Not impossible, but unlikely. Gen 1-4 has been remade. Gen 5 is next and will probably be the last remake, as it's the last DS Pokemon generation, the last 2D sprite Pokemon game.
I've been saying this! AND, a New Pokémon Art Academy. It was huge with many TH-camrs and those who had a 3DS. So I see it possibly being huge on a Switch as well.
I'd love to see a XCOM-style Splatoon spinoff! I think the many different weapon types would translate super well. They could also add fun movement mechanics to make it stand out.
Splatoon spin-off in general is an idea I need, but I'm not so sure about that particular idea. But that's because I'm more of an RPG guy than a platformer guy. Give me a game that's eight different stories starring different protagonists and major characters that all expand the world as they travel across it. We could call it... Octopus Traveler.
I really love the Splatooniverse and Super Mario Future ideas. They both seem like great ways to put a fun new spin on these huge IPs. And I can't wait for Nintendo to not do any of this because Arlo is just so much more creative and Nintendo should really hire him.
My buddy works for a major company and they were told preorder for switch 2 is Feb and release is April. Mario Kart is the only launch title they know about.
The fact that Mario Kart wasn't mentioned at all when it's been 10 years since the last new one is kind of crazy. Especially considering how well it went last time they launched a new console with a Mario Kart.

Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future where my evil is law. Now, the fool seeks to return to the past and undo the future that is Bowser!”
I'd say it's unlikely that the system will cap at 1080p when the point of the scaling tech is to push the image to higher resolutions on lower-powered hardware, but then again I've seen Nintendo do weirder things to fit their own internal logic.
If the system is similar to the Switch with a dock, how can it upscale the image on your TV? It could work for handheld mode, but not on your TV. Nintendo is the type to try to lock things in and leave them there. I personally see no reason to ever go past 1080p 60fps. Humans are never satisfied, always gotta go better, what was once OMG AMAZING will always fade and your ego will turn to hate it and want more, like a drug, the effects start off strong, then fade and you need a higher hit to get the same feeling. This is an addict at that point.
@@ItApproaches I'm not sure I follow your point. Look up how Nvidia DLSS and other image reconstruction methods work. They take a smaller rendered image and use complex algorithms to construct a higher resolution image without as much of a hardware hit as rendering the target resolution directly. Nintendo's already used a software version of this idea with Nintendo Switch Sports, and the repeated word is Switch 2 will have hardware components dedicated to this functionality. So the Switch 2 makes a 720p or 1080p image (or lower), and then uses this hardware function to optionally output a 1440p or 4K image that looks like it was made at that resolution, or a close approximation.
I could imagine they put some upscaling hardware into the dock, because you wouldn‘t need it for handheld mode. At that screen size, a 1080p OLED would be fine.
@@Cornyfisch OLED screen for handheld is not a good thing. When playing outside, glare becomes a massive issue and you can't she shit. LCD is perfectly fine.
@@SetsuneW Say you hook up your Switch 2, to a 720p monitor, and the Switch 2 can upscale to 1440p, well the monitor it's attached to can't do that, so what happens to the quality when the system is trying to display 1440p when the screen (monitor) can't go that high?
i just gotta say it has been amazing following arlo since just before the switch era. this is the first console era where i've really been "plugged in" on all the latest news and events, and arlo's been my major source of news and takes this whole time. the switch really feels like "my" console and i'm glad arlo could be a part of that
I think Pokemom Legrndd Kyurem will be announced during the Pokemon Day Presents, but we'll get the best looking trailer at the presentation. Also, Pokemon always gets the Froday before Thanksgiving slot (November 22nd this year) and I don’t think that will change.
I just hope they don’t actually do another Legends game and instead take some of the new ideas like the combat system and open world into an actual B/W remake that combines both B/W and B2/W2
That concept for Super Mario Future is really interesting. Mario could have moves where he launches himself into the air by smacking the ground or lunges forward by throwing the hammer like Thor. And since the hammer’s futuristic, it could also have some feature that allows it float in midair and be jumped on like Cappy, allowing the devs to maintain all of odyssey’s moves in this game. They could even pull moves from the rpgs such as the ability to “golf” enemies or objects with the hammer or to swing the hammer in circles to do a “tornado” style move. Not to mention the numerous ways the hammer could affect combat or puzzles. Nintendo’s gotta make this into an actual game.
One thing to note about this: if Legends: Kyurem ends up being announced, it's much more likely to be announced on Pokemon Day rather than during the February direct, as they have only announced entirely new games during pokemon for the past few years and they have little reason to break that streak I'd say
My sole prediction is that the next Donkey Kong Country game will take place across different planets. We’ve been through DK Island itself in Returns, several other islands in Tropical Freeze, so my bet is that Retro Studios will complete their DKC trilogy by exploring DK’s universe with new alien villains. I’m just certain that’s what the next game will be, even if not 2024.
When did Retro have time to make this? Are you saying they made it during the past 10 years since Tropical Freeze and then simply sat on it? I doubt it. Not everything needs a trilogy to be "complete". Retro has been working on Prime 4 so there is nothing DK from Retro right now. IF, they want to make a third game, then that would be after Prime 4, and years away, like 3 more years.
They actually had concept art for moon levels in DKCR or Tropical Freeze, I think the latter. Space would be a great setting for another DK since it would be so different and new from all 5 prior games. I don't think though they'd do a whole game just in space, maybe one world, but not more. Anyways, it will be years before Retro Studios can release another DK still being busy with Prime 4.
Slight issue with your Pokémon prediction, Game Freak & TPC tend to linger on the old system for longer than most. So their 2024 game will likely be Switch 1-only & revealed on TPC’s own terms, separate from Nintendo proper. Likewise, your hardware predictions for the Switch 2 video fly in the face of known Nvidia leaks.
This felt more like a Nintendo fanfic extravaganza, than predictions on the future of the industry... Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but I was expecting a self insert at any point. 😂
I thought you did pretty good with your predictions from last year and even if you don't get any of your predictions right for this year. This was probably your best predictions video you ever made.
Why are you surprised? Nintendo has never made a 3D Mario sequel....You could bring up Galaxy 2, but that only happened because Nintendo had left over ideas from Galaxy 1 that didn't make it into the game, and back in the Wii days, there was no DLC. So they had to release it as a new game.
Love the video. I just hope you're wrong about the first prediction sadly. I wasn't actually a fan of the Returns/Dread controls at all and the game itself hasn't aged much except in fidelity and maybe physics/indicators.
@@thespeedyyoshi For switch 2? Yeah I agree. I mean we’ve been hearing rumors of a “switch pro” since 2018 before it was so laughably obvious no one knew anything that they course corrected to switch 2. I really am hoping for a full fledged StarFox game myself, and not just a tie in with another IP or some remake of 64 with cruddy controls, but a full fledged new game with an actual new story. Personally a SF game along the lines of Rebel Galaxy Outlaw would be absolutely wonderful, especially since the main point of RG:O was that you were a badass fighter pilot
That would be dope! I always envisioned it with 6-8 different pilots and you can select which wingmen you want to take with you on any givenission. Also depending on who is on your squad different storylines or events happen. 5 paths instead of 3. Combination of rail shooters and dogfighting of course.
As weary as I am about Gamefreak even touching Unova again I think I'd be down for a Legends sequel centering an old version of it, or pretty much anything not attempting to remake the original games. If it were up to me I'd just remaster them with the UI redone to be on a single screen.

