I own a G87 now and I’ve had the G83 convertible about a year ago. I pick the M2 every time. Absolutely superb car. As per Chris Harris’s review. BMW got it right.

Is the issue with the oil sump like the xdrive 420d the same as g30 5 series x drive where you also need to move the subframe/engine to access and replace the sump?????

do bmw 5 series x drives g30 2018 ones also need gearbox out to replace a corroded oil sump?????

I have an 08 Cayenne Turbo with the S upgrade although it’s not officially a Turbo S. It looks just like your GTS black with the pano roof though it has the double rear roof spoiler. It’s on black 21” Sports Plus wheels. It has BOSE, an aftermarket head unit, heated seats, head rest crests and just about every option ticked. The car is an absolute beast, however talking of fuel economy in Sport mode under hard acceleration it does go to 0 MPG which amuses me. Sport mode does get the best out of the Tiptronic box although even in normal mode it will drop down to second with only a momentary pause. 547 BHP gives you a huge push back in your seat when you unleash it, although in reality I never use it except for a quick overtake so the truth is it’s pointless really however I’d rather have it and not need it than not have it and want it. It’s not a track car obviously and the UK is limited to 70 mph so really I seldom use Sport mode let alone all that power. I also have 2 TT’s which I also love, a 216 bhp 180 and a 263 BHP 225 which is running a very rare full GTX body kit and a very rare Flieder Blau (Elderberry) paint. I run the TT’s for fuel economy and honestly the 180 5 speed is the most fun car of the 3, it’s insanely quick up to legal limits and bearing in mind it’s the non Quattro FWD the handling is incredible.

So, whilst you're pulling your hair out thinking, oh my God, not another expense. My original anticipation was easily £50k plus. Having seen the majority of work gone into this so far, I sincerely believe you will have spent around £117,000.

In the 90s used to help out a plumber, one day we were lifting up floorboards to get to a pipe, and the newspaper under the carpet was from 1939!
