Making a paste of water and baking soda is great for removing adhesive. I use that for removing labels on jars to reuse them. 🙃

How is you Kallex holding up? Have you thought about or had to brace the middle portion since it is no on the floor?
Hey, great video, i loveee the colour!! :) I have also put legs on my Kallax and noticed, that the middle was sagging after a bit. So I would recomend to put a leg or something for support in the middle :)

might had fit better against the wall behind it if you set it on its side , wouldve meant fixing tnhe screwholes for the legs though
I love that Dixie Belle color. I am curious if you had/have any regrets about painting it? Did you have any issues with paint chipping? Is it holding up well?
What about the paint resistance to abrasion (from water or things placed)🎉
The wax is water resistant once it cures!

Hey! It's been a year since you painted your kallax and I would love to know how is paint holding. I'm also thingking about painting mine with Shalk Paint but I'm a little bit eskeptical of no putting primer on it. Have a nice day!
Haven’t had any issues! The Dixie belle paint is holding g up great
Love this idea. But how does it hold up over time without having sanded it down first? I've painted similar things with a coat of paint and they looked great for a few months then the paint started peeling and bubbling :/
I haven’t had this issue with high quality chalk paint!

Hi Rose!! I actually got them at a reclaimed lumber/ thrift hardware store. They are vintage and quite random. But there are lots of good furniture legs on Amazon, Etsy and eBay!

I noticed you didn't sand or use a primer. Can you please update us in a while and let us know how it holds up?
Sure! Chalk paint doesn’t need a primer or sanding in order to adhere. This was a shinier surface so I could have done a scuff sand. But it’s been probably 3 weeks and so far no issues. I would only ever prime if there was wood stain underneath that I thought would bleed through. Hope this helps!
No primer? Can we get an update on how well the paint stayed on? I can imagine that a solvent-free paint would not stick to the glossy finish, as you stated at roughly 4 minutes in.
It did great! Chalk paint and mineral paint don’t need primer. A good cleaning and scuff sand is all! I’ve been pleasantly surprised

Good job replacing the generic glossy finish with that luscious duck egg color and warm waxy glow. The new feet elevated it as well in more ways that one. Congratulations on turning the lucky shelf left behind into the treasure it was meant to become.

You could have saged it to get the ‘ex’ energy out of it. I have this same piece in brown/black and didn’t paint it but did put wheels on it instead of legs. Full disclosure: I put wheels on everything!!
Haha! You know, one of the colors I considered was "sage" haha maybe I should have gone with that!! :) Wheels are fun -- where do you source your wheels from?
