I did not do full carnivore at first. slowly tampered down veggies, wasn't a big carb person in the first place, occasionally having a homemade treat, I do not eat out. I'm 61, have never been on meds, but am fully active and couldn't understand why I wasn't loosing weight. Tried a huge amount of diets, not one worked. I’m 74 years old and on the diet not so much to lose weight, but to improve my bloodwork. The doctor wants me on a statin and Lipitor which I refuse to take. @@vibekes2416 well congratulations on your transplant! One of my closest friend’s daughter had a liver transplant years ago and is doing wonderfully. I would say ease into Carnivore if you’d like to try it. Start by eliminating all of the ultra processed foods and gluten from your diet and stick to meat, veggies, and low sugar fruits. Then you can slowly reduce your carbs. Your body has been through a lot so avoiding the shock of suddenly going to zero carbs would probably be a good idea. As far as minimum protein, I would say .6-.8g of protein per pound of ideal body weight is a great place to start. Try to start incorporating the fattier cuts of meat during your carb reduction process so you can get used to them. And then see how you feel! This gradual carb reduction process can take a few months, and you may find that you feel really good eating the whole real foods and don’t even need to do full Carnivore. But you will figure it out 😀😀😀

It's real simple....eat meat only and as much as you like...same for meat fats. Don't overthink it...your body doesn't and I've been blessed with a healthy body because of it...cheers
I am returning to carnivore. I found, when I was consistently on this diet, that eggs (usually scrambled or omelette), thick pork belly, and some kind of fish satisfied all needs. I ate beef more as a snack like sliced beef tendon or ribs. Anecdotal but it worked for me.
Jenny is the real deal. It's important to be fully transparent to viewers & consumers & is actually required. So I love that she is one of VERY FEW (sadly) who properly discloses both sponsors & affiliate links. Looking out for those viewers & consumers first & foremost.. gets a HUGE thumbs up!
I found cooking every meal really annoying, so I found a few local cafes that will cook meat and eggs in butter for a reasonable price and I go there for my first meal of the day. On the way out I put meat in the slow cooker and it's ready about 4pm when I get home. Now I'm able to manage eating and cooking less. 👍
I have had congenital uterine issues, leading to multiple risks beyond just PCOS. To balance my hormones, I relied on hormone injections, which kept the problems at bay. However, as soon as I stopped the injections, the issues would resurface. That’s when I discovered an alternative approach: supplementing with inositol and choline. If you Google it, you’ll find numerous studies supporting their benefits-I’m living proof of their effectiveness. The truth is, PCOS is closely linked to insulin resistance, which might even suggest a predisposition to diabetes. If inositol isn’t enough, metformin could be another viable solution.
I have successfully managed my PCOS by using inositol, choline, vitamin D, vitamin K2 (MK-4), and folate. I recommend giving these a try. For inositol, consider a mega dose of about 1000 mg per 10 kg of body weight. For example, if you weigh 70 kg, you would take 7000 mg. I am now completely free from PCOS. Remember, PCOS is closely linked to insulin resistance, so addressing that is crucial.
While following a carnivore diet, I believe that consuming organ meats rich in B vitamins, vitamin A, and vitamin K can provide effects similar to taking inositol and choline. Additionally, since the carnivore diet can also improve insulin resistance, it may indeed be effective for managing PCOS. Although I personally resolved my issues with supplements like inositol and choline, the carnivore diet seems like a meaningful approach as well. If you’re looking for quick results, I highly recommend trying inositol and choline. The key is to take a mega dose of inositol, as small amounts won’t be sufficient to improve insulin resistance. However, be cautious not to consume too much choline. I’ve been taking inositol and choline for over a year, and even though I haven’t taken them for the past two months, my uterus remains healthy with no issues. Just because I resolved my PCOS with inositol and choline doesn’t mean you need to continue taking supplements at the same level for life, so don’t worry-it’s definitely worth trying. Also, sleep is incredibly important for managing PCOS. Make sure not to stay up late and always get your rest at night.
That's the hard part of going through all these ways of making sure you stay on track, because I did. Constant getting on the scale almost becoming obsessed with the scale watching and angry of the first inconvenience right after eating a meal and gaining a little weight. It's easy to lose sight of yourself and your ambitions that way. All of it was what I struggled with over the years of my fitness journey, but I had since stopped doing daily/weekly/monthly checks and just focused on the journey itself. Now I still have the last 20lbs to lose to get to my goal 😎 don't beat yourself up guys and don't worry..IT WILL HAPPEN
Thanx so much for this video! I'm so late and kinda felt so lost as to how much to eat. I'm satisfied most days with 1.5lbs of ground beef but wasn't sure. Talk to some people and they were saying 7lbs was my goal. CRAZY! I'm +500lbs. Maybe when I'm moving more, when I'm able to get around but 7lbs is crazy. 2lbs, i can push and wait until I'm actually hungry again to do it again. And the snacking advise sounds good. Egg, piece of meat. Got it. I lean towards pork rinds but i finish the family bag. I can do an egg or 2 with hot sauce and not want to binge. Thanx again!
I’d like to say thank you with regards to adding in the small bit about people that have has gastric by-pass or sleeve. That we need to eat small meals several times a day and that 1 or 2 meals won’t work for us. I happened on your video tonight and I’m glad I did. Really giving me encouragement to try this after all of my many fails to be a healthy person. Thank you! Subscribed! 😊😊
my meal plan is go to every day at least one meal is bacon with butter and vinegar sometimes with hamburger mixed in, and then 2nd meal can be the same or sometimes i add variety on the 2nd meal
I wasn't losing weight on carnivore either. I'm blaming my hormones and my metabolism and full-on insulin resistance that makes my body hold on to every ounce of ugly disgusting blubber that it can. I have begun an extended water fast to literally force my body to start using my extensive fat stores for survival, and while at present, I am eating eggs every handful of days (I haven't been truly achingly hungry, but there is a definite food addiction that needs to be broken), I'm weaning myself off of that. Once the weight comes off and my blood work is all with a normal parameters, I intend to eat strict carnivore. But right now, hi. It's me. I'm the problem. It's me.
Hello! If you are not eating enough, your body will hold onto the fat stores. YOu have to nourish your body in order for it to begin releasing the fat. I would recommend going high fat carnivore, eating 2-3 meals per day to make sure you are getting enough food, and give it a month or two for your body to get used to this way of eating. Then, you can play around with fasting, calories, and other things. But for now, I recommend eating. The weight loss will come.
Also, be careful about sauces and breading. Sauces can have more carbs than people realize. If ordering from a restaurant, make sure they are not coating anything in cornstarch, flour etc.

