I use my hotspot a lot so I changed it to that. I have my flashlight to enable when I triple tap the back so I haven’t had the need to use on the Lock Screen
Btw, in distraction control, if you block an ad, that specific ad is blocked. If you block the same ad element across enough sessions the ad will appear a lot less or be completely removed.
Live translation on voice mail is very fine as well. Love sending spammers and scammers to voicemail now and see their speech being presented live while I glance at the screen.
idk if justs me but i want a feature where if you put a photo or video in an album you can remove it from the "main" camera roll album so it makes it feel more organized. I don't use albums because I end up just forgetting which photos and videos I put in there and I feel like this would help
Literally, I use the hidden album to keep random junk photos separate from the main album, but it would be so much nicer if there was a built in feature for it 😔

I can't find instructions to stop the automatic scrolling of my mail in the new ios18....its driving me crazy. Google misleads with instructions claiming there is a "stop scrolling" feature to toggle off...but there is none! Help please!
The new photos app is the ish! Once you learn the intricacies it’s so much easier to use and organise. I take a lot of pictures for work and finding everything is a breeze now.

Let’s says the accounts dept need a specific receipt from a specific day, I can now quickly find the picture of that receipt by searching for it via the date and time on the receipt, maybe the store name if it’s on it and the search will bring up every receipt from that store, ever, with a simple search of what’s in the picture. Have a play around with it, it’s so much better if you use the photos app for stuff other than holidays and selfies but even then it’s still useful.
I must say I don't care about almost any of the customisations except for the action button to activate my hotspot. i did it before via shortcut in ios17 and it was buggy as hell. what impresses me the most about ios18 so far is how extremely smooth the experience is. everything is snappier, more fluid, not encountered any bugs yet and my battery life improved
Can anyone help me , sharing how to use "sleep apnea" ? Does it automatically work ? Or any settings needed in health app ? I don't find any practical help in TH-cam . People are only theoretically saying as new feature & no other info available
So happy about the dual language keyboard. (although since I already had two language keyboards installed it merged them together automatically so I didn't need to do anything). This is one of the biggest features for me. I also speak both English and Portuguese and go back and forth all day long. I type really quick when I send messages and often send without reading, only to discover I had the wrong language keyboard selected so it changed my entire message to try and fit the other language which sometimes could lead to some embarrassing messages being sent.
That makes sense. Even though I’m always caught up with my messages because I don’t message much. I really need Apple add an option to regularly delete non contact messages. Every 30 days or whatever

Maybe for those who turn off Significant locations: Keep in mind that if Stolen Device Protection (which a lot of folks seem to have enabled) is on, it won’t be able to make exceptions to the 1 Hour Security delay if you are at home. So whenever you wanna change a password or anything significant on your account, you’ll have to wait an hour before being able to do so. So if you turn of Significant locations, I’d might consider turning of Stolen device protection as well.
I love the new photos app. I like that everything is right there on one page instead of having the different tabs at the bottom. I just like that it's more simplified and customizable.

Dear @Brandon, AirPrint doesn’t work as expected ever since ios 18 beta was installed on my iPhone 15 pro max. Even after the official release, the issue still persists. Moreover, the print spooler page doesn’t show up while printing. Would like you to talk about it.
I remember when the significant locations feature was able to show you how long you were at specific places on each day. I found that helpful sometimes. Now that data is hidden from the user for some reason

For security I’d like to either have my lock screen come on immediately or something shorter than 30 seconds. 30 seconds is the least amount you can choose. Can you tell me how to set that up? Thanks.
Good recommendations, however a few suggestions. Most of those features like the blinking cursor are pretty much essential at this point (not really essential but yk what I mean). It shows that the phone or computer ain’t broken, since when the cursor is just sitting there you may end up thinking your phone or pc is frozen.

Hi, I have watched other videos showing the new password app and their phone layout has a “add new group” as an icon in the bottom left corner. I have installed iOS18 on my 15 pro and mine does not have the icon - any ideas why there is a difference on some layouts and not others?- it’s a bit confusing.

It's good to see apple is allowing you to continue your music while recording.
So many iOS 18 videos out there now but yours is so much better than the others - you dig down into settings that other videos don’t even mention.
