Ridicolous transformation, that colour is amazing. Someone will definitely fall in love with that exterior and interior colour combo and have to have it 💜
Looking the part, hats off to Callum....I feel his pain. In fairness, if you have the time its a super satisfying thing to do, I think on it as "saving another car" So go on....what about the interior?? That needed a pressure washer......ON THE INSIDE!!!! Love the channel buddy, great set up you have there.
Nice wet sand. Sometimes we use Cartec Diamond Cut 3000 Compound as it’s gives similar cut to a fine paper. I hope you put a ceramic coating on to protect the hours of hard slog.
Amazing result, was the previous owner washing the car with a brillo pad? i have never seen a car that age with such bad paint work, but wow now look at it.
Even the isuzu d max that I have for work pulling trailers 5 days a week, stuffed with tools and driven in dusty and muddy clothing is in better condition. It amazes me why anyone wants to spend the money on a nice vehicle and let it get into sutch a state.
Bloody hell, when you went back to the car at 13:53 I thought it was after the work and thought WTF 😂 What a stunning car, how could someone let it get I the state it was in? You did one hell of a job.
Wow to the reel 🤩 That really made the video. X5 looks incredible, love the colour, and what a keeper in Callum. What a job, really enjoyed seeing this. You’re looking well Rob too 👍
Really looked forward to seeing this car brought back to life after its total neglect by the previous owner. Callum has done a brilliant job, what an asset to your business he is. Beautiful colour, BMW Individual option I think? Best wishes
OH MY GOSH I like the Plum sanded polished to death, shocker, didn't expect like it at all. Infact love it. Black pack and plum, who'd know, definitely didnt need a kit, end state pin so bright. Brilliant, Epic. This is why we sell cars. Your Best Vid to date BTW, but, the new mansion old dears house one was fun
Thank you, he pulled it out of the bag as usual. Glad you enjoyed it and we have converted you on the colour too! I love it :) Really appreciate the feedback as usual thank you :)
you should keep the X5 for yourself, its the best all rounder about. I have had Range rovers/porche cayennes etc etc and the X5 g05 version is on another level , especially in the reliability dept !
Random Orbital will take a lot longer but it has a safety buffer (excuse the pun) because the oscillating action helps to keep the heat down so you don’t burn the clear coat. Rotary’s are aggressive and you can get far better results faster but you risk damaging the paint if you don’t know what you are doing. I’ve had very good results with a DA but I’d say for a pro it’s rotary to do the hard work and DA to refine the finish.
great transformation, not my first choice colour but sincerely hope you get a buyer unrelated to detailing...hate it when "next day delivery" becomes a pointless bit of jargon
Great job Callum bet you got smooooth fingers now lol, i cant understand why the previous owner did that to such a nice motor??? i reckon about 1750 for the 520D. GREAT CHANNEL KEEP THE VIDS COMING THANKS.
Clearly a car that worked hard down in Devon. Definitely no posing on the drive for that one! Great job by Callum bringing it back to life. I wonder if he now has nightmares about purple BMW's?
Judging by the sat nav (which has been cleared) it has spent a bit of time across in France too. I am guessing eccentric owner as the history and mechanical side is spot on, condition, not so much!! 😂😂
What a time piece. Well deserved effort in taking a car back to its glory. So, the BMW, for yourself, I reckon you gave between 5 & 6k. Anyway. How about the white kia, what's the next purchase to sell ?
That BM was ALOT.....and I mean ALOT....of work 😳😳😳😳😳Absolutely stunning car and worth every second of that prep but man........hats off to Callum.......knowing how long that would take would have made me question buying that car which is upsetting in my position.........never have I wanted to be in your position of having the ability to delegate more in my life Rob 😏😏😏Glad Callum had his head phones on for that one 👌👌ohhhh and as for "Piggin"......thats bloody hilarious 👍👍👊👊👊
Technically, the Americans are right. It isn't a lacquer. Lacquer paints dry as a result of solvent evaporation - like the cellulose paint from the old days and the old one pack clears. Modern clears harden when the two components of the paint are mixed together and a chemical reaction takes place. It would be classed as an enamel. (Yes, I know - I need to get out more.) Great video👍
I think that BMW has been cleaned before, with a hedgehog! What a transformation, the car Looks amazing now , nearly grabbed my sunglasses to look at the shine 👌 You know the neglected State that car was in sais a lot about the previous owner.. Zero pride and proud to be a hobo LOL ..bet it was full of food wrappers and drinks cups also . Decent motor aswell . Regarding your new wheels, can't see the Year Reg but I'm guessing you stole it for a couple of K 🤔 maybe £1800 ? Thanks for sharing fella great content as always.
