      With the stock axle backs an xpipe or Switchfire makes them sound tinny. Switch out to a Borla S type, ATAK and the sound is amazing.

    Both sound crazy-sexy. They are both great for different reasons so I can see why someone would want either one. What I liked is the look of the metal after your track day. Going from the usual metal color to the blue/purple is pretty sick.

      Like any good X-pipe, the Switchfire makes it sound like you are revving higher than you actually are.
      Admittedly, the sound is more extreme than the average X-pipe, as well.

    How about drone at highway speeds comparisons. I do want the X-pipe but not if you can't hear yourself think while driving at a constant speed whether town or open freeway. My car is a 2015 with stock res and a Ford Performance 2015-2917 Mustang GT 5.0 mufflers and no drone. Just an intake mod is about it so far. I saw another video where he had active exhaust and always had it on track mode. It was hard to hear him talking over the drone with this Borla Switchfire X-pipe. So I am not sure if the stock muffler on his car made that big of a difference between the lowest and the highest mode sound. I think your comparisons were great too. American Muscle does not have any sound videos of this aftermarket piece so far that I know of. Birthday in August so would make myself a nice gift and very easy to install too! Thanks for doing the work.

      Thank you I appreciate the comment ! Quiet mode is super quiet when the engine is warm and you're not WOT you can't even use the engine sound to shift, I use it on phone calls when the sound quality isnt great. Normal mode is quieter than the 2014 gt I had with an aftermarket axle back magnaflow (street version so not very loud). Sport mode is almost the same on the highway with speed maintaining throttle but if you go up a hill or just any kind of throttle is pretty loud. Track mode is loud all around, great to pass cars when they are left lane driving 😂 the 2015 wouldn't be active exhaust then so having no control on the magic valves it would be quite a bit louder especially when cold !

    New 2022 Mach1 HP owner here. Im thinking about my Active Exhaust options to comply with racetracks that have noise restrictions. One of the options Im considering is replacing the stock resonator with two Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator bottles. Other option is keeping stock resonator and trying to fit regular Vibrant resonators behind it. Other option is an H-pipe combined with ultraquiet vibrants. Last option is magnaflow mufflered x-pipe for all-in-one is another Although I love the stock sound, I want to avoid getting kicked out of HPDE events when I use the Mach1 at W.O.T. Ive read that some M1 HP owners just pulled the AE fuse while the engine is running in AE quiet or normal mode, before pitting out on the track. Any suggestions?

    • @5.0_revhead54
      @5.0_revhead54  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The cheaper way is definitely to pull the breaker, especially if you dont get harassed for noise at every track. All the other options you mentioned will change your sound the rest of the time too... For me the sound is very important on my daily drives as well !

    • @dcaron9999
      @dcaron9999 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@5.0_revhead54 Dont get me wrong - I do love the A.E. system, the stock of the stock exhaust system, and also how easily you can control the sound the coyote makes. The option to pull the fuse has one major drawback, and that is the back pressure I would create when running the engine hard. There are risks to damaging the engine as the heat from exhaust gases have more restriction .... Take a look at this sharp video demonstrating how the ECU reacts and continuously controls the A.E. valves, depending on throttle input and mode selected ... th-cam.com/video/MmFxQt-_63E/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared

    Getting rid of the shitty Ford resonator a must getting the gimmicky switchfire is just that "a gimmick" sounds EXACTLY like a normal X or H pipe just another way for Borla to rope people into more money. Honestly it's so bad I can't hear a difference between it and the Stock form 🙄

    • @5.0_revhead54
      @5.0_revhead54  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm saying this in the most honest way possible but did you try a good pair of headphones ? It'a already challenging to pickup an exhaust sound with a microphone especially the difference in loudness. You can hear the stock is more of a dry low frequency, no resonance. With the switchfire, the sound resonates more and has a two tone sound (a dominating typical v8 low growl) with a background high pitch note. Thats the best description I can give you. To say they sound the same means the video doesnt do it justice then !

      Shops do this they make their dyno read high so people think they have factory freaks or something. They're in the business of trying to make happy customers.

      When you step on it yes definitely. Under 4k rpm thought its very smooth and melodic. Sounds like a "chord" theres like a deep sound mixed with a little high pitched flute, my ears thank me everytime

    In order to have 477 at the wheels crank would be almost 600 lol. I would not trust anything this dyno shows you. Nice car tho.

    • @5.0_revhead54
      @5.0_revhead54  ปีที่แล้ว

      The mach 1 is actually extremely efficient when it comes to drivetrain. Steeda reported 15% percent loss on the 10r80 from the engines to the wheels so the manual is more likely to be around 11-12%. That being said 477whp with 11% loss would be 536 at the crank which seems a little generous indeed. The dyno is more for the before/after difference than the actual number !

    • @cerwilliamyatesjr71
      @cerwilliamyatesjr71 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@5.0_revhead54 every source I've ever seen reports about 15% loss with manual and 20% with auto. The Mach is consistently doing about 410 at the wheels with a manual. That being said if the power data is wrong for baseline numbers then any power number that's a gain will be wrong. In the end none are probably 100 percent right, but I'm always suspect of something showing that much of an increase.

    • @5.0_revhead54
      @5.0_revhead54  ปีที่แล้ว

      @cerwilliamyatesjr71 even the fact that I wasnt on the factory tire diameter makes a difference on the dyno just consider the hp % change and thats pretty accurate, look at it as 2% gain and not 8hp and you'll be fine. You know it makes more power than that factory resonator with all the holes and fiberglass creating turbulence in there. Are you that skeptical that an xpipe can increase hp in the range of 2% over 5k rpm ?

      They sound killer when they're done right. S197 5.0s sound better it's the exhaust routing. If I drove a Chrysler 300 I'd be hating on coyotes too you prob got that smoke from a bunch of em.
