If you already have lag or slow/choppy performance, yes, the weather will likely only make it worse. Not by a huge amount, but it depends on your CPU/GPU.

I really miss seasons, supernatural beings and even the university. I remember when the superintendent had to come to your house and make sure you were good enough to join a private school. I used to love that.
Idk why but sims 4 seems so boring compared to the sims 3 I mean with the expansion pack nothing really catch an eye for me. And the loading screens is just annoying so I'd go home instead

I love playing around with the seasonal triggers to make my town seem more alive. During the winter, the beach closes and all of the sunbeds and stands pack up till summer, all of the table and chairs from outside restaurants are taken in because everyone is eating inside. Reminds me of the Harvest Moon series where seasons where so influential on the story and gameplay.
Lmao. That option comes with the Sims 3: Supernatural. It's supposed to be like a little parody of Twilight. They even added a family in Moonlight Falls (a town that comes with 'Supernatural') called the Swain family with Bella & Charlie but instead their names are Bailey Swain and I forgot the dad's name lol.
I really wish Sims 4 played like the love child of 2 and 3 (traits + good memory system + option to disable aging and story progression for non-played families). That would’ve been an unique take that also didn’t melt computers like the open world. 4’s the prettiest game, if only it had gameplay to back up its looks.
i found the sims 3 at a thrift shop about 1 year ago. i’ve been playing base game for this whole time and even tho it does get a bit boring, base game sims 3 is 1000x way more fun than my 7 pack sims 4. i’m going to be buying late night, ambitions, university, and seasons. and i’m never looking back.

I can not believe that it was 7years ago already when in first watched this. So much in life has changed since. I've moved all over the country and in these moves I no longer have winter. Thank you LGR for always being a constant in my ever-changing hectic life.
I noticed this too when trying to drown a sim in the ocean (for storyline reasons). I thought maybe it was something to do with the ocean not being considered a lot, and that somehow messing things up so they can't randomly die in the middle of the sea. Maybe it's some weirdness with how routing works? Either way, their drowning moodlet can run out, but instead of dying, they just determinedly swim back to shore, and that's it.
I'm rewatching some of these old expansionpack reviews and it amazes me how much content each of the expansions has! I honestly forgot and started to get used to Sims 4 and the stuffpacks. I thought that things like halloween stuff was cute, but seeing this... obviously it should have been included in a seasons expansion instead of separating everything in small packs.
See, this is why I am glad I have the Halloween/Christmas packs they released a while back. I always love prepping my house for Christmas with the tree and all the decorations. :)

Ian Jackman i have all the expansions, sunlit tides, some store content, and even custom content and my game is playable. My computer desktop was only 500 bucks and you could almost day it runs smoothly.
I don't like the sims 4 and so I still play the sims 3. in my opinion the sims 3 graphics are more realistic and that's what I like! I just really don't like how cartoonish ts4 looks.
And now he's looking adorably clumsy on roller skates, letting the woman lead when dancing, procuring the services of a male prostitute and looking for not-easter eggs, I had no idea this is what he does when he's not murdering aliens.
This is the review that got me to pickup Sims 3 with Seasons included and I like it alot. If you know the cheat codes you can control the weather so it doesn't cheat you out of seasonal events and spooky day can be improved by having a town with a lot of children and teenagers which no premade town ever has but there's an incentive.
Whenever I watch these reviews I'm just reminded of how bad and empty Sims 4 is compared to Sims 3, they had so much to offer. Wish they had just carried on making expansions for Sims 3...
well eventually it will all this was in an expansion and I believe the 8th expansion on the Sims 3 the Sims 4 only had two by now so just wait it will eventually come ( and I hope pets and supernatural does make a comeback as well)

Great expansion pack the only thing I can see missing from seasons is managing your lawn it would be really cool whenever sims 5 comes out they could have a lawn that grows you can do it yourself or tell your kids to do it if they could put that in or more maintaining of your house would be great

