Yeah that's one thing I'm not crazy about in the EP's for sims 4. They aren't bad per se, it's just that they seem like they don't have the extended amount of game play that sims 2 and 3 would add.
I found Get Together to actually be far superior. It gaves my sims something to do when they left the house and even a reason to actually leave. I found the club system too be just plain hilarious and you can an infinite amount of things with them if you enjoy the feature. 350+ New items were a welcome addition although I can understand why some weren't astounded by the aesthetic. Personally I found Get To Work to be 'Eh' because the Active Careers are very specialized and the retail system leaves a lot to be desired. The thing I enjoyed the most were the CAS items, other than that I wasn't impressed.
Jackalope Wrangler Yeah I see a lot of people who seem to have really liked Get Together. It just really fell flat for me. I hardly ever play Sims 4 and I briefly tried Get Together out. I liked the town but that's about it. For whatever reason I just can't seem to get into Sims 4. :(
Getting into the sims in general isn't easy for a lot of people. It's not your typical game, it's life simulation. Sims 4 unlike previous sims game is very focused on the Sims gameplay in comparison to 100% customization then it was in Sims 1 - 3. With the removal of the Create a Style system and seeing a lot less content in Stuff and Expansion packs when it comes to variety. You need too enjoy playing as your sims in regards too just having a lot of content too build and create with. Get To Work gave us a lot more stuff to build and create with. However when it came down to Sims Gameplay it did not bring much to do. It brought in Active Careers which some people just plain find annoying to do, and retail, which really doesn't involve much hands on interactivity. Get Together brought not quite as much content then Get to Work, with around the same amount of items but less CAS items and actual building implements (No new Beams like in GTW etc.), however it brought A LOT of things to do with your sims by introducing a lot of fun new community lots and things to do on the lots. The Club system is SO much fun when you get invested in them, as the possibilities are so extensive. By allowing you too make simple books clubs too clubs about people who dress up in Knight suits and Hotdogs pants and run around Dancing on peoples lawns. BatmanFanGirl

Eh, I like get together more than I like Get to work
Sims 3 Generations $40 (now $20 on sale $10) To get small portions of it in The Sims 4 you need..... Parenthood $20 Growing Together $40 Toddler Stuff $10 Kids Room Stuff $10 High School Years $40 My Wedding Stories $20 Total: $140 (minus tax) and you're still missing loads of content from imaginary friends to the active daycare job let alone cars.
to be fair, a lot of the sims 4 makes sense on paper, the issue is the execution. Like, they've said the reason why they cut the way the town works compared to the sims 3 was because they didn't want their to be performance issues on lower end PCs, which was an issue with sims 3 though most of its life. Sims has always and will always be a casual game, and its kinda wacky looking back and two and three and realizing how fucking beefy of a PC it actually needed at launch.
@@doctorvontacos4568yeah but them spreading out packs is crazy when sims 3 wasn’t as greedy we should at least get supernatural sims all together not spilt into like four packs
@@doctorvontacos4568Yeahhhh, pretty sure the main reason the open world town was cut out is because Sims 4 was originally going to be a spinoff online game Project Olympus. I seriously can't believe that open world and create-a-style was so technologically advanced that it was impossible for the developers to implement those without causing major lag. I mean, for crying out loud in the Sims 2 the neighborhoods are 3d and you can plop down custom lots lol which is more advanced than whatever the Sims 4 has. So unless technology regressed then there's simply no excuse.
This is probably my favorite sims 3 expansion. It is soooo in depth and added TONS of new gameplay that we had never seen before. And it's all realistic and is usable in a normal sims household. I wish sims 4 packs were this in-depth.
Omg! Just watching these old sims 3 videos I’m wondering why I ever complained about sims 3. Besides the fact that the sims are play dough looking and the world looks kinda dark and gloomy we got so much more content! A sims 4 expansion pack review could never be this long.
Very true. I never complained about Sims 3 I LOVED it. But now with Sims 4 there is nothing close to my fav expansion Generations. I guess in a way Parenthood is as close as it get and yet it's doesn't even compare. Sims 3 is a better game but Sims 4 is a WAY better looking game. Hopefully Sims 5 they will bring back Sims 3 Gameplay. Because Sims 4 will never be anythinf close to it.
:/ Woah, I forgot how much better the expansions are for the Sims 3 opposed to the Sims 4. (SO much more is provided in those packs than EA have been doing nowadays). :/
THIS. THIS, is what the sims 4 expansion packs are all lacking. This detail. All of the shit in this one pack, is like in 4 packs of the sims 4- so like, quadruple the money. Bs.
Honestly, Sims 4 is utter shit compared to all the stuff you could do in sims 3. You're supposed to improve when a new game is released, not take five steps backwards
I love how many people are here watching old Sims 3 reviews because they’re fed up with Sims 4 and wishing for better times 😂 This includes myself to be fair
+Lazy Game Reviews Thanks so much for all the help on the sims 3 u got me convinced to get it and even got me convinced to get seasons, pets, and generations! my mom is gonna let me get generations! anyways thanks for all the help in these expansion packs!
In my game my teen got grounded for being out too late, then missed school because the parents wouldn't let them leave. Then got grounded even more for missing school.
I never really understood why rabbit holes pissed people off. Sure, if you were a single sim, rabbit holes were a bit annoying, seeing your sim dissapear for hours of sim-day while you stare at the screen. But how is that much different than the Sims 2 where the same thing happened, you just stared at the empty house until they returned? And they were a god send for large families, because micromanaging 3+ sims at once gets annoying fast. Rabbit holes allow you to take your attention away from that one Sim, alleviating the amount of sims you need to keep a close eye on.