I've been fighting to get my cholesterol down. I have succeeded. I think something else was going on with my elimination of fat. I could give a testimony to everything that you said but that would be Paige's long LOL. 💜
I live near Mc Donald’s Early morning, I can order scrambled eggs and butter cubes and sausage. With coffee. Lunch, I can order 1/4 lb beef burger patties for $1.49 each. Ice Tea no sugar.
Hey Jenny, It was great meeting you and your husband at Hack Your Health Austin! We talked about those of us who had Bariatric surgery and how to carnivore with small stomachs. Thank you for touching on this subject in this video!Hopefully we will continue to get more info in the future. It helped me to realize how much more I need to eat. I think I’m under eating. I’m not able to eat 4-5 times a day but trying lol. I’ll have to start tracking as you mentioned and try to hit my protein/fat goal.
Another channel said she has at least two proteins with her meals, bacon and hamburger patties with eggs, or steak and shrimp, chicken and pork, etc. it feels like she has a variety. I think it’s a good idea.
I feel like a carnivore diet is stupid simple. Not many ingredients, not having to chop vegetables, just eat the fish straight from the can, less time consuming
I agree that carnivore is really simple, but sometimes that simplicity can be confusing to people coming from a standard american diet. It just takes a bit of practice and most people see just how easy it is.
I found a certain brand & variety of sardines that I don't mind, so I can go with that there. I think ground beef is the best value choice, so that's what I'd go with. (and eggs, I don't seem to have a problem with eggs) But one of the biggest concerns people have is lack of variety. So offering meal plans really helps with that.
I'm really interested in carnivore, but I love love LOVE cooking and baking. Even with standard American diet I don't usually have the same recipe twice. I feel like there's only so many ways to prepare a slab of meat, and it's really daunting.
Living in Denmark as I do it’s very expensive to go carnivore and not to mention The fact that The selecion of Meat over The last Year has decreased dramatically - yes The green vandetta movement is wining at The moment 😅 they even add vegetables to minced meat 🤯
Denmark has been having some crazy stuff happening with the meat production. The vegan agenda has really taken hold. Is there any way you as a citizen can fight against that? Can you let your legislation know that you want access to inexpensive meat? Or is there another way the citizens of Denmark can protest?
@@JennyMitich Well in Denmark people don’t protest if The Weather is bad and does it only if it something that is political correct 🤯 it’s kind of scary I Think it’s Call lemmings - but you are right someone has to break The rule 😁
@@lars1480 that’s the only way, if enough people say “screw this, we don’t want this” you can make it stop. But there are similar things happening around the world.
I have been doing the carnivore diet for the last approximately four months. It took the first couple of months to work out not worrying about calories and finding enough meat, dairy, and eggs to get to my ideal weight in grams (120). I have had no weight loss and in fact have gained 10 pounds. I ended up with osteoporosis because I worked very hard to lose weight through exercise and diet change. I had not realized the problem I had with protein as I thought I was eating healthy (low carbs, 75% vegetarian, etc.). But I lost weight for a reason and now I am gaining weight with no end in sight. I recently discovered that all that protein depletes my magnesium and my feet and legs cramp, my joints ache so much more than they did before, I now have heartburn and sometimes nausea, which makes me not want to eat, but I force myself to anyway. And all of this is affecting my sleep. Not to mention the constipation, although I drink a lot of water and a small amount of prune juice every day. I am extremely frustrated. I may be adding protein, but I have not felt any of the positive side affects that I hear others talk about, I feel less good than I did on my other diet, and of course, I am gaining back all the weight I worked so hard to lose. Maybe my bones are getting stronger, but this doesn't feel good and it is hard to keep pushing myself when I don't see any substantive results in my overall health. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong, or is the weight loss thing and the feeling better thing only for some people and not for me?
Hello! Sounds to me like you have been focusing too much on the protein and not enough on the fat. Carnivore is a high fat, moderate protein way of eating. I would need to dive into more detail to help you dial it in, you can schedule a coaching call if you like, link is in every video description.
Like it was mentioned above me, it might be oxalate damping. Look up for videos about that, see if that's what you feel. Saying that, maybe check about the diet by blood types. Seeing that nowadays, because the human body got so messed up, especially in these last decades (because of a lot of reasons, not just nutrition), and there are conditions like AGS (allergy to sugar found in the tissue, so they can't eat red meat), I won't be surprised if the optimal way of eating, doesn't 100% fits everyone.
@@pn4640 I'm splitting it over 3 meals right now. I'm 250 lbs and do kettlebell workouts every other day. I'm overweight because I had been drinking alcohol and eating junk in addition to eating meat.
How does one eat so much? Coffee with cream in the morning, three eggs with bacon or avocado at 11 and a steak with a couple of veg or salad, and maybe some yoghurt with cinnamon to sweeten, does it for me. Yes vegetables once a day is not carnavore, but it is what my degesctive tract needs.
That would be considered keto, which is awesome too! Every person is going to eat a different amount of food. As long as you are feeling good and it works for you, keep it up!
You mentioned gastric bypass. For anyone watching/reading who may have also had that & thinks this isn't possible for them? I had RNY gastric bypass 21 yrs ago. Since that surgery, I absolutely cannot tolerate steak of any kind. Idk if it's the texture or how it digests, but I can't chew it enough to avoid getting what's known as dumping syndrome. That said, I've been doing Carnivore/BBBE for nearly 10 months now... not one steak. It IS possible. :) NEVER felt better & in every way!
@@JennyMitich no I have not yet. The doctors (not holistic) weren’t too concerned about my T4, T3, and other results. She pretty much said it’s dying but not dead yet. But I had this issue at 18 too and went into remission. So I’m trying this to see if I can do it again. The holistic doctors aren’t covered by my insurance so until I can find the money to pay out of pocket I’m stuck with the doctor I have right now.

