There is def some serious planning and thought in the design and use of usable space. A+ for the large "bottle pockets" as well. I've modded my maxpedition bottle carrier and pained over the tight quarters myself. I can see right away this design would work well. I'm gonna check out some of their other gear as well. I like me some centre zip pouches. Thanks to both of you for what looks like a new kid on the block in packs.
I had a quick peek at their items up. There's a few great features I spotted immediately. 1) design your own! That's pretty neat! And the clip on the saddle roll. Instead of Velcro. To name a couple. And Canadian !! Something I can pay for in Canadian dollars and likely go and pick up when it's ready. Very cool. Thanks. Chris.
Joe, Excuse the picture and name, I changed it for good reason. I"m David Gardner and we have spoke in the past. I want to suggest a rebuild on the pack. The bottle holder flap should be sewn into an upside down cup to cover the pocket better. More like the older U.S. military ALICE pack. I am sure that you would appreciate that design a bit better. It helps keep it dry and also keeps out any debris when hiking through thicker brush. I almost forgot......it should also have cinch cords for the opening of that kind of pouch. And finally, drain hole grommets in the bottom of the pouch helps also. Cheers buddy. I love your vids and will continue to watch and have fun. Thanks for being such an awesome TH-camr.
Great looking "Scout Expedition"pack! Can't wait for trip video.Looks like that sitting/kneeling pad pocket would double perfectly as map pocket also. You did great job planning out that pack, props to you bud, but I would expect no less from a woodsman like you. Thanks bud. Keep doin what you do !
the main thing that is been annoying me whilst carrying an axe around the forest is that you can either strap it onto your belt (which is annoying when you want to sit or crouch) or take your backpack off to strap it on / put it in there. Can you put the axe back into its holder without taking the backpack off? If not, might be an idea to ask the company if they can possibly do that?
Looks great man! Really glad y'all are doing this. It's much better to have gear designed by people who actually do this stuff all the time than someone who sits behind a desk thinking up theoretical designs. The only thing I would change is the flaps on the top - I'd rather have a drawstring opening, but it's not a dealbreaker by any means.
Awesome pack..definitely a lot of thought went into it. I especially like the side pouches that will fit a nalgene.. nothing worse than having a bottle full of water swaying around when you are walking.. The strap keepers are super. The slip pockets in behind the side pockets are fantastic. you can haul anything in there... if you want to take a tripod, or a fishing rod etc..it will fit nicely...very versatile. hey there is a name for you YNOT Versa!!!! or Versabush!! Keep the videos coming
Great looking pack, Joe! Thanks for sharing on your load out, too. I always tend to over pack and watching you and others who have extensive bush craft experience is helping me adjust from trekking to bush craft camping. At 71, this is more my style now as my legs and lung capacity have changed considerably. I viewed the YNOT website and for the price for the entire package isn't bad, I'll have to add those two organizer bags as well.
Liked the strip out and clear description of what. But did all the gear go back! Look forward to the seasons trips/ adventures ,keep them coming Cheers.
Great video and great looking pack. I am not sure if you are supposed to come up with the name, but I have a suggestion. The pack seems to be hearty and a great companion, so maybe call it "the Scout". Just a suggestion...
I want it today. I'll be impatiently looking forward to this. Just recently got my hands on a small axe due to your inspiration. Thanks for the dedication and hard work.
Call it the JoeB. Suggestions: 'canter'/tilt the large side bags slightly forward so you can use them while hiking; and add little belt pouches for snacks, mini-first aid, or fishing kit.
Awesome looking pack. Love the bottom straps! Really love those side pouches. Snowpeak 900 baby!!!! Considering you and how far you range for outings....,you should call it "Nomad" Great video, looking forward to more on this. Be well brother Craig
Really excited to see this come out. I have the karrimor sabre 45 sf with side pouches which I consider to be a 3-5 day summer pack so this would fill that sweet spot for a lighter smaller yet very versatile Bushcrafter pack Great job. I vote to call it the jrb scout pack too
+JoeRobinetBushcraft Maybe name it after Scout? Since your logo and most of your videos revolve around him, being such a badass dog as he is, why not call it the Scout Backpack or something a tad more elaborate?
great looking pack. can't wait to purchase one. if it's good enough for an over nighter for you then I'm going to be in line for one as well. God bless !!
I am excited to hear about a Canadian gear maker. Will be looking forward to seeing more. On a different train of thought. I don't recall you ever talking about what you pack for first aid
+Mark Young (Shunpyke) you are right, it is because my F.A.K is very simple, some bandaids, gauze, duct tape, antibiotic cream and pain killers, it all fits in a tiny plastic bag
On the inside of the top of the liner maybe you could ask them put put a water proof clear map holder with a compass attached. That could come in handy.
Great looking pack indeed. Only minor concern is that I noticed it appears to be all single stitched as opposed to double stitched. Can't wait to see more on this pack. Thanks Joe.
Joe I think a roll top closure under the top flap would be better for a bushcraft pack. Make it more weatherproof if you decide to secure gear under just the top flap (like a quick access poncho/raingear) without breaking the weather sealed main bag.
Hi Joe, I really like your channel. Have you ever thought about doing some of your bushcraft / Backpacking adventures in the Canadian Rockies. They are so beautiful !!
I really like this video bro. I keep watching it. Lol I'm going to help with the Kickstarter on this pack, to support and to get one of these. It's great. Can't wait for your full review. And one day to do a meetup if you're interested. Ontario boys unite! Lol
Nice! One idea though.. Maybe some kind of pockets on the flaps on top to hold your misc stuff like batteries etc. then you can do away with a few loose misc bags.. Just an idea?
Great gear setup. I really like the enlightened equipment down quilts, amazing. Check it out. You wont regret it, superlight weight, warm, soft, freedom of movement unlike the mummy bags. Where is your nomad 10 solar charger? Lol
I like that pack a hell of a lot. Simple but very effective use of space. No real "dead zones" as I call them. Places on a bag that have no function. I wonder if you could get additional straps on top and on bottom? I'm a big guy and when it's cold, I have a large -20f° bag. I would like to strap that to bottom and my multilayer coat to the top. Even without the additional straps, this is a great design. Kudos to you and YNOT. Will definitely check out the Kickstarter. As far as a name goes...something simple suck as BushScout. The bag much like Scout are simple, look good in the woods and can save your ass. Keep it up. Big fan of the channel and your hard work and skills.
The past 3 days I have been searching for a bushcraft backpack that was medium sized and from the looks of it that fits my criteria. You have no idea based on the features you have shown so far on the pack they fit the very much specific features I've been looking for in a pack. Specifically axe placement side pouch sizes and a what looks to appear to be a very nice hip belt. I can't wait to see the final production of this pack
Another thought was a Velcro or zippered panel integrated with the under carry system. This would provide an even quicker and cleaner means of stowing the straps while also providing a pass through tuck away for an extra layer or wet items when you aren't out overnight. I feel like the zippered option would be more robust and better in terms of longevity. If I haven't described this well enough to visualize let me know and I'll make a sketch for you.
Great vid I'm always looking for the ideal backpack hopefully this is it love the big detachable outside pockets and the bottom straps great minds think alike keep up the great work.
Corners are a weak spot for de threading, Maybe rounded flaps for the Nalgene covers. And the side cinch straps are awesome, not enough bags with those, great for not only an axe, but a smallish .22 carry.
I knew there was a reason I haven't picked up a good pack yet. Thanks for sharing with us and ripping apart your pack in the middle of the bush.
There is def some serious planning and thought in the design and use of usable space. A+ for the large "bottle pockets" as well. +Bushcraftcambridge glad to hear that, buddy :)
Sweet pack like all the well thought out pockets and clasps!
Joe, when it comes to woodland backpacking you rule!
Sweet pack man! Hope you enjoyed your hike.
Looks like a solid pack .. Nice kit Joe