Oh man, remember when we used to be mad about how laggy TS3 was, and how we all HATED how the online store was accessible in game? We used to have it so good. Sims 4 could never.
Vanessa Ferrer parenthood and generations *aren’t* the same pack! and parenthood is a game pack *not* an expansion pack!! We still have around *2 years* left of the s4 so would could get a *much better* generations pack for the s4
A lot of people thought the imaginary friends were weird, and creepy...and those people wouldn't be wrong. That being said, I loved the imaginary friends! I wish they'd bring them back for The Sims 4.
Man Growing Together is sad compared to this... only thing that caught my eye in that one was customizable treehouses. Generations by comparison is still my favourite TS3 expansion of all time.
Now I hope I'm not alone when I say sims 3 is better than sims 4 (at least the gameplay) I think there's more stuff to do and the sims look realistic without a bunch of cc
I remember I was playing a very dramatic save game and after one of my sims had a baby I got the notification that people were gossiping about her having a child out of wedlock. No one seemed to care that the father was her sister's husband though....
Loved this ep SO much when it came out! When I watch these reviews I realize there’s so many things I never used/did in ts3 even though I played it for 6+ years. So much content! I love that I could essentially do the same things over and over, and it would still feel fresh and fun because sims were all so unique! Even if you played the same careers, all of the extra things to do outside of careers made playing every sim feel different
It’s been YEARS since I’ve gotten the Expansion bundle. It can with the generations on the paper when you open the case. It’s took me this long to realize i never used the code!!
Why??? Just why we don't have all of this things in Sims 4?????? I bet that if we even get something remotely similar to this, we would have to pay for a huge amount of extra expansions just to have it all... And I'm not even talking about all the time it would take. I'm sad :(
Being able to watch your old home videos on the TV is so adorable. I have the option to have slumber parties, but I don't have Generations. How does one initiate a slumber party? I have the Lifetime Happiness goal, but I can't seem to actually fulfill it.
it’s been years since this game was done and over and we have this sims 4 now but this game will always be superior because with the sims 3 we got 2-3 expansions a year and they would all be great(except for the lagging in island paradise which can be fixed by deleting a couple families, house boats/houses and one lot) but the sims 4 got boring and i have since uninstalled it and went back to playing the sims 3 i just couldn’t let go of open world and the other stuff and with sims 4 we’re getting 1 expansion pack per year and a whole bunch of stuff packs that could’ve been made as one like why did we get pets as an expansion pack then get my first pet stuff they could’ve just been one and vampires why not just make a supernatural expansion pack and if we introduced toddlers into the sims 4 earlier we couldn’t have the kids stuff pack and toddler stuff pack as one as well also we all really hoped parenthood could maybe come close to generations then it didn’t it was an off brand version of this but this is just my opinion and if you don’t agree so be it but i just think the sims 3 is far more superior
I can’t believe I watched this when it first came out. I just wanted to say this (I know you probably won’t see this) but I really appreciate you adding that picture of the Star Trek generations thing in the beginning. Little teenage me definitely didn’t appreciate that as much as adult me does. 😂
This expansion is basically everything you wanted to do in Sims 3 that isn't an option. With everything that it includes, its what i call a perfect expansion pack. They should really bundle this with the Starter Pack instead of Late Night, Generations is far more essential for any player.