I’ve been carnivore for a year. I can not eat that much fat or meat at one time so I eat 3 x’s a day. I’m I really have to watch the fat in the evening and underweight no muscle gain yet. Now being dxd for autoimmune disease. Not giving up.
food tracking is fine and useful grams/pounds, personally i use it to help me know what and how much to buy at the store. tracking calories is useless.
very helpful information. thank you. I've been toying with carnivore for a few weeks now but haven't been too committed (~70%). I'm also working on balancing my hormones so my body's going through a lot right now which is discouraging as I haven't seen any changes. Today's my Day#1 again... hopefully I can stick to it (without any cheat treats) for at least the next 30 days. All I want to see is SOME change, however small, to keep me out of my head feeling like I'm wasting my time and failing. 🤞
Hello and welcome! Give it at least 30 days of strict carnivore. The first month is the hardest with keto flu, but once you are through that it gets better :)
I have a heart defective, and soon I want to start this diet. Once I’m able to I was thinking about buying a half a cow from a grass fed farm and a bit of chicken breast. I love salmon, milk sensitive. I’m picky when it comes to fat, sensitive palate
I am only a week in but my belly has gone much flatter already.I used to have quite a shelf in front! I am wondering if I'm out to eat, what will happen if I eat a regular meal like beef, potato, salad and veggie? Would that add several pounds instantly? I'm going out in 3 weeks to lunch with friends.
I have alot of health issues. I've got a Spinal cord Stimulator fitted in my body, I've had a TKR ( Total knee replacement) & 3 spinal operations one with fusion. I'm on 28 tablets a day some are b4 food some are after food. I've always been an erratic eater not eating when I should so just looking for some help. It's the chocolate and sweets that are my most craving at night mainly because of my previous job. Thank you.
I had good success my first round of carnivore but I have issues with my gallbladder and after a while I started having some pretty severe stomach issues, and I believe due to my gallbladder issues I can't digest fats very well. At my work I'm unable to heat my food so after a while I was getting irritated with the lack of variety of foods hard boiled eggs and water, and jerky when I could afford it. I can't stand unheated meats. I tried bringing sirloin burger in a wide mouth thermos but by the time I could have lunch it would already be cold.
Hiya Jenny just started and wanted to know about fluids & alcohol intake for the diet? Also some of these pictures have tomatoes 🍅 (fresh) and the odd green vegetables??
Hello! I think you are referring to the Broll in the video? Just ignore those. No alcohol allowed on Carnivore, and for fluids I think water, sparkling water, black coffee or tea, and perhaps some sugar free beverages are ok :)
@JennyMitich so it's like the intermittent fasting diet then? I did this awhile ago and lost 2 stone also same with the Fast 800. I will try my best but do have depression with my health issues and stress with sleepless nights. ❣️
Just subbed, Thanks so much, I'm gonna give this a try. Question can I take a vitamin supplement like a men's one a day when on this carnivore diet? Thank you