"...Makeshift quarantine/concentration camp..." hah, this practically made a prediction to 2020. Though, it's not really like going to a concentration camp, quarantine is torture for some out there who aren't good at being alone.
This expansion is mostly great, but it annoys me that it can keep freezing throughout spring and fall. In the spring season it doesn't slowly get warmer, it can still freeze two days before summer begins.
Ik weet dat het in het echt kan, daar zit ik alleen in de Sims niet op te wachten. Het is irritant als je een moestuin hebt of visser bent en het het hele jaar door regelmatig vriest, in plaats van alleen maar in de winter. Because the Spooky Day trick or treating was hit or miss, I’d typically invite over my sim’s friends for a costume party and bake a cake to serve as “candy” 😂😂 for me some sort of festivity filled the void
I really like this one too... but never understood why they chose to include aliens in this specific expansion lol. seems like it would have made more sense for them to put the aliens in supernatural IMO.
Aaron Dean Henderson they did put a creatures in each extension pack. Vampire on vip, plantsim on University, simbot on ambition, Mermaid on island paradise, plumbot on back to the future, etc.
You see, Aliens were included in Base Game for TS2, Get To Work in TS4, but I think the reason why they didn't include Aliens in Supernatural was definitely because they had too much creatures for the pack: Werewolves, Vampires, Fairies, Witches, Zombies etc. The team also stated that they wanted Aliens in this pack because they are more considered on weather, rather than supernatural and that they are humans with Alien DNA and abilities so they are not occult like all other creatures are.
At this point, the concept of seasons should be part of the base game. There is still a Seasons expansion pack, but only to bring new ideas of how people act, cope, and celebrate on a specific season.
I prefer the Sims 3, it's much more fun and I love how once your in the game there's no loading screens. Unlike TS4, at the moment in doing a 100 puppy challenge on the Sims 3.
you know now that it's 2020 and the sims 4 have been out for almost 6 years, looking back on the sims 3, it seems very undetailed and lacking depth. and the review vids for Sims 4 are way shorter, so you can see how little things it actually has, hope u enjoyed my little rant
Have fun playing! Also consider watching a vid or 2 on how to reduce lag, should you have some in your game. I myself don't, but people seem to experience some in 3 :)

lol I know this is old, but +kayleecraft66 some ppl don't have personal computers. They most likely have a "family" computer that everyone shares and have multiple accounts on it or whatever.

University seems fun,I'm going to get it soon,but Seasons is my first priority to buy. Seasons adds a little more of a family-time feel to it.University does add a campus and classes,but I think Seasons is just more important to the game.It adds weather,like rain and snow,different holidays that you can only pretend is going on with the base game.But it's your choice,and you should still get University as well.I can't wait to get it!:)
+Nathanial Roy Like first person? Or Third? I like that idea, but the normal console controllers do not have the number of required buttons for the number of interactions with this game. Then, they would need to build their own controller, that is going to get expensive and the controller would not be great
That's pretty much Sims for consoles. You can control your Sims using the analog stick. You get close to an object and you press a button to interact. It's a lot of fun, though it's terrible for building/furnishing.
I actually kind of liked the direct control on The Sims 2 on my gamecube. I certainly wouldn't mind if I was put into taking care of my sim in 3rd or 1st person. Though I will admit, the console version pale in comparison to the PC version when it comes to "content".
I like the sims 4 so far, just think there's a lot of room for improvement and hope to see it coming soon. The sims 3 is great too if you add Seasons, Generations, University, LN and Pets, at least imo :D
That's why they ditched open world in 4. The Sims 3 never worked smoothly for me even on PCs designed for huge games. Yet, sims 4 works on the crappy, busted old laptop I own right now. It's why I prefer Sims 4 over Sims 3 tbh, I don't get why I don't hear this more :p all I miss is toddlers :
It works perfectly fine for me and I have a laptop made for simple editing. An easy way to make it faster is: Go to DCBackup ( Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/DCBackup ) And delete all the files in there besides CCMerged. Then go to featured items ( Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Featured Items ) And delete it all! Then head to your screenshots and delete them all or move them out of the screenshots folder.
Heyguysitsdaph I got all of them for Christmas, I originally just got base game but after 5 minutes I loved it and bought a gift voucher or two, and all the expansions 😂

There are websites which sell keys legally with a very cheap price. I use Instant-Gaming, it is trustworthy and legal. Island paradise costs 39,99 euros in origin and in Instant-Gaming it only costs around 5 euros.

Ian Jackman i have all the expansions, sunlit tides, some store content, and even custom content and my game is playable. My computer desktop was only 500 bucks and you could almost day it runs smoothly.
I watched this 8 years ago. Time to install sims 3 again and see how it plays on a 4k oled high end systm.
I don't like the sims 4 and so I still play the sims 3. in my opinion the sims 3 graphics are more realistic and that's what I like! I just really don't like how cartoonish ts4 looks.
to have everything in this one pack in TS4, you'd need: Seasons, snowy escape, get to work, and Island Living (ocean swimming)...
2:46 never thought I'd see Duke picking (and eating?) flowers, although it's nice to see he has a gentle side as well.
And now he's looking adorably clumsy on roller skates, letting the woman lead when dancing, procuring the services of a male prostitute and looking for not-easter eggs, I had no idea this is what he does when he's not murdering aliens.
Its funny to see how he doesn't sound fully into this pack but when you look at the sims 4 seasons, this is much better!
This is the review that got me to pickup Sims 3 with Seasons included and I like it alot.
If you know the cheat codes you can control the weather so it doesn't cheat you out of seasonal events and spooky day can be improved by having a town with a lot of children and teenagers which no premade town ever has but there's an incentive.

Whenever I watch these reviews I'm just reminded of how bad and empty Sims 4 is compared to Sims 3, they had so much to offer. Wish they had just carried on making expansions for Sims 3...