Wow, so much effort and awesome content that adds to the game play in this pack, more than all of sims 4 combined. I'm so disappointed with the lack of effort and content that adds to the game play in sims 4. I would go back to sims 3 but My computer can't handle more than a couple of expansion packs, and after playing a family for a while, they get so buggy that it's impossible to play. I get so bored in the sims 4 that I haven't been able to stick with a family for 1 generation. I have such nostalgia for the sims franchise, I wish I could enjoy Sims 4 like I did the previous games.
I miss getting interactions with expansion packs. The stuff packs are more for actual items, let the expansionpacks have some interactions please and thank you EA
That is because fans of the series request them to convert old expansion from Sims 1 & 2. Oh, and ofc. EA loves to get money for just polishing up some old stuffs and include them in the newest.
You know what I would have liked? A setting that makes it feel like the decades are actually passing. Like starting out in a period similar to the 50s or 80s, and new technology and options slowly becoming available, aswell as prices changing.
just bought this game recently. Im enjoying it so far. I really like all the new toys and objects for kids. Currently sending two of my sim kids to boarding school though.
TH-cam just randomly suggested this video to me right after it suggested the sims channel's generations trailer. I got this expansion 12 years ago and still love playing it. Still love watching the trailer and still love watching LGR's review
Pilot Missy I love generations because everyone had a let’s play for it and WROLD adventures takes away the normal game play cause you CAN get bored you know
I remember I'd always randomize the gender of the imaginary friend, turn them human, and that's who my sim would marry 80% of the time. It's basically the final evolution of my love for the "childhood friends to lovers" trope. This makes me want to go back and play this again, unfortunately I forgot the log in info for my old origins account that I purchased the game on back in 2012...
I remember watching all these reviews as a kid brings back so many memories this game was so fun even just to watch I miss when games had this much heart
I love listening to people complain about the sims 4. Music to my ears. I love TS3. I only started playing it a year ago and the expansion packs and mods and cc and things in the sims store just make my game great. I can create anything in my fantasy. For the sims 4, you can't do ANYTHING which is lame. TS3 is the best.
I just got the sims 3 generations and i thought it wouldnt be that great, but then i realized that a review doesnt mean you cover everything, but yours is awesome! I love the read to sleep option! Love it so much
In order to have the "closest" to Generations experience in Sims 4 you'll need: Parenthood + Toddler Stuff + Kids Room Stuff + Romantic Garden Stuff + Backyard Stuff and still not even compare to how much Generations had to offer!
I still miss the wonder of discovering everything in a new TS3 expansion. Even the online store had more to be excited about then the shit coming out for TS4.
it's a 50/50 chance that you can get it... sometimes you do then sometimes you don't when your child is born it will get sent in the mail if it doesn't just have another child I guess
I don't have generations, but do "testingcheatsenabled on" or "testingcheatsenabled true" then "buydebug on" in the cheat box & maybe there's an imaginary friend.
I bought the sims 4 and sims 4 get to work but its not the same as the sims 3. The sims 4 is a great game but the sims 3 has it all and i dont think it will ever get old.
To be honest, I don't have the slightest idea of why people used to hate TS3 that much when it was released. I understand that the lag and crashing into your game was something they should have fixed. But it's a game that adds a lot of more things than TS2 and the open world is something amazing.
Not sure why I'm watching this in 2020 but this makes sims 4 look really sad