@@ItApproaches its been 10 years since a dkc game so were definitely due for one already, and i cant imagine them covering the donkey kong expansion in the direct (which they will certainly do) without addressing the 10 year old elephant in the room
@@blar3499 They wont talk about the DK Expansion in a direct lol. Directs are for games. An expansion is not the same as how they included mentioning the entire park. That was a global big deal, an expansion is not. And F-Zero and many IP's have been away for a long time, Nintendo doesn't address them. Pikmin 2 to 3 was 9 years. Pikmin 3 to 4 was 10 years, Metroid Dread was a 19 year wait. Prime 3 was 16 years ago....and Prime 4 is still not here yet. Nintendo does what they want, not what the fans cry for. That's why they have bee around so long. There will eventually be a DK game again yes, but not likely till at best after the new system launches. It wont be on Switch. ( I would love that as Tropical Freeze is arguably the best 2.5D Platformer ever made. I forgot to put this on your Switch 2 video, but that video did make me think of what other potential alternate twists the Switch 2 could bring, and the best thing I could come up with was making the primary focus of Switch 2 is being a VR system. It'd still be playable just like the Switch, but it would be lightweight enough that you could slot it into a special headset bundled with the console and use it to play VR. Personally, the coolest part for me if this happens wouldn't just be that we've got a new easy way to play VR, but that Nintento would go all out in developing first-party VR games and pushing the boundaries of what games could be in VR.