Yeah but you think Sims 4 would come with most of the stuff they did in XPac's for the others... But of course they wont and they'll make us buy 10-15 damn expansion just to have everything we should of had from 3.

Great expansion pack the only thing I can see missing from seasons is managing your lawn it would be really cool whenever sims 5 comes out they could have a lawn that grows you can do it yourself or tell your kids to do it if they could put that in or more maintaining of your house would be great

This expansion is mostly great, but it annoys me that it can keep freezing throughout spring and fall. In the spring season it doesn't slowly get warmer, it can still freeze two days before summer begins.
Dion7 That's realistic. It can always freeze in spring. In The Netherlands it freezes in spring.
Ik weet dat het in het echt kan, daar zit ik alleen in de Sims niet op te wachten. Het is irritant als je een moestuin hebt of visser bent en het het hele jaar door regelmatig vriest, in plaats van alleen maar in de winter. In de lente en herfst vriest het ook vaak, waardoor je eigenlijk maar 1 warm seizoen hebt. Ik had het handiger gevonden als het alleen begin van de lente af en toe vriest en het dan langzaam warmer wordt, en omgekeerd met de herfst.

Because the Spooky Day trick or treating was hit or miss, I’d typically invite over my sim’s friends for a costume party and bake a cake to serve as “candy” 😂😂 for me some sort of festivity filled the void

I really like this one too... but never understood why they chose to include aliens in this specific expansion lol. seems like it would have made more sense for them to put the aliens in supernatural IMO.
Aaron Dean Henderson they did put a creatures in each extension pack. Vampire on vip, plantsim on University, simbot on ambition, Mermaid on island paradise, plumbot on back to the future, etc.
You see, Aliens were included in Base Game for TS2, Get To Work in TS4, but I think the reason why they didn't include Aliens in Supernatural was definitely because they had too much creatures for the pack: Werewolves, Vampires, Fairies, Witches, Zombies etc. The team also stated that they wanted Aliens in this pack because they are more considered on weather, rather than supernatural and that they are humans with Alien DNA and abilities so they are not occult like all other creatures are.
At this point, the concept of seasons should be part of the base game. There is still a Seasons expansion pack, but only to bring new ideas of how people act, cope, and celebrate on a specific season.
I prefer the Sims 3, it's much more fun and I love how once your in the game there's no loading screens. Unlike TS4, at the moment in doing a 100 puppy challenge on the Sims 3.

you know now that it's 2020 and the sims 4 have been out for almost 6 years, looking back on the sims 3, it seems very undetailed and lacking depth. and the review vids for Sims 4 are way shorter, so you can see how little things it actually has, hope u enjoyed my little rant

Another way to spend spooky day is to throw costume parties! It's a nice backup to have if your trick or treating ever ends up with disappointment. :)
University seems fun,I'm going to get it soon,but Seasons is my first priority to buy.
Seasons adds a little more of a family-time feel to it.University does add a campus and classes,but I think Seasons is just more important to the game.It adds weather,like rain and snow,different holidays that you can only pretend is going on with the base game.But it's your choice,and you should still get University as well.I can't wait to get it!:)

+Nathanial Roy Like first person? Or Third? I like that idea, but the normal console controllers do not have the number of required buttons for the number of interactions with this game. Then, they would need to build their own controller, that is going to get expensive and the controller would not be great

That's pretty much Sims for consoles. You can control your Sims using the analog stick. You get close to an object and you press a button to interact. It's a lot of fun, though it's terrible for building/furnishing.
I actually kind of liked the direct control on The Sims 2 on my gamecube. I certainly wouldn't mind if I was put into taking care of my sim in 3rd or 1st person.
Though I will admit, the console version pale in comparison to the PC version when it comes to "content".

if you group up with a sim and get in a boat, you can water ski. Windsurfing is also available
Sims 3 lags so much on my PC but Sims 4 runs beautifully. It's quite annoying.

That's why they ditched open world in 4. The Sims 3 never worked smoothly for me even on PCs designed for huge games. Yet, sims 4 works on the crappy, busted old laptop I own right now. It's why I prefer Sims 4 over Sims 3 tbh, I don't get why I don't hear this more :p all I miss is toddlers :
It works perfectly fine for me and I have a laptop made for simple editing.
An easy way to make it faster is:
Go to DCBackup ( Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/DCBackup )
And delete all the files in there besides CCMerged.
Then go to featured items ( Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Featured Items )
And delete it all!
Then head to your screenshots and delete them all or move them out of the screenshots folder.

Snoogen11 Nope! I've personally never seen a sim die from the burning, and you go inside for them to cool off and its all back to normal

There are websites which sell keys legally with a very cheap price. I use Instant-Gaming, it is trustworthy and legal. Island paradise costs 39,99 euros in origin and in Instant-Gaming it only costs around 5 euros.
