I got an old one of these from my workplace. It's a bit dusty so I'm currently disassembling it to clean everything, although I'm struggling with the right side panel. I have to say, this PC is a masterpiece. A lot of thought went into it, everything is built in a purposeful and logical way. The side panel gives a ton of useful information, the entire device is easy to disassemble (it's like 95% toolless) and the components are high quality.
Fun fact. These things are used mainly in circulation internally, kind of, in HP. HP Indigo, a printing press company uses so many workstations for running the printers, making it run very, very well.
I have just updated to a Workstation, and taken the HBA/Raid cards into a new box as a server. The 10G ethernet+switch between each was a task. Now serious work on one and serious storage on the other.
The RTX sau GTX can be used with it? for example GTX2060. I need an workstation for my work but in my free time I play games but i need a good GPU for them.
Ummm you don’t have a 1250w power supply as stated @ the 15 minute mark on your video, as they only came in 850w or 1125 supply’s. But I could see the tag on your supply (left side top of supply looking into the open case), showing you indeed have the larger, more desirable 1125w supply, that’s needed for v4 processors, and more powerful gpu’s.
Thinking of making my own pc but i don't know the best place to get i7 or better chip is. I know there is a shortage of chips but i am not in a hurry. Where do you recommend I find one and at what price should i expect to pay minimum? If you have any chip recommendations I would also like to hear them.
For used hardware, I usually just browse through eBay for a while and look for good deals, but as for new hardware, I tend to find that, in my state anyway, Microcenter usually has the best prices. As for pricing and recommendations, I would need to know what generation and use case you would be after. If you’re okay with used, some E-waste recyclers will sell to the general public and you can often get extremely good deals from them.

@@121qwert2 understandable with ebay. Recycling centers can be very hit or miss. Some people are cool with the general public coming in and having a look through stuff, others are not.
These workstations commands some credit on the build as seen the scuffs that thing was moved around with little care, you can tell. Some deserve a kick in the nuts, like that RTX A4000 that was yanked out without unscrewing and I had to bend it into place.

Just show what the device can do. Please. Who cares about the casing? It's the components and the performance. It's what's inside that matters. That's what does the work. Scratches don't mean anything. That's a Z8 workstation man. Get going. You're spending too much time on the meaningless scratches.

I came across a video of an individual who actually painted the sides. From the looks it definitely can be cosmetically resurrected.