The bag looks class! you're gonna have to call it the ' Scout' I think dude. As always great video!
Looks like a very functional backpack. I like the added designs. Looking forward to future reviews and info on it.
Good Design back pack. Love the axe holder behind the side pockets.. They should name it the "The Bear"
+Dustin DeWind ya, thats a great idea for the map!
Nice pack. Lots of good ideas.
Take care,
Al
Very impressive that the twig stove fits on the side pocket! Looking forward to the kickstarter.
Joe, this pack is fantastic!! Fair play to the company. I am normally very biased to British made kit, but I cannot wait to order one of these.
the main thing that is been annoying me whilst carrying an axe around the forest is that you can either strap it onto your belt (which is annoying when you want to sit or crouch) or take your backpack off to strap it on / put it in there. That looks like some good gear :)
Thanks for sharing - Martin
Designing backpacks, as well as knives. Things are really coming along for you my friend way to go. Cheers John
+Johnathon Ayles thans buddy :)
Looks like a great Great bag Joe
Great looking pack. Practical and functional. Very well designed.
Nice setup. Excited to see the next videos
super versatile pack. the extra space for bottles and kits on the sides is excellent
+CedricAda Gear and Outdoors I thought so too!
Joe Robinet does your military style titanium canteen fit in side pocket?
Is the skycrane a better pack, or is your pack just good for its price/ size.
Nice product Joe!
Great looking pack, Joe! Thanks for sharing on your load out, too. I always tend to over pack and watching you and others who have extensive bush craft experience is helping me adjust from trekking to bush craft camping. Great pack Joe looks ideal ATB James
Great video and great looking pack. I am not sure if you are supposed to come up with the name, but I have a suggestion. The pack seems to be hearty and a great companion, so maybe call it "the Scout". Just a suggestion...
Looking good JR looking good ...bags not bad either ~Peace~
With the side pouches on, the profile reminds me of the Becker Patrol Pack, which is viewed by many as a great, classic pack.
Good stuff brother! I'm really interested in you new pack. I love the features that you displayed.
+Wingman115 Glad to hear that from you, buddy :)
I want it today. I'll be impatiently looking forward to this. Just recently got my hands on a small axe due to your inspiration. Thanks for the dedication and hard work.
+Isaac Sipe thanks buddy :)
Looks good Joe
that's sleek and clean pack. I like it.
AWESOME Bag!
Call it the JoeB. Suggestions: 'canter'/tilt the large side bags slightly forward so you can use them while hiking; and add little belt pouches for snacks, mini-first aid, or fishing kit.
Thanks for another great video Joe. Best wishes for success on the new pack design. When it's available I wanna get one.
Hey Joe that pack is awesome. liking foreword to the rest of the review on it. great channel thanks
+Robert Briscoe thanks!
Awesome looking pack. Love the bottom straps! Really love those side pouches. Snowpeak 900 baby!!!!
Considering you and how far you range for outings....,you should call it "Nomad"

