Malcolms gear is definitely bomb proof. You can tell he loves what he does and his heart poles into his work.

+MCQBushcraft This isn't the backpack you are using, isnt it? Yours is a swedish miletary modell. I use the frame of it with a swiss lederol bag wich works perfekt as buschcraft backpack for me.

I like it. When every other pack is full of gimmicky attachments and features its nice to see something of quality that is just simple in it's design. Cheers, John

Somebody may have already mentioned this but I like how you mentioned "ferro rod with a lanyard"! LOL! lessons learned I guess, I know I did. Keep it up, I dont have the time to spend in the woods right now, so I like gear and skills vids to occupy me until I do.

Nothing better than a military style ruck! This would make a perfect day pack and the overnight video would be great. I just ordered a Warbonnet Blackbird hammock and I'm hoping to get an overnight video with it before winter. Thanks! Bob

That's a fantastic day pack, being very old school I like that a lot. Nothing fancy just good hard working pack. I'm thinking the yellow inside will be useful at night it'll reflect your head torch beam creating more light in the pack to find that lost 'needle'

i see more and more bush/woodcrafters going back to the basics. I myself purchased the frostriver sojourn a couple of months ago and i love it. Has all the room i need for a trip of 1-3days and has a nice sturdy feel to it. Too bad it doesnt have the MOLLE webbing for my axe but i do just fine like this. Nice pack, i hope it sees alot of use in the future:)

NIce overview of a well thought-out pack. I have been to the HW site, but it is good to see one of these packs examined more thoroughly. You picked a great color combo -- looks great without looking "tactical," just practical. Seems just right for its intended purpose. Add a light summer bag, and you are set for an overnighter without getting too heavy. BTW, I was a bit surprised that your ferro rod didn't have a bright orange handle and tether on it. Not ragging on you, just reflecting that you taught us all a big lesson that I have to remember to apply to some of my muted/subdued/camo gear that could easily go missing in a camp setting. Give your dog a scratch for me.