As a person with the INTP personality which is logician, meaning I operate off logic unlike 97% of humanity, and as one who's hyper aware, and has a 141 IQ which is low end genius, I tend to see all the little things the masses don't. I have a bit of a sense for forseeing some things. Some may call it lucky, but there is no such thing as luck. Pokemon Day and it's Direct is next month, I invite you to return to this chat after that Pokemon Presents and you may say "You got lucky...." lol While 2025 would be the 15 year mark since Black/Whites release, they COULD do B/W remakes in 2025, but that would mean this years game would have to be a spin off such as a new mystery dungeon or something. Not impossible, but unlikely. Gen 1-4 has been remade. Gen 5 is next and will probably be the last remake, as it's the last DS Pokemon generation, the last 2D sprite Pokemon game.
About Thousand Year Door... I think that Luigi's story will be a fully playable side saga.
Got to hope for it, even if it's unlikely.

A new Nintendogs game has the potential to be HUGE. Long overdue
I've been saying this!
AND, a New Pokémon Art Academy.
It was huge with many TH-camrs and those who had a 3DS. So I see it possibly being huge on a Switch as well.

It feels just like last year we were watching Arlos predicting Nintendo's 2023. Good times.

I can’t wait for a Kirby Eshop game to get revealed and dropped in the same direct just cuz people never predict it

I'd love to see a XCOM-style Splatoon spinoff! I think the many different weapon types would translate super well. They could also add fun movement mechanics to make it stand out.
Heh, get Ubisoft to make them like with the MarioxRabbids crossovers
Something like Mario + Rabbids than.
2024 is going to be an incredibly quiet year from Nintendo
I really love the Splatooniverse and Super Mario Future ideas. They both seem like great ways to put a fun new spin on these huge IPs. And I can't wait for Nintendo to not do any of this because Arlo is just so much more creative and Nintendo should really hire him.
Very true.
You have a point.
I don't think they have any rule about Muppets working for them.

I like the part of the switch 2 direct is when Goomba Silverhand says “wake the fuck up plumber, we have a castle to burn”
My buddy works for a major company and they were told preorder for switch 2 is Feb and release is April. Mario Kart is the only launch title they know about.
8:02 ah yes the PS5, the most futuristic floating tower ever
Arlo I hope you know I am always excited to see a new video from you. Thank you for the predictions, opinions, silliness, and all the videos!
The fact that Mario Kart wasn't mentioned at all when it's been 10 years since the last new one is kind of crazy. Especially considering how well it went last time they launched a new console with a Mario Kart.
Arlo's fantasies are so detailed in these annual videos that I wonder if he remembers some of them by accident as facts when trying to remember what really happened every year XD
I love these videos but they make me feel a little sad by the end, like... well, the fantasy is over...
Great work with this!! The Mario game concept sounds awesome and I really really really hope for Switch 2 this year! ⭐️
I love the full backward compatibility because that gives a lot of hope for the Switch Flash Cart

Your annual prediction videos are easily my favorite.
I don't have high expectations for Nintendo this year, but I enjoy hearing what others are hoping for!
Re: Super Mario Future
“Long ago in a distant land, I, Bowser, the king of all koopa kind, unleashed an unspeakable evil. But, a foolish plumber, wielding a magic hammer stepped forth to opposed me.
Agreed, & I also think it won’t get a Switch 2 version.
Nah, Pokemon Black/White Remakes coming November.

Next 3D Mario should be ‘Super Mario: A Space Odyssey’
Holy smokes this was so well made. Thank you Arlo!