good stuff Joe.
Wow that is a sweet pack!
hey joe, the lil bushcraft bag that could in the woods.
Awesome pack, very versatile. But pad pocket is a must haha.
I like it. Love the top flaps and laser cut Mollie. I would not carry the sleeping bag on the bottom however.
+Snowy Owl I hear ya.
Really excited to see this come out. I have the karrimor sabre 45 sf with side pouches which I consider to be a 3-5 day summer pack so this would fill that sweet spot for a lighter smaller yet very versatile Bushcrafter pack

+Michael Pulcini heck ya!

You need to call it The Scout!
great job guys
Love the pack. Malcolm's got a big pack coming out. Hope it has similar features. Will check out this company for sure.
On the inside of the top of the liner maybe you could ask them put put a water proof clear map holder with a compass attached. That could come in handy.
That's an exciting pack. I want 1.
+Bruce Theriault For sure!

Love this product Joe, please keep us updated on price.
+Andrew MacDonald will do!
I live in Ontario. l'm pumped to get one.
Amazing pack! Great color! One suggestion, how about more leather to give it that bushcraft-vintage looking?
Very nice backpack!
The "Scout about" pack sounds nice...
Looks good.
I really like this video bro. I keep watching it. Lol
I'm going to help with the Kickstarter on this pack, to support and to get one of these. It's great.

Get well or weller, Joe. 😉
It's nice that Tony modified a backpack based on your feedback.
Great gear setup. I really like the enlightened equipment down quilts, amazing. Check it out. You wont regret it, superlight weight, warm, soft, freedom of movement unlike the mummy bags. Where is your nomad 10 solar charger? Lol
That pack is really cool. I just checked out their site and I love the options for customizing packs. Good stuff brother
+PapaTango Bravo very cool!
Very cool. Seems like quality kit.
I like that pack a hell of a lot. Simple but very effective use of space. No real "dead zones" as I call them. Places on a bag that have no function. +bernardo ruiz very pleased to hear that. I will have more info for you and everyone ASAP
YNOT is TONY backwards
This little cutie hit 18 and never aged a day since. :-D
It should obviously should be named Scout. Thanks Joe!
I really enjoy your channel and easy going style. That said, I ain't payin' that much for a bag. Ever.
Great vid I'm always looking for the ideal backpack hopefully this is it love the big detachable outside pockets and the bottom straps great minds think alike keep up the great work.
Nice pack - I'm in!!!
Corners are a weak spot for de threading, Maybe rounded flaps for the Nalgene covers. And the side cinch straps are awesome, not enough bags with those, great for not only an axe, but a smallish .22 carry.
oh and I want a this bag! will try and scrape some cash for it! just hope you can send to UK. great work
The "JoRo"
And then do smaller and larger versions aka JoRo mini
JoRo mega etc
Great pack btw
I think JoRo is a killer name for the pack!
+Jason Parrish thanks I really like this bag
+Jason Parrish I second that! "JoRo"
+Wetland Mariachi Band Inc I think this is an awesome pack too. I'll be first in line for the JoRo.
+Wetland Mariachi Band Inc Maybe the one with the Scout logo, could be the JoRo Scout, anyway I like JoRo.
Name it the "scout" bushcraft pack for the lightweight pack and the beautiful Shepard tnx for the vid joe
good backpack
I want one as soon it comes available also love all your videos great information
+Chad Brinkman Very cool, Thanks!
Awsome pack very informative video I'm new to bushcraft thanks for the pointers.
