@1 1 That is not accurate. The big pile up occured at the start of the race just after la source. There was another small crash at the same place after the second start involving Hakkinen and Herbert. Also lap 24 Schumacher leading the race ran into Coulthard, who was one lap behind, as he tried to pass him in the straight line between speaker and Pouhon double gauche. Schumacher lost the whole front right wheel but miraculously manage to keep control of his car for the rest of the lap. Hill, who took the lead at the second start, and was passed by Schumacher in bus stop lap 7, won the race. Only 8 pilots finished the race that day. if you pay attention, many tracks after 94 had chicane changes on high speed curves, that's FIA learning from her mistakes in the tragics accidents on that year.
Still though, there is a human driver in the car, why no adaptation to the track? So old monza was basically a circuit and an oval together.
In 4 ocasions yes
They have also used only the oval as well
Monza (almost) always had an oval since its contruction, in 1922. Right before WWII, the old oval was removed, to be reconstructed in mid 50s