I've managed to stay carnivore in the past for a month or so and I felt so much better. I have alot of inflammation and digestive issues. Just trying to figure out how to bypass the lack of appetite and meat aversion.
Agreed! Gotta keep fed during pregnancy. That's a hard one, I had the meat aversion but I wasnt Carnivore at the time. If I have another pregnancy, that would be something I may need to tackle
Hello! I dont think there is anything wrong with seasonally consuming some low sugar fruits like berries. Berries are not what got people into metabolic dysfunction
Hello! Sure, but make sure it doesnt have a bunch of fillers, sugar, vegetable seed oils, etc. I would prefer you get your protein from meats, but if you need a protein powder to get enough protein, go for it :)
I suffer from hot flushes (menopause).ive been recommended to fast 18hrs, but are starving before 18hrs is over. I ate butter but still hungry. Drink water too. What would you recommend ?
Jenny, I have tried carnivore twice now. I experienced weight loss right away and reduced/no cravings (which is huge for me!). The problem that I run into is EXTREME depression about a week and a half in. After watching your video today I am wondering if it is due to the keto “flu”….or if there is something else I should consider? I don’t have a gall bladder, so would appreciate any advice you have there. I am ready to try again and will definitely implement the LMNT suggestion…what else do I need to consider? Thank you for your easy to understand and informative videos! ❤
Hello! Oh yea, that is almost certainly keto flu. Your body can do strange things when it is transitioning over. Keto flu is basically carb or sugar withdrawal and has symptoms similar to drug withdrawals. Depression and anxiety can occur. It does improve though, but if you find it to be intolerable, try ramping your carbs down slowly. Electrolytes help a lot. As far as gallbladder, just play around with the amount of fat you are consuming and see how much you can handle. Digestive enzymes can be helpful for some people. And perhaps more, smaller meals to start? See if any of those do the trick.
I eat deli meat, I just try to get the highest quality possible, read the ingredients labels. I dont eat in in my daily life, but if I am travelling by car or plane and its my only meat option, I will eat it.
Hello! Sure, I use garlic powder and salt. I dont think seasonings are a big deal, just read the ingredients labels and buy the highest quality you can find.
Carnivore sounds wonderful but i sm worried it might lead to other problems i am prediabetic now and have been for about year and half i am on metformin and ozempic and blood pressure med also i. Am just worried about it causing other issues with my body
I just started about 3-4 days ago. I’m not having a problem giving up the carbs…yet. My problem is the water. I hate not having any flavor packets. I’ve tried the sparkling waters and I just don’t like them. So I don’t know if I’m undermining myself here by still using the drink mixes. Any advice?
Read the ingredients labels and avoid anything with dextrose, vegetable seed oils, or colors. In the beginning, its not that big of a deal to drink that stuff if it is helping you stay on Carnivore. You can focus on cutting it down the line.
@@JennyMitich thank you so much! I will do that. I just gave up zero sodas that had caffeine too…so I think it was just too much. I appreciate you…thanks again!

