M8, i love that game... But have you ever heard of Rfactor 1? Personally, i think it comes closer to ac even if it's destroyed in the graphics department.
F1CE was a great game for what it was, but calling it the Assetto Corsa of 2006 is a really big stretch. That would be the original rFactor, with F1 Challenge '99-'02 next in that list. F1CE was lacking other things that could've been added too, considering it came out after the 2006 season had finished. Things like driver changes (Montagny and Yamamoto at Super Aguri, De La Rosa at McLaren, Kubica at BMW, Doornbos at Red Bull). The physics also weren't 100% (although they were miles better than the original PS2 version).
props to F1 championship edition with Jerez, the good classic cars and how great they made the game with the official Tv graphics, especially in replay mode
And how good it still looks! An early 2007 game for the PS3, which let's not forget was a complete nightmare to develop games for. Imagine that team doing F1 games right now with current resources :(
They should make a spin off f1 game that takes place during the early to mid 70s...where f1 teams like Tyrrell, shadow, brabham, and other forgotten f1 teams ran the circuits. It could also emphasize on how dangerous the races could get by having the ai have these massive crashes like in grid legends...maybe even include driver fatalities if they want it very dark (dunno bout that).
It's such a shame that F1 2021 got rid of the classic cars because that was one of the best parts of the damn game. Good old EA. Making games worse by merely existing. This is why F1 Challenge VB will be better than anything EA puts out.