A short while ago looking at some new BMWs I was amazed at the terrible condition of the new paintwork never seen so much orange peel since the 60s and 70s.
The thing that scares you about a car like this is the engine. If the exteriour is that bad how is the servicing on the car as they usually offer a free wash and hoover.
After watching a few of these maybe they paid you to take the 5 series off them!😂 In all seriousness about £1,500 is my guess. Callum did a great job, not my colour or car, but I appreciate the time spent in correcting that paintwork. How can a 4 year old car get so bad!?
1000 for two front wings, 1000 for inner and outer rear arches, 6 grand to paint ..... Before you start on the subframe, bearings, suspension, head gasket, brakes, clutch etc ..... The list goes on and on. what's it worth, ..... 🤔 I'd say £7500 to £8000 and there'll be no profit in it when finished
How the hell did the paintwork get into that state into the first place? A surface totally covered in a massive amount of long, perfectly horizontal lines running the full length front to back….completely bizarre! Great job recovering the bodywork but an owner who has allowed their car to get in that state cosmetically isn’t likely to have had any regard for it mechanically either.
Mate that's mint!! Callum did ace job! If your in market for one of these you'd be nuts not to buy it
Loving watching this cars journey. What a machine ☺️.
Fast becoming one of my favourite automotive channels, keep up the good work 👍
Callum, what a star! Give the guy a pay rise 👍👍👍
HELL NO 😂😂😂 Haha, he is a good lad :)
Amazing job by Callum, and probably one of the nicest X5's I've seen, that colour really suits it
Nice job Callum! Beautiful colour previous owner should be ashamed
I just cannot understand who buys such a lovely car, and treats it like that? Great job, looking good!!
Amazing job. That colour is stunning.
How can anyone treat such a beautiful car so badly? I will never understand.
Ridicolous transformation, that colour is amazing. Someone will definitely fall in love with that exterior and interior colour combo and have to have it 💜
Thank you! We LOVE it, such a result, glad you like it
Amazing job by Callum. God knows how many hours that took! Brilliant work 👏🏻
Too many!! Not quick enough! 😂😂 (thank you)
Looking the part, hats off to Callum....I feel his pain. In fairness, if you have the time its a super satisfying thing to do, I think on it as "saving another car" So go on....what about the interior?? That needed a pressure washer......ON THE INSIDE!!!! Love the channel buddy, great set up you have there.
They must have quite literally have been driving that through hedges!? 😂
Certainly looks that way!!!
Give the lad a bonus, that is night and day 😀
He gets to work with me everyday.., what more could he want!! 😂
Stunning: well done Callum!
Thank you :)
Nice wet sand. Sometimes we use Cartec Diamond Cut 3000 Compound as it’s gives similar cut to a fine paper. I hope you put a ceramic coating on to protect the hours of hard slog.
Next job... for now we have to move on!! Great call :)
Amazing result, was the previous owner washing the car with a brillo pad? i have never seen a car that age with such bad paint work, but wow now look at it.
😂 Thank you!! Worth it :)
What a cracking job!!!
Thank you!!
Amazing job Callum well done 👏🏻 🍺
I suspect that paint damage was from many years of automatic brush car washes 😮 Fantastic restoration work guys ❤
That's hedge/bush damage from driving on narrow country lanes.
@sanmiguel4019 what even on the bonnet?😉
Devon rash
Great work, its scrubbed up nicely!
Thank you :)
Amazing to buy such an expensive and lovely car and treat it like absolute garbage. I really hope they got hit with a low offer at trade in time.
If they treated the car like that, I highly doubt they’d care what the trade in price was. Clearly had the money to be batter the car like that.
That colour is awesome! Well worth the hours and hours of work!
Great job looks amazing
Well done callum...and rob 👍
2400 for the beamer
Thank you for noticing I was there too Kieron! Haha! Good guess on the BMW... shame it wasn't that cheap!
what a transformation,... stunning work and stunning car
Excellent job from Callum, love the videos ❤
2800 for the 5 series.
Another great video, well done ,lovely result, what a way to treat such a premium car.😢
Thank you! Really pleased. I wish it was bought for that money!