Great points!
I just started carnivore three days ago. I think this diet not only keeps the doctor away but the dentist too.
Hello and for sure! My oral health has improved drastically since going Carnivore.
Definitely! And the psychiatrist too!
Day 72 Currently 6'3 sitting at 298 now at 255 so far 43lbs. Also workout 3x a week. So far so good. Will start to introduce greens and reds
Great work!
I see it as liberating because it's simple and easier than all the meal prep with other diets..I'm excited to do this! ❤
Totally have gleaned much from your videos. You are a straight shooter and call it what it is. Love your determination and desire to share.
Thank you so much!
Wow! Jenny. I’ve been eating carnivore for a while but this video taught me a lot!

my meal plan is go to every day at least one meal is bacon with butter and vinegar sometimes with hamburger mixed in, and then 2nd meal can be the same or sometimes i add variety on the 2nd meal
You also could drink milk. I read about a man who fasted for a year and only drank milk. He was monitored by doctors, though.
@@tracyjamieson362 You have good intentions, but that is not carnivore and dairy will cause problems with insulin resistance.
@@kimberlyann1960Not everyone, some people do fine with dairy.
Also, be careful about sauces and breading. Sauces can have more carbs than people realize. If ordering from a restaurant, make sure they are not coating anything in cornstarch, flour etc.

I could give a testimony to everything that you said but that would be Paige's long LOL. 💜

Hello and welcome!
Hey Jenny,
It was great meeting you and your husband at Hack Your Health Austin!
Hey there! It was great meeting you too! I am putting together a video on this topic :)
@@JennyMitich Yayyy! I can’t wait to watch!!
Another channel said she has at least two proteins with her meals, bacon and hamburger patties with eggs, or steak and shrimp, chicken and pork, etc. it feels like she has a variety. I think it’s a good idea.
Nice! Just do what works best for you :)
@@JennyMitich Yes, I appreciate all your great tips as well. Thank you .
I feel like a carnivore diet is stupid simple. Not many ingredients, not having to chop vegetables, just eat the fish straight from the can, less time consuming
But apparently so many need a 'meal plan'. Do we have to tell them to cook the meat before eating it too?
I agree that carnivore is really simple, but sometimes that simplicity can be confusing to people coming from a standard american diet. It just takes a bit of practice and most people see just how easy it is.
@@danielcarrillo1057 I agree…it is for lazy people. I tried it and I was bloated for the whole week..I couldn’t stand eating any more
I found a certain brand & variety of sardines that I don't mind, so I can go with that there. I think ground beef is the best value choice, so that's what I'd go with. (and eggs, I don't seem to have a problem with eggs)
But one of the biggest concerns people have is lack of variety. So offering meal plans really helps with that.
And what you feel means what to us. Lol
Excellent video! You hit all the possibilities of what can come up in the beginning and offered great advice to overcome any start up problems.
Thank you so much :)
I'm so stuck. So glad for this video....
Im glad it was helpful!
I'm really interested in carnivore, but I love love LOVE cooking and baking. Even with standard American diet I don't usually have the same recipe twice. I feel like there's only so many ways to prepare a slab of meat, and it's really daunting.
Hello! There are tons of carnivore recipes out there, you can have a lot of variety on this diet if you are willing to do the work :)
Cook and Bake for someone else….you dont have to eat what you cook 😂
Oxalate dumping perhaps!
Nice timing, Im about to start carnivore myself.
You got this!
Thanks so much for all this wonderful information. I can't wait to get started!

I’m trying the carnivore diet to try to reverse my hypothyroidism. We’ll see if I see some improvement in a few weeks I’m only on day 1.
