    The ear infections , mucous build up , and overall lowering of the immune system is enough reason to give up the contaminated dairy.

    I've been without dairy for the last 22 days..I really miss cheese in all it's forms 😩 but in return, my stomach has gone flat, I've lost the man boobs (which I've never been able to do with regular diet) and my skin is a lot clearer.. Definitely worth it.

      Woah, interesting. I've had times in my life, where I've allowed myself to get severely underweight, while also working out, and STILL couldn't get rid of my man boobs, or the stomach pouch... I was as low as 122 pounds at one point... So, now that I'm trying to lessen my dairy consumption, your comment is a major motivator. I hope it works 🤘😎.

      It's okay to have cheese once in a while, it's not as bad as pounding a gallon of milk. Gotta live it up. Congrats on the positive transformation!

    Also another good source of calcium is Sesame seeds. Those sesame seed snacks or even hummus/tahini

    • @carnivoroussarah
      @carnivoroussarah ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We don't need that much calcium. Dairy industry influenced the RDIs in the US. We only need 500mg. Plus the calcium in milk may not be well absorbed because we are as a species not tolerant to dairy. We can get plenty from meat, eggs, and plants. Many people report feeling better and rarely do we see calcium deficiency or symptoms of it when people cut it out. For better bones, get more sun and eat more magnesium rich foods.

    What made you decide to walk away from your father’s Baskin-Robbins empire?
    When my uncle, Burt Baskin, died of a heart attack at the age of 54, I asked my dad if he thought there could be any connection between his death and the amount of ice cream he would eat. (He was a very big man who ate a LOT of ice cream.) My dad said, “No, his ticker just got tired and stopped working.” I could understand why my father would not want even to consider the possibility that there might be a connection between ice cream and heart disease. He had by that time manufactured and sold more ice cream than anyone in the history of the planet. But I felt a responsibility to look into it. And I came to the conclusion that ice cream, which is full of saturated dairy fats and sugar, was indeed linked to heart disease.
    An ice cream cone isn’t going to kill anyone, but the more you eat, the more likely you are to have heart disease, diabetes, and many other problems. If you’re in the ice cream business, you want people to eat a lot. That’s the business model. And I didn’t want to make my living selling a product that might be undermining anyone’s health. Also, I visited the large commercial dairies where Baskin-Robbins got its dairy products, and I saw how the cows were treated. It broke my heart to see them treated so poorly. I found the idea of profiting from such cruelty to be appalling.
    You wrote your first book, Diet for a New America, in 1987. What has changed since then?
    There is a lot more awareness now that animals in factory farms and feedlots are routinely subjected to horrible conditions. And a lot more people are standing in opposition to this systematic cruelty. And there is also a lot more awareness about the connection between industrial meat production, greenhouse gas emissions, and the destabilization of our climate.

    My only dairy is cheese for tacos. My brother drinks milk every day, and he's obese, plus sour smelling to the point where i had to ask if he (or mature humanity) is lactose intolerant.
    By contrast, sometimes i smell "rich" from all the seasoning of chili, curry chicken, etc, but never outright sour like off milk of a dairy drinker.
    The only thing that really makes me stink is coffee, which is brutal as my body tries to expel it as fast as possible.
    Not just dairy, try limiting your coffee and the people around will be happier.

    Egg shells are made up of 99% calcium carbonate (the most bioavailable form of calcium known to humans). One half an egg shell provides the body with 1000mg of calcium carbonate which is the equivalent to 5 cups of regular milk. In addition to the calcium, the translucent layer on the inside of the egg shell is pure collagen, the building blocks of cartilage, tendons, ligaments, tissues and more.

    • @ashtonlynnmarie
      @ashtonlynnmarie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He sort of touched on this… ish. Human milk does have lactose but in lower amounts. He touched on that as we wean off mom’s milk as an infant or toddler (depending on how long you choose to breastfeed), you digestion’s enzyme, lactase, begins to decrease. So unless you’re breastfeeding into adulthood…. Your ability to digest the lactose sugar goes down. Lactose-free dairy is an option HOWEVER, there are so many more issues that he addresses that are still present in lactose free PLUS the ethical issues with consuming any dairy. See “dairy is scary” for more. Hope this helps!