Next level video editing 👌
Amazing job. That colour pops
Even the isuzu d max that I have for work pulling trailers 5 days a week, stuffed with tools and driven in dusty and muddy clothing is in better condition.
It amazes me why anyone wants to spend the money on a nice vehicle and let it get into sutch a state.
Who ever said he was camp was absolutely bang on. Probably not Dale Winton camp but certainly pretty close.
Thank you x
What a legend Callum, £7k margin hard earned!
Bloody hell, when you went back to the car at 13:53 I thought it was after the work and thought WTF 😂 What a stunning car, how could someone let it get I the state it was in? You did one hell of a job.
Brilliant job
Wow to the reel 🤩 That really made the video.
X5 looks incredible, love the colour, and what a keeper in Callum. What a job, really enjoyed seeing this.
You’re looking well Rob too 👍
Thank you! I really appreciate that. He is thrilled with this comment too thank you 🤩
I bet it looks even better in the flesh. 👌
Thank you, IT DOES! We love it
Bloody lovely brilliant job
I hammered one of them sgs compressors. Doing bodywork and paint. Noisy noisy thing. But took the abuse
Great to know Andy thank you
Really looked forward to seeing this car brought back to life after its total neglect by the previous owner.
Callum has done a brilliant job, what an asset to your business he is.
Beautiful colour, BMW Individual option I think?
Best wishes
Thank you Steve! He is a good lad isn't he. It is an individual colour, very lovely indeed :)
Fricking hell it's finally CHOPPIES BMW-M thing bought about 10 years ago feels like we've been waiting !!!!!!!!
😂😂
Give that boy a bonus, what a job! BTW when is the white F type coming up for sale Rob?
Beautiful colour. Is the colour like the Queens cars. Caviar ?
Will Chop's be getting a bonus now that its come up so well ? 🤭 I think Callum deserves one for sure ...
Callum is da man! That is brilliant!
bmw came up really well, top valeter on the job, give that man a pay rise
OH MY GOSH I like the Plum sanded polished to death, shocker, didn't expect like it at all. Infact love it. Black pack and plum, who'd know, definitely didnt need a kit, end state pin so bright. Thank you, he pulled it out of the bag as usual. Glad you enjoyed it and we have converted you on the colour too! I love it :) Really appreciate the feedback as usual thank you :)
That was a brilliant job done by callum
Great video and great job calum !!!
you should keep the X5 for yourself, its the best all rounder about. I have had Range rovers/porche cayennes etc etc and the X5 g05 version is on another level , especially in the reliability dept !
Totally agree with this, however too much money to have sat in one car for personal use at the moment!
Previous owner must have washed it at least once.... with a brick. 😂
😂 😂 😂 😂
VERY satisfying
Is an orbital machine better than a rotary machine for detailing?
Great video chaps 🖖
Random Orbital will take a lot longer but it has a safety buffer (excuse the pun) because the oscillating action helps to keep the heat down so you don’t burn the clear coat. I’ve had very good results with a DA but I’d say for a pro it’s rotary to do the hard work and DA to refine the finish.
I didn't think it would come back that good
Me and you both Gary... I was worried!
Great video what a massive achievement by cal lol
😅
Hi Rob, a very good job. Do you give it a protective coat when finished? How do you repair a metallic finish?
Callum did good.
Wet sanding was the only way with that paintwork.
..
Looks nice now.
4300 for the BMW..
Thank you, he pulled it out of the bag as usual. Good guess... video coming soon!... :)
great transformation, not my first choice colour but sincerely hope you get a buyer
unrelated to detailing...hate it when "next day delivery" becomes a pointless bit of jargon
WOW thats amazing well done Callum
He is thrilled with these comments thank you 🤩
Great job Callum bet you got smooooth fingers now lol, i cant understand why the previous owner did that to such a nice motor??? i reckon about 1750 for the 520D. GREAT CHANNEL KEEP THE VIDS COMING THANKS.
Thank you!!!! He has lovely hands... oo err
Clearly a car that worked hard down in Devon. Definitely no posing on the drive for that one!

Judging by the sat nav (which has been cleared) it has spent a bit of time across in France too. I am guessing eccentric owner as the history and mechanical side is spot on, condition, not so much!! 😂😂
Lovely colour, what is it called?
