2:34 So glad this step was done, as the adhesive sticks so much better to itself and gives greats contact……making it one; compared to just adding to bench or wall board and sticking it on…..great job taking few extra seconds to do this👍🏻👍🏻
Ok, if my eyes are right….thats a huge shower at 5’x10’ (ok, edited to say… might be 8’x10’) I’d almost recommend heated floors for shower that big. But Sal does great job as usual, so already know end result gonna be watertight and beautiful Cheers✌🏻 19:33 and was right, when have big shower……gotta get customers to go heated floor, if don’t, you will be cold the entire time
Long time viewer Sal 😊 How long did this job take you? And since tiling is hard on the body, what’s your plan for aging and continuing to work? Maybe scale your time down? Keep up the good work.
God Bless You Sir Your a Hard Working Man! May God Continue to Bless The Work of Your Hands! Jesus Christ Loves You and Thank You For Your Videos.. im trying my hand at first big remodel...theres lots of things to learn...i feel like im never going to get it complete... its taken me long time im not fast because spine issues pain makes me make mistakes and cant focus from it its such a distraction...but i thank God I still can do what i can!
Why specifically roofing tar paper over the plywood and under the lathe? Could other material be used, like 6-12mil pvc, if its just so plywood does not suck out the moisture out of the bed? Also, is that a new apprentice or just this project help? Great video, showing how (what strategy to use) to mud-bed big shower. 👍👍👍
@ Amazing work! Years of experience show in every step of the way. Have not seen longer video from you in a while so this was a treat for sure. Thanks for sharing Sal. 💪
Just curious with mud packs. I've been doing tile showers for 30 plus years. I have done hundreds of pans and "never" used wire in my pans with zero issues. I have tore out pans that never had wire as well and they were solid. Do any of you experienced shower guys pack pans without wire?
I am just wondering you started first wall above bench and second from floor so how did the lines connect 100%? I mean I know that you can measure it but still if you were a little bit off it would show
@ I know it’s easy when you know. I have a little experience but I am trying to be better. I don’t know your reasons to start above the bench but my guess is because the bench is touching floor so you didn’t have all full wall line flat to start from bottom and I know middle wall goes first.
@@Vertikala-pc5ig I would imagine Sal brought the tile down on the left side of the bench then lined up the laser level with that tile run... (guessing here...).
Kind of showing the whole shower you went from wet shimming to the screws being in and didn't show screwing the screws in in the first couple minutes. But okay, I didn't know you. Wet shimmed everything. Got it plumb and then put screws in, but you didn't show it........... A line or linear drain hooked up with a membrane system. Oh, no....... Would have been better to be hooked up to a traditional 3 piece drain. The showers have been proven to last longer. Traditionally than these membrane systems that already are leaking and have videos on TH-cam showing so especially with these line. Drains hooked up with membranes and not a traditional 3 piece...... What is that a 3/8 trowel You're using and not a 1/2 inch.???........cutting inside again, lololol. ........... Nice change from the typical metal trim, love the bullsnose!......... I do like how you sealed up with thin set and silicone around the tub drain. Although nobody really knows the long-term effects of these in shower tubs, because I mean, I've seen them hooked up where the shower PAN is pieced together like you did with the membrane and nobody knows if they're gonna hold.........no silicone! Yay!.... Oh wait, you just didn't show it. You're gonna put silicone...... Very nice looking shower....... Yeah, and I do not like the look of the bottom row of the seat being on an angle because of the pitch of the shower, just looks off.
Such a waste of labor and energy raising that tub area. Could've easily framed it in within an hour and saved your back and knees, and achieved the same result.
I watched your videos 8 years ago to learn how to do a custom shower pan the right way. It still looks great and works great. Leak free. Thanks Sal
I often troll for fun but Sal. Dude your tile work is second to none on the TH-cam tile space. Amazingly clean and perfect.
Thanks 👍
Agreed. Think I’ve been subscribed to this channel and watching his mastery for the better part of 15 years.
Yeah, like I said before, he is the master, I've become a much better tile man by watching the master, thank you Sal.
😊👍 Thanks for that
Nice job as always Sal. That is a monster!
Thanks 👍
Awesome job, damn you work fast!
Very nice job brother Sal, Take care and stay safe. Merry Xmas
You're a beast, nice job.
Appreciate it!

Paper as you say just to maintain moisture in the mud, plastic will also work, PVC or anything that is non absorbent. Helper for the day.

I always use wire, just for extra peace of mind.

40 years of doing it is how. and a level and a laser level, not that hard

How long did it take you?
How much did you charge Sal? And do you always include thinset with your bid?
I always supply the materials except the tile.
This bathroom is at least 50 000$. Just alone waterproofing material and labor is probably around 5000$. Master I am dying to know am I close enough?
Way off.
@ Sir did I overpriced?
Why not flash your kerdi on the bench as opposed to banding?
You can do that
Whispers… Zoom, Zoom…
