    Thank you so much, also as one person have commented, if you are getting worse or no improvement for your temperature, it could be that your VRAM pads are too hard at 1mm. I changed mine to 0.5mm on the VRAM memory, and 1mm on the VRMS, temperature dropped by 15 degrees.

  • @MyFlamingoe

    For those who encounters extreme temps after repasting. One problem I encountered was my core temps were running at 90C above after I repasted. I noticed that the newly applied paste did not touch the gpu heatsink so I added more paste than usual and made sure I pressed on the gpu while I turned the screws. Now my GPU is running like new!

      Relieved someone had issue with this cause my gpu fans kicked to 100% a few times while gaming and when I checked task manager I saw my gpu temp were hot! Gonna try adding more paste and new thermal pads

      I’m still having issues with overheating and tried adding more pressure when securing the back plate of the card but still getting temp at 90c and hotspots at 110-115c. What else should i do?

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try to use a reputable good quality pads & paste..then clean your heatsink fins and fans thoroughly..then when putting it back together..make sure all screwed in properly to prevent unwanted gaos between die and heatsink..check if fans all working during heavy loads

    • @MyFlamingoe
      @MyFlamingoe ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ItzFreddyboy Just to be sure, were talking about core temps here right? Also, check if there was proper contact between the die and the heatsink. You'll know based on how the thermal paste looks like after assembling.

    Bless you man. I've just purchased a Second hand 3060TI Gaming OC and it was running at 85+ degrees. Changed the paste & pads and now it's a whole 20-25 degrees lower :D
    Btw, is this a common issue with this card or with higher TDP cards? The old thermal paste was literally DUST.

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's brillant bro, well done! That's a big difference drop! Pads ang paste normally lose their performance over time..that's why even manufacturer suggest to change them once or twice a year when your gpu getting older to maintain the peak performance. And its important to clean the fans and heatsink as well regularly

    Thank you very much sir! .This video was actually very useful.i have a question and i would very much appreciate an answer .I have the gigabyte12gb 3060 gaming oc and i have seen in many gpus like the one in the video that the fan cables are touching the heatsink of the gpu.Is there a chance to melt those tiny cables? because when gaming gpu often run as hot as 80 degrees and i was wondering if these cables can withstand those high temperatures of the heatsink.

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi bro! Those cables are design to withstand high heat..but most gpu's that has cable's run close to heatsink are mostly wrap up with protective shields..if you're worried about it, you can wrap the cables with electrical (insulation) tape only those areas that's close to heatsink that also protect the wire from rubbing on the sharp areas of the heatsink.

      Oopps! Be very careful with all the cable wires because they are very delicate and can easilly be torn and ripoff..its best to use those special pliers to remove them, check on my description those orange handle pliers so handy to jave those. And they are very cheap to buy in Amazon. Or maybe use a Tweezer or longnose pliers.

      Just play a few games to let the card heat up (not just the core) and then try disassembling it. When the thermal paste and pads are room temperature are harder and they stick even more.

    If I want to replace the fans on my rtx 3060ti do I need to also reapply thermal paste and thermal pads like you did to make the heat sync work once reassembled? I’ve never taken apart a gpu before but mine is making this really annoying grinding noise at 2200 rpm

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately, yes..on this particular model you have to detach the pcb (board) to access the screw that holds the heatsink and front shroud, and the fans cable wire can only be removed by doing this..so, you have to repaste with a fresh one (gpu die), but the thermal pads is not really necesary to replace them with a new one if the old one still intact and good condition.

      You could do that like what you see in the video, just make sure you put enough amount to spread to the edges..and do it nice and slow to make sure both flat surface from gpu die and heatsink plate in good contact so the paste would spread evenly. Or you could spread the paste with spreader, spread and cover the whole die plate..a lot of people use this technique and it works.

      Not necessarily to change the pads, if still in good shape. But you have to reapply a fresh thermal paste every time you separate the gpu die from its heatsink spreader. But on this particular card, you can take the Frontshroud apart without separating the heatsink from the die.

      @TakeThatScrewOut  ปีที่แล้ว

      This card i've done on this video still had its Factory sealed Sticker on the screw before i started to shoot the video, i just did scrape it to look clean..but maybe you're right man. And posibly, when we measure the thickness using the Caliper tool, sometimes we can't get the exact actual measurements due to the softness of the Pads..but the difference is very minimal..

    • @markspitz15
      @markspitz15 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I confirm, that all are 1mm EXCEPT the pads for memory. These are 0,5mm. I tried the 1mm in the VRAM and was bad idea... GPU goes over 84°C because of the gap that thermal pads left. So after putting the correct 0,5 to vram and new thermal paste to GPU I run benchmarks that were around 79°C before any change to less than 69°C.
      Remember that my GPU is a Gigabyte GeForce 3060Ti Gaming OC Pro REV 1.0
      For me seems to be logic that thickness aren't the same from REV 1.0 to REV 2.0, because they actually change heap design, so make sense.

    Mine was stuck, I really struggled to take it apart.
    The original paste was cooked, solid concrete.
    I put some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaught.
    After the paste I saw that it took longer for the GPU to reach it's max temperature and also managed to get 83°C instead of 89°C.
    The only solution to cool off this board is by undervolting.
    I settled for 925mV instead of 1025mV, seems to run at 1200MHz.
    At this point I have 78°C and I think I didn't lose any performance.
