understanding of our teammates lives builds trust and understanding, which directly helps readiness.

      The US has a systemic issue with their supply lines. A lot of America production capacity, you know that key element to winning WW2, has been shipped overseas. If we went to war today, it would take many years to get production up to speed. The Navy in particular is hit hard by this. Domestic shipbuilding is declining, so when the US Navy goes to order new ships, they take longer to design and build and the quality is bad resulting in brand new ships actually cracking at the seams and being decommissioned in a matter of years, not decades.

      @Justanotherconsumer A good point but a few things: the army met its retention goals in 2022 and 2021 as well as this year. Economy was still running hot for part of that. Even parts that deploy much more often like army air defense have 100%+ retention. The military personnel interviewed suggest it has to do with allowing more flexibility in where you are based. Which ever it is, the army is doing studies to determine what are the most important factors influencing retention.

    20 years in the military and "woke-ness" is really not a problem as much as the culture backlash. On the ground level, what is most important is developing yourself as the best Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine you can possibly be and supporting your team(s) the best way you can. That is first, second, third priority... and was and is the priority for the past, present, and future. if you believe otherwise and prioritize being a culture warrior then you would be better off in one of the mall-ninja militias around the country. The military has never been separate from politics.
    You read any strategy book you will see statements that read ala "The primary goal of the military is to take political goals and make them into military doable tasks" or similar. Point is, the military has mostly held conservative values before and conservatives have seen no issues with that, but as soon as more liberal views are also tolerated. Suddenly there is an issue. Conservatives are hypocrites and every 6 months they make up a new word to deflect from real causes. Be it "war on xmas", "woke" or similar. Heck, most people cant even define woke because in reality woke just means anything a conservative dislikes, because they are the only ones using the term.

    The main issue of the "woke" military is that in the last four years, it has created a force of victims. I deal with all four branches fresh out of basic training and this is the least combat ready military I've seen. These kids come into tech school with no bearing or discipline and when, god forbid, someone tries to correct them, they claim to be targeted in someway which is then reinforced by Command. Now you have NCOs who refuse to make decisions out of fear of not being supported or undermined. All this has made for weak NCOs and in my opinion, Senior Leaders who have lost sight of the mission of our military.

      Honest questions: Do you think there are other reasons and factors that might influence how combat ready the US military is? And couldn't the last thing you said also apply to people in the military who are "anti-woke" and that this kind of discrimination goes both ways (I don't know what part of the military considers themselves as conservative, but I imagine it's a substantial amount)?

    • @orygun9mm761
      @orygun9mm761 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nelsonmeier7861 Fair questions. Without a doubt, it all comes down to recruiting. All branches are having difficulty filling their recruitment goals. This is especially true for the Army. Senior leadership has decided to step back discipline in hopes of using that to attract potential recruits who are undecided on enlisting. As for the "anti-woke", I don't think the NCO's view themselves as much as discriminated against. They resent to have to follow orders that hinder their task to make sure these young troops and trained properly and combat ready.

    I think an average militaryman should do construction work. It is a great capability to have in peace time, war time, and personal carrier. A lot of military facilities in the States are in disrepair and the militarymen stationed there do nothing about them. If they are ordered to learn and repair those facilities, it saves the taxpayers a lot of money, improves the health of the militarymen stationed, and cultivates useful skills for those militarymen for the civilian life to come. The Roman soldiers were both fighters and builders. Imagine some troops are deployed to an active warzone for defensive task. Some of them can fight, while others can build defensive fortifications. That's exactly what the Romans did. They built fortifications or siege equipment under enemy fire.