So. Much. Content. EPs in Sims 3 were heavier in content for the most part. Get to Work was OK, but Get Together was quite thin in terms of content.
Jackalope Wrangler
Yeah I see a lot of people who seem to have really liked Get Together.
Eh, I like get together more than I like Get to work
Remember when sims expansions added lots of new content
Laura Burger Good times.
The sims parents talking to the sims 4 be like "WHY CAN'T YOU BE MORE LIKE YOUR BROTHER THE SIMS 3??"
sims 3 is like the genius kid who is always ending up in the hospital with seizures and the sims 4 is the otherwise normal kid who's a dumbass.
@@inspectorspinda accurate
@@inspectorspinda excellent but I got a suggestion sims 3 is that genius kid who is overworked and under appreciated and sims 1 and 2 are parents
Gave you the 1000th like, because I had to.
@@idk_who2320 Sims 3 acts out and rebels by having stuff packs by Diesel.

High School Years $40
My Wedding Stories $20
Total: $140 (minus tax)
and you're still missing loads of content from imaginary friends to the active daycare job let alone cars.
to be fair, a lot of the sims 4 makes sense on paper, the issue is the execution.
🥺🥺🥺😡😡😡
Its so disgusting
Because Sims 4 will never be anythinf close to it.
yo i love how sims 3 sims look without CC or with it
I personally hate the shiny plastic-look Sims 4 sims have. The colors are far too saturated and everything looks so weirdly shiny.
Maybe because your computer crashed and the game was slow as hell, and loading was a pain?
Not to mention the "pudding face" look could be greatly fixed with modded content.
Bs.
This is equivalent to 7 sims 4 packs now 😭
i love how everyone else is just watching these for nostalgia but im here watching them because i bought sims 3 and am looking for some cool packs.

Honestly, Sims 4 is utter shit compared to all the stuff you could do in sims 3. You're supposed to improve when a new game is released, not take five steps backwards
a 4 year old game is pretty new compared to most, a games avg lifespam is 10-15 years
This is why Im not getting Sims 4 yet... :\
I love how many people are here watching old Sims 3 reviews because they’re fed up with Sims 4 and wishing for better times 😂

I remember when rabbit holes ticked me off. Man has sims 4 changed my mind on what's important in this series.
@@medicindisquise4271 because it ended up being overused later for them just not wanting to properly add a feature. For example the greenhouse.

Wow watching this now... sims 4 seems like a joke. More features than four sims 4 expansions
Yesss !!! Comparing Parenthood to this ,parenthood does seem like a joke, well more or less all the sims 4 packs lack
Man Growing Together is sad compared to this... only thing that caught my eye in that one was customizable treehouses. Generations by comparison is still my favourite TS3 expansion of all time.
17 full minutes of content. And this is only one expansion. Sims 3 is amazing.
Now I hope I'm not alone when I say sims 3 is better than sims 4 (at least the gameplay) I think there's more stuff to do and the sims look realistic without a bunch of cc
Other than the super popular ones (University/Seasons) this was one of the best EPs. Makes me miss interactive babies and toddlers.
Sims 4 gets boring after a while. I keep coming back to Sims 3. The Generations expansions pack really fleshes out the game play.
I remember I was playing a very dramatic save game and after one of my sims had a baby I got the notification that people were gossiping about her having a child out of wedlock.
No one seemed to care that the father was her sister's husband though....
😂😂😂😂
Wow, bunk beds and spiral stairs in the same pack, besides all the other stuff?? Who could have thought? Looking at you, Sims 4...
*clears throat* THE SIMS 4 COULD NEEEEEEEEVER
Loved this ep SO much when it came out! When I watch these reviews I realize there’s so many things I never used/did in ts3 even though I played it for 6+ years. So much content! I love that I could essentially do the same things over and over, and it would still feel fresh and fun because sims were all so unique! Even if you played the same careers, all of the extra things to do outside of careers made playing every sim feel different
2:00 Hillarious Heavy Rain reference lol, JASOOOOON???! JASOOOON!!?!?!?
+Pall Plays ™ " ''I AM A BAAAD MAN'' - was a great South Park reference

