I've been rocking iOS 18 beta since it came out as well (on my main device, because I'm a hooligan). So far, I haven't noticed any major issues. When I first installed it there were a couple graphical issues right after it booted up, but those haven't happened since. Same on iPad OS 18 beta. I have noticed a couple small visual bugs throughout, but nothing particularly memorable. Like you mentioned, I too have noticed the battery life being worse. I still manage to get through a whole day just fine, but it's noticably worse. At the end of a typical day on iOS 17 I'll usually have about 70% battery remaining (My battery health capacity is 98%, and I've had this iPhone 14 Pro for about a year and a half). A couple days ago was the worst for my battery. I believe at the end of the day I had seen it in the low 40s, like 43% or so. That's pretty drastic, given my relatively light phone usage. For folks who are routinely using most of their battery on iOS 17, I would guess that this will require a charge at some point during the day.
As a lifelong Android user, I can't phantom how many times you we're explaining a feature here, and I was thinking "damn, iPhone users only have this now?" T9 dialing, not calling immediately when tapping a contact's name, rearranging control center,... Really shows how far behind Apple has always been.
Elon is right. Some AI requests are indeed forwarded to OpenAI (yes, it’s opt in and yes it’s only some requests) and it’s those very requests that Elon and others are concerned about. Rightfully so - OpenAI uses users’ prompts to train their LLM which means your prompts can end up in other people’s prompt responses. OpenAI employees can also view all your prompts and OpenAI is very clear about this in their terms of service. Apple made no effort to negotiate a deal like Microsoft did whereby OpenAI is not allowed to train their model on their customers’ data and their employees are also not capable of viewing prompts. You have to take a meticulous look at how it all works and which privacy and security controls to think about in order to truly assess this topic. Most people muddy it all together and just hear things like “We remove your IP!” and “No data is logged!” and act as though privacy and security checkboxes are fully checked. The power of marketing smh.
Hey, I’m having probably a bug on iOS 18 b1. My system data is taking 44 gb on my device and it’s growing and decreasing and sometimes it forces my device to shut down. After few minutes my device automatically turns on and it directs me to apple feedback with a title of "Panic" or something like that.

On the battery life issue, I've found that with iOS 18 B1, as with most B1s before, that if I power cycle a few times I get significantly better battery life from then on. YMMV but it works on my 11 Pro Max
Leaving this comment, I feel like an old man yelling at clouds. Which at my age I guess I probably am. There’s all this hype around all the fantastic new things Siri is going to be able to do. But I haven’t heard a single person say anything about the one thing that Siri absolutely has to be able to do better that is fundamental to everything else: better understand what I am saying. So often I feel like Siri is working with 3/4 of the English dictionary. I don’t know where it put the other 25%. But maybe Apple intelligence will find it. On the other hand, maybe it’s just me. Perhaps I need to learn to speak more better
I had minor bugs like with control center. Then I hard reset my phone and it fixed it. Now I haven’t noticed a single bug and battery life is abt the same as 17
Brandon, with all due respect, I think Elon Musk knows more about AI than you. Don’t push your narrative to the audience. You truly have no clue what Apples intentions are. Only your assumptions.
I’m on iPhone 14PM and Siri no longer understands me when I say “Siri pause music!” I’ve tried multiple times and turning “hey Siri” off then back on and it still doesn’t understand
I have the iPhone 12. I finally started going in and deleting a bunch of unnecessary things and clearing up storage and it works a little bit better but still really buggy.
Is anybody else experiencing their phone crashing every 5 minutes now on iOS 18? And is there a solution or do I just have to live with it until the next beta?😅 (my system data goes up and down A LOT and idk what that means)
20:20 ish, Apple needs at least 8Gb of RAM to even work with this… but Apple says you only ever need 8Gb and everyone asking for 16Gb or 32Gb to be standard are insane.
