- Ever since I found out about quickshifter was always Curious on how they worked and how they felt. Well I got this CBR650R and found out that there was an OEM part for this. Well I figured out that the installation should fit be fairly simple.
Well this is not an install video it is more about my experience how I did it and what my thoughts are after riding it around a bit. Please enjoy

It definitely looks like more fun pretty surprised how easy it was love the OEM just straight attachment another enjoyable one thanks man👍👍
Always love getting advice from a mechanic who looks like he got his tools from the dollar store.
Harbor Freight so yes. Its because expensive tools and cheaper tools don't work the same, I get what you are trying to say.
After picking up my 2019 CB650RI realized that it has a quick shifter and I've not ever had one on any of my motorcycles so thanks for the quick review
I am 57 years old and have been riding motorcycles since I was 7 years old …. My dad rode bikes …. He said you need a clutch to pull out or stop …. He always shifted up or down while riding …. He didn’t use his clutch except to pull out or when he hit 2nd gear …. He said it’s all in the rpm range …. He said flick the wrist as you shift up and when you down shift really focus on a low speed or low rpm’s and start to slow down early…. So I’ve done this my whole life …. I rarely ever use a clutch …. Now that a quick shifter is available I will be going in this direction…. Very smart
Still trying to learn the clutchless downshift. I can see if being useful if I can teach myself to do it and make it an everyday action when I ride
Thanks for the content
Great video! Hoping the OEM works on my '20 model
This was super helpful and I will definitely be picking one of these up. Can you tell us how to disable quick shifter if you wanna disable it for some reason or just wanna up shift manually?
Just installed mine 5mins ago. Totally agree you do not need to remove the tank. Just about to take it out and test
You gotta give me some feedback man. I feel as if I'm going to get spoiled and when I ride other people's bikes forget to shift.
@@SmallEngineVelocity it’s good. But it hurt my brain for a while. Not blipping the throttle and pulling the clutch seems weird. It is a little slow also. I can change quicker the old fashioned way for sure.
@@Noony79🤣 you are faster with manual clutch in the car too?, 10ms automatic vs manual? i have quick shifter on f900r and i love it...
@@iulikdevDumb comment. Not all quickshifters are equal. Cordona for example is completely configurable. This is a cheap oem shifter. It’s slower than I can change with the clutch simple as that.
do we need to disable tractioncontrol when using qs?
I am still on the fence about doing this mod. 37 years of riding never needing one, buy I probably will. I actually rented am R7 once with one on it but never used it because I didnt know it had one on it. OH, well.
It’s fun
Did you see the shifter test? It’s available to members right now
Is it ok to put quickshifter in all types of motor even in small cc displacement?
Maybe but I've never seen a quick shifter in a small cc. I've seen auto manual or clutch less
Thanks, man!!
Does it work on non-abs models?
I can’t see a reason it wouldn’t have the connector. If you can check for the connector under your tank , that could be the best answer.
Can you get a autoblipper on these 650r?
Yea … OEM too!
@@SmallEngineVelocity Thank You.
Can the quick shifter work on a 2022 Cbr 600 RR
You mind sending me the link so I could get it
The 650r and the 600rr use different ones. The 600rr is a bit more expensive but about the same completely with install. Check eBay
Will the quick shifter work with CB350?
I'm not sure as this one is designed for the 650.
you need to mod the ecu to install??
No, the ECU from CBR650R is programmed for the Quickshifter.
Unter the Tank, by side from Airbox have a free, blue Cable Connector, that is for the OEM Quickshifter.
Only instal and connect the Quickshifter, that's all
Also, can people still pop a wheelie with a quick shifter? I’m not a wheelie person but I am curios.
I think you can with traction control off but I wouldn't do it
OEM does not mean made by Honda. It means installed bv Honda as original device. E.g. if Honda decides to install Brembo brakes they wilkl be OEM for this specific model and because of that Honda will provide warranty not Brembo.
P.S. I knew in the beginning you were going to go OCD with it being silver. LOL
Lol
Just quickshifter up or down to
Just up , no down. I did learn how to downshift with the throttle tho. Still makes take off super faster
Can you send me the link.. TIA
check the description I think I linked it
@@SmallEngineVelocity is not there
What about down shifts
good question, only up shifts