Ametrin metallic :)
What a time piece. Well deserved effort in taking a car back to its glory. So, the BMW, for yourself, I reckon you gave between 5 & 6k. Anyway. How about the white kia, what's the next purchase to sell ?
Ey up Phil.... close call on the BMW!! Will do a video next about what is going on :)
Even with Callum hindering you at every turn, you some how managed to pull that out of the bag 😂
Absolutely mint.
You owe that lad a week in Magaluf 😉
😂😂😂 He literally just get's in the way doesn't he! haha. I assure you he is well taken care of and get's lots of cuddles from Uncle Rob 😂
@thelogbookcc cuddles from uncle Rob.... blink twice if you're in danger Callum 😅
Waited soooooo long for this video but totally worth it. Well done Callum, top top job. My guess is £3200 for the 5 series
Car looks magnificent
Thank you! :)

Great video👍
Great knowledge and thank you!
Wet sanding a car 😮🔫 that boy has got patience of a saint 😇 looks absolutely incredible though! Well worth it.
Defo get the ProXL 3000 and 5000 grit pads for next time mate. Painted whole bumper you are nuts
Needed Mobile Car Crafts who’s blowing up social media to corner bumper it
He does bits on Ferraris Bentleys even cullinans
looks awesome! .....callum deserves a medal.......and i reccon 5k is what you paid for the white 5 series rob?
It looked like James had had it wet sanded before he sent it to you 😀
Haha 😂 Wasn't great was it!
Sweet BMW! Had an Avant that color donkeys ago. How's the home under the hammer(s) going? 😂
Proper ❤
my favorite Callum after Jamie
We all love Callum.
I think that BMW has been cleaned before, with a hedgehog!
What a transformation, the car Looks amazing now , nearly grabbed my sunglasses to look at the shine 👌
You know the neglected State that car was in sais a lot about the previous owner..
Great job with the bodywork. My guess is 4k.
well done callum 😎car looks amazing! take a week off i said so😂
SGS are a truly shocking company to deal with. Ended up having to take them to the small claims court. Car looks fantastic.
Wow, that's not great, hope you came out okay and thank you!
A short while ago looking at some new BMWs I was amazed at the terrible condition of the new paintwork never seen so much orange peel since the 60s and 70s.
Thats deffo been attacked by those automated washers with the brushes ...
Should have got a 100l Hyundai silent compressor from b&q.they are super quiet.
Direct drive compressors are really loud.
Why would you let your car get in this condition...especially the interior. God knows what their house is like !
It's a shame isn't it!
The thing that scares you about a car like this is the engine. If the exteriour is that bad how is the servicing on the car as they usually offer a free wash and hoover.
looks like the x5 lived its life going though mechanical car wash .
Looks like someone has washed the car with the complementary windscreen washer they provide at the service station.
😂😂😂
SGS what a pain in the butt to deal with, they really need to sort out their communication.
Not our first rodeo with them and comms breakdown sadly. Great quality stuff though!
£3600 in P/x Rob, good colour combo Alpine white, black dakota, say £4990 on Sale??? Cheers Sam.
TITAN compressor? Didn't they do the submersible to the Titanic?
After watching a few of these maybe they paid you to take the 5 series off them!😂 In all seriousness about £1,500 is my guess. Callum did a great job, not my colour or car, but I appreciate the time spent in correcting that paintwork. How can a 4 year old car get so bad!?
Get a large cfm belt drive compressor from a proper tool supplier. You won’t regret it.
Noted thank you Rob!
Did the previous owner wash this with a brillo pad?
How did the car get so scratched ? Did someone wash it with brillo pad, that can’t be the usual Devon country lane rash over the whole car
It's a lovely colour for sure. What caused the paint to look so abraised? Constantly brushing against bushes?
They call it Devon rash, many bushes sadly
I would think that 520d would siv at about £2500-£2800 depending on history.. Defo needs the wheels powder coating silver though...
That’s a lot of work gone in that. Wet sanding looks a 😮 definitely not done at home.
Camp as a box of socks
Thank you x
1000 for two front wings, 1000 for inner and outer rear arches, 6 grand to paint ..... Before you start on the subframe, bearings, suspension, head gasket, brakes, clutch etc ..... The list goes on and on. what's it worth, ..... 🤔 I'd say £7500 to £8000 and there'll be no profit in it when finished
Looks like hedge scratches
SGS are absolutely shocking. Would never buy a single bolt from those clowns.
Kindest regards 🇨🇦🇨🇦