DO NOT install iOS 18 on older iPhones! I installed it on my iPhone 11 and have a lot of issues, resprings, horrible battery life and storage issues! Just wait if you have an older phone!
Installed ios 18 dev beta on my iphone 14 pro max and the battery life when connected to Bluetooth devices like airpods or car head unit the battery drain is crazy like 30% in 1 hour!!! This doesnt happen on ios 17 at all.
But what will all the people without 15 pro and later do? I think AI should be a standard service for all of us, We paid a lot for apple’s devices. Not everyone can just get 15 pro or later just for these AI features.
I found another glitch. If you move the last page to the left slightly and release, then you'll see the App Library flash on the screen.. I saw it on my iPad Pro M1...
My iPad Air M2 randomly starts to go slower and shortly after it freezes and shuts down after 4 minutes. When it starts back up it will be frozen again and then shit down again. That will happen 2-4 times until I can finally do stuff on it.
20:20 during this segment you made affirmative statements about the privacy of Apple Intelligence however you did so relying on first party statements (Apple’s statements). The statements/claims from Apple have to be independently verified by third parties before anyone can say your personal data is actually private and not being logged and collected.
Not calling people by mistake and being able to not have two shortcuts on the bottom of phone are life changing 😅. Now if Apple would let us customize the app drawer or get rid of the buckets all together that would be awesome 🎉. Thanks so much for all your videos!

Hi Brandon, screen time works for me on iOS 18, the issue may just be device-to-device basis.
As a lifelong Android user, I can't phantom how many times you we're explaining a feature here, and I was thinking "damn, iPhone users only have this now?"
T9 dialing, not calling immediately when tapping a contact's name, rearranging control center,...
Dang. I'm starting to think that placing apple tags everywhere on everything is probably a good idea
The voice memos transcription feature isn’t working on my IPad OS 18 - I have the A12Z Bionic 2020 11 inch iPad Pro. Am I Locked out of this feature or is it only on iPhone? 5:28 Pls help on that. That is a feature i was waiting for ages.
Now I haven’t noticed a single bug and battery life is abt the same as 17
20:45 I just love how Twitter’s user-powered fact-checking feature continues to contradict Elon’s buffoonery (and still doesn’t get axed) 😂
My iPhone restarted 20 times today using the iOS 18 developer beta
That is a major bug
finally someone else who has this problem everytime i try to use any app after a couple of minutes it starts to get laggy and then restarts
@@LegoFilmStudios123 what iphone do you have, i have the xs max and even today it is sstill doing it
I have the iPhone 12. I finally started going in and deleting a bunch of unnecessary things and clearing up storage and it works a little bit better but still really buggy.
This is Lego film Studios, but my other profile
Anyone who thinks Elon Musk knows what he’s talking about needs to think for themselves. Musk is a liar. He’s a conspiracy theorist. And he’s just a mental case.
Hello, are you planning on doing a video on tvOS 18 this year just like you did for tvOS 17 last time? Thank you :)
There’s also a Reddit post with the same wallpapers free just sayin……6-14 bucks for a wallpaper is kinda crazy man
"Other than visual bugs" WTF other kinda bug would /bug/ you? Mans gonna fanboy till the phone bricks on beta
Useful video Brandon! No, I won't be even trying Apple's ai. My reason, I don't trust anything ai. I've been told that these items can send any info you tell it or questions you ask it back to their owner. I might try it later on, once I see it in action and if it proves itself a good feature.
I was kinda mad apple wasn’t bringing apple intelligence to the 14 series but then again I never used google assistant and I only use Siri to play music or turn on/off Bluetooth or WiFi or to call someone.
Just had a bug where the home bar stopped working completely. I had to restart my phone to fix it. Reported already.
Also, when I restarted it, my phone made the power up sound. I had never hear that during a restart before, only when I completely powered off and on again
I just bought an iPhone 15 because my iPhone X died, and in few months it's already partially obsolete xD
Luckily I’m not facing any bugs on my 14 pro max