These prediction videos are so much fun :) Im so happy you spend time doing these every year!!
We need a Arlo's most accurate/best predictions video
6:00 wait until Arlo finds out about Animal Shelter Simulator for PC
I love these speculation videos! I want Pikmin 4 dlc so badly
I will gladly give you those partial points for Daisy and Mario Rpg. Your predictions ARE way more accurate than anything I'd come up with
I'm a simple man. I see a new Arlo video, I watch, I'm happy.
“Aiding ->” I love Kane so much 😂😂
One thing to note about this: if Legends: Kyurem ends up being announced, it's much more likely to be announced on Pokemon Day rather than during the February direct, as they have only announced entirely new games during pokemon for the past few years and they have little reason to break that streak I'd say
I want my boi King K Rool as well as the Kremlings
When did Retro have time to make this? Are you saying they made it during the past 10 years since Tropical Freeze and then simply sat on it? I doubt it. Not everything needs a trilogy to be "complete". Retro has been working on Prime 4 so there is nothing DK from Retro right now. IF, they want to make a third game, then that would be after Prime 4, and years away, like 3 more years.
@@ItApproaches That’s why I ended my comment with "even if not 2024"
They actually had concept art for moon levels in DKCR or Tropical Freeze, I think the latter. Space would be a great setting for another DK since it would be so different and new from all 5 prior games. I don't think though they'd do a whole game just in space, maybe one world, but not more. Anyways, it will be years before Retro Studios can release another DK still being busy with Prime 4.
My prediction is that the switch 2 wont be happening until at least 2027. The switch is still selling enough to survive at least 10 years
Slight issue with your Pokémon prediction, Game Freak & TPC tend to linger on the old system for longer than most. So their 2024 game will likely be Switch 1-only & revealed on TPC’s own terms, separate from Nintendo proper. Likewise, your hardware predictions for the Switch 2 video fly in the face of known Nvidia leaks.
i love those videos from Arlo, they give me that spark of fantasy and childish joy that i tend to miss in holiday season beeing an adult :')
This felt more like a Nintendo fanfic extravaganza, than predictions on the future of the industry... Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but I was expecting a self insert at any point. 😂
He's hedging his bets too much on his Switch 2 concept
You are absolutely correct.
And that's why these predictions videos are always so fun!
the mr bubs splash screen for nintendogs fucking caught me off guard so bad lmfao
I thought you did pretty good with your predictions from last year and even if you don't get any of your predictions right for this year. This was probably your best predictions video you ever made.
Those fake badges genuinely made me chuckle
It's OK Arlo, I am also surprised we didn't get an Odyssey sequel.
Why are you surprised? Nintendo has never made a 3D Mario sequel....You could bring up Galaxy 2, but that only happened because Nintendo had left over ideas from Galaxy 1 that didn't make it into the game, and back in the Wii days, there was no DLC. So they had to release it as a new game.
praise the editor, the art is a neat touch!
I really like the concept for the Splatoon spinoff. I always wanted a new Splatoon game that was a spinoff instead of a 3 and now 4.
Arlo, my brother in Christ, this isn’t a predictions video, this is fanfiction
Except for the nso and priving for games. That sounded like a nightmare
Love the video. I just hope you're wrong about the first prediction sadly. I wasn't actually a fan of the Returns/Dread controls at all and the game itself hasn't aged much except in fidelity and maybe physics/indicators.

Arlo saying “That’s it?” About the Febuary direct yet we’re here in April with no direct😭
….I still believe.
Screw the rumors of 2025. We’re getting a reveal sometime this quarter.
@@thespeedyyoshi For switch 2? Yeah I agree. I mean we’ve been hearing rumors of a “switch pro” since 2018 before it was so laughably obvious no one knew anything that they course corrected to switch 2. How nuts would it be to get Metroid Prime 4 AFTER switch 2

At what point does a predictions video become a wishlist?
Great job on this video you guys! The creativity from Arlo is off the charts, even taking previous years into account, and the subtle humour of the editing from our boy Kane just makes this a video I'll be rewatching for years!
(If you were worried all the work that goes into these videos kinda goes to waste cuz they only get watched once and discarded--WRONG! I rewatch all of the end of year reviews and predictions from across the years!)
Yay, prediction video, 2023 is complete 🎉
Surprised no new Mariokart as a launch title for Switch 2 prediction?
Nope. Just 8 again with another expansion pass.
Probably one of those "minor details" he said he wouldn't be talking about this year.
Nintendo will bundle the entire MK8&DLC, call it MK8 DELUXE TURBO CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION and sell it for $80 bucks
8:08 "I'm a Doctor Mario, but probably not the one you were expecting."
a new dk game this year is so likely, theyre gonna cover the theme park expansion in the february direct and then do the one more thing and announce a 3d dk game, just like they did when they announced pikmin with pikmin bloom, and animal crossing with isabelle in smash
There is no logical connection to a real world theme park and Nintendo's plans for current video games. You are grasping at straws.
If a new one is made, aka a new 2.5 D one, Retro would make it and they are busy with Prime 4. Maybe after they will go do a third DKC game. ( I would love that as Tropical Freeze is arguably the best 2.5D Platformer ever made. As for a 3D DK game...ehhhhhh that's a big risk, sadly DK doesn't have the draw power that Mario does, it would fall into the sales of being a Kirby or Yoshi game.
@@ItApproaches they still havent gone into detail about the expansion yet though, also an in house donkey kong game has been rumored for a while now
@@blar3499 A lot of shit has been "rumored" for years lol. That's part of the industry. But Nintendo isn't like other devs. They don't have leaks much. As there are massive consequences to breaking that trust. Your life will be over if you leak shit, so all these youtubers and journalists who say "I have a source" that says "a certain monkey is getting some love soon!" a sad but amazing comment
As a huge Splatoon fan, I'd LOVE to see a Splatoon single-player focused spin-off full game. All for it!!
You're a kickass TH-camr dude. Keep it up.
