- Jeremy with Big Daddy Unlimited discusses his IWI Zion Short Barrel Rifle (SBR) build. Jeremy is the assistant manager for Big Daddy Guns in Gainesville, Florida. He's also a competitive shooter. Although Jeremy set out to build an AR pistol, it soon became a SBR. In this video, he discusses the modifications and enhancements he made during his build and why.

Also the IWI 12.5 has a mid-length gas system. The quality and features of this rifle (or pistol) are unmatched in the industry for the price point.
Is mid-length gas system really fits such a short barrel?

Now wondering what buffer should use for the suppressor. Standard is H1
@@FrauFitzer yes. I weighed the buffer in ours and it came in @ 4oz’s. I have a sprinco red/white (contracted spring that is just a touch stronger than their white which is a standard carbine spring) and an rb5000 kynshot hydro buffer that weighs about 4.3oz’s. And without suppressor cycles perfect. I’m waiting on a tubbs 36 AND 42 coil flat wire on order….for when my ocl polonium is out of jail. But, I also have an SA agb ready for install with an FCD 6315rf and Ecco machine adapter. I’ll go as far as the tubbs 42+kynshot rb5000 for both on and off can. But the agb will take care of the fine tuning. Hope that helps. I bet you could run an H3 suppressed with a sprinco blue or tubbs 42. Unless you like A5 setup….i prefer carbine for the options offered

In my country options are limited. First, I am still choosing the right suppressor. Then the only thing I might be willing to do (if needed) is to change a buffer weight, not a spring and not touching the gas system. I need my gun to be operated flawlessly with or without suppressor with the same settings.
I bought a zion planning on upgrading to something “nicer” in a couple years but the time has come and I really don’t see a reason to. Fantastic rifle! Highly recommend even if you’re eyeing a higher price bracket.
Are you running the stock trigger or did you swap it out? And about how many rounds do you have through it and any malfunctions? Thank you
After watching this vid I had to have a IWI zion15 I went warhamner charging handle vortex 1x4x24 LPVO radian ambi 45 safety and left the rest of it alone dang what a great rifle so happy I watch this vid a wile back but just got my build done about a month ago

What's your guys thoughts on the IWI 12.5" ZION "pistol"/SBR for $749 brand new and just in general
Pure sweetness, I'm buying an iwi Zion rifle this weekend to go along with my masada.
Just picked up the 12.5 version to compliment my masada as well. Highly underrated pistol, love the masada.
How did it turn out?

@@madeintexas1213 Not in my opinion, no. I was expecting weight just based on the fact that majority of firearms IWI makes tend to be heavy, but this thing is lightweight and very well balanced. I also own a PSA 11.5, and it has taken a backseat to the Zion. Just the overall feel and quality is a step or two above the PSA. The midlength gas system makes it more enjoyable to shoot.
About 900 rounds in with zero malfunctions, and I was ringing steel out to 300 yards with minimal effort. I say if you're on the fence, just grab one. You won't be disappointed man.

Dude I was just in the shop looking for a 1-4 or a 1-6 and you recommended this. I am always wary when someone sells me something this hard. Clearly you stand behind it and I greatly appreciate that. Great video been trying to decide on an ar pistol length from factory instead of the massive price tag of a mk18 and had been going back and forth between 11.5 and 12.5. These are sold out everywhere. You are the first to mention mounting the scope higher up interesting take.

Brother like every AR comes with a threaded barrel unless it’s pinned and welded

I'm pretty new with the AR platform. What did you do to change this pistol to an sbr? Do you know if it is legal to have a forward grip on this AR? Thanks
Replaced the brace with a stock and you can have an angled fore grip.

@@jonathankohl6264 It would be legal if this particular firearm was a pistol and not an sbr to have a grip being that it's overall length is over 26 inches. You measure from the end of the threads on the barrel to the end of the buffer tube.

Good video, nice rifle. I'm looking to pick up a higher end AR, but wondering if maybe I'd be better off grabbing a Zion pistol, SBR it, and upgrade things such as the trigger, safety, and such.
decided (for now) to go with the Zion. No regrets at all.

if the Steiner has an etched reticle then other than smashing the hell out of the scope he should be ok
@@MountainBikeTx I've seen erector springs go bad, broken lenses, bent mounts... Backup irons are always a good idea.
@@jhalscott oh, i get that, but given his intended use as a truck gun and competition, I think there's no issue. Well, unless his passenger spills a milkshake on his optic and then someone tries to car jack him shortly thereafter lol