It’s been YEARS since I’ve gotten the Expansion bundle. It can with the generations on the paper when you open the case. It’s took me this long to realize i never used the code!!
If you have a code for generations and own TS3 contact EA and they will activate it for you.
The slumber parties are only for children, and you have to at least have one child/teenager aquantaince to invite to it. :3
I have Generations and watching your old videos on TV is just so awesome! I film a lot and when I got bored playing, I watch them.
Za Al Um... that’s illegal so don’t expose yourself and it’s just WRONG
the home videos are just hilarious. film your baby on the potty for first time, and watch it again when they're elders.
Slumber party only for kids
I asked my dad to download the sims 3 university and generations expansion pack! I'm so excited to play it
NekoRinNya i will say
you will love the two packs 😂😂
it’s been years since this game was done and over and we have this sims 4 now but this game will always be superior because with the sims 3 we got 2-3 expansions a year and they would all be great(except for the lagging in island paradise which can be fixed by deleting a couple families, house boats/houses and one lot) but the sims 4 got boring and i have since uninstalled it and went back to playing the sims 3 i just couldn’t let go of open world and the other stuff and with sims 4 we’re getting 1 expansion pack per year and a whole bunch of stuff packs that could’ve been made as one like why did we get pets as an expansion pack then get my first pet stuff they could’ve just been one and vampires why not just make a supernatural expansion pack and if we introduced toddlers into the sims 4 earlier we couldn’t have the kids stuff pack and toddler stuff pack as one as well also we all really hoped parenthood could maybe come close to generations then it didn’t it was an off brand version of this but this is just my opinion and if you don’t agree so be it but i just think the sims 3 is far more superior
Kay Vlogs go off queen
C. Precious Jones thanks😂
I can’t believe I watched this when it first came out. I just wanted to say this (I know you probably won’t see this) but I really appreciate you adding that picture of the Star Trek generations thing in the beginning. Little teenage me definitely didn’t appreciate that as much as adult me does. 😂
I could honestly listen to your sims reviews all day. The videos are so well-made and your voice is so calming!!
Still playing TS3 (2020) and still watching your videos ❤️
This expansion works great with University Life, by the way.
hearing LGR say a sims pack is worth buying, felt like a break of character after watching TS4 reviews
"it expands practically everything in the game at some level" the Sims 4 EPs could never
I miss getting interactions with expansion packs. The stuff packs are more for actual items, let the expansionpacks have some interactions please and thank you EA
generations will forever be my fav sims 3 pack 🥺🩷
lgr predicted not only one, but TWO expansion packs
George Fabars Illuminati confirmed
That is because fans of the series request them to convert old expansion from Sims 1 & 2. Oh, and ofc. EA loves to get money for just polishing up some old stuffs and include them in the newest.
They were in sims 2, so he probably got it from there
In order too
You know what I would have liked?
A setting that makes it feel like the decades are actually passing.
Like starting out in a period similar to the 50s or 80s, and new technology and options slowly becoming available, aswell as prices changing.
that would actually be sooo cool. I wish they kept releasing expansions for ts3 :(
just bought this game recently. Im enjoying it so far. I really like all the new toys and objects for kids. Currently sending two of my sim kids to boarding school though.

At least Sims 3 has a COLOR WHEEL!

I only started playing it a year ago and the expansion packs and mods and cc and things in the sims store just make my game great. I can create anything in my fantasy. For the sims 4, you can't do ANYTHING which is lame. TS3 is the best.

also, I usually have my children marry their imaginary friends lmao
Natasha Melady that's kind of weird but kk
Odd flex, but okay.
The video cameras work well with the Movie Stuff Pack

WHERE????
***** You actually can't buy it in buy mode.
It gets sent to you randomly. Sometimes you don't get it.
it's a 50/50 chance that you can get it... sometimes you do then sometimes you don't when your child is born it will get sent in the mail if it doesn't just have another child I guess
Honestly. The game crashes a lot but it has so much good stuff to offer
I like the sims 2 more tbh but sims 3 is in 2nd place
This is probably my absolute favorite Sims 3 expansion pack. Soooo much content added for just regular real life game players
