This is very helpful. I’m excited to keep seeing and definitely excited for the $250/month budget for a family of 4. Even if it’s $300-$350 I still think that’s awesome. Let’s see what the realistic cheapest you can go is
Once in a blue🌚 moon… Walmart 🇨🇦Will have a chicken sale IN SOME CITIES, NOT ALL…For $1.97/lb. Prices at Walmart are the highest in Canada…not a great place to shop.
Another helpful video Jenny! I also spend way less eating this way even without trying - not buying so many veggies that just get thrown out bc I couldn’t eat them in time, no overpriced junk food that I needed to eat a ton of to feel full on or that I used to keep coming back for more of bc of sugar cravings.
❤This was awesome! I have been working on this in the last month. We are a ketovore family of 7! So trying to keep things cheaper and the cost down. Bone on, skin on chicken thighs are definitely the cheapest at 1.39 a pound and drum sticks go on sale for 99 cents a pound. Pork is usually under 2 a pound as well. I'm working on finding ground beef for a good price and will likely do half a cow this year. Can't wait for the next one!
My husband and I have been carnivore over five months. It's definitely cheaper than stupid diets I've been on in the past. Even just eating omnivore is more expensive. The only thing about your grocery list is I'm not fond of chicken anymore and the only part of the pig I like is bacon. We eat mostly ribeye and hamburger and of course eggs. But our grocery bill is still easy to handle. I appreciate you listing this out for families and newbie carnivore showing how easy it can be done
LOVE THIS!!!! ❤ Thank you! 🙏 I buy the groceries for my household on a modest budget and my 3 kids are teenagers now and 2 boys have taken up weightlifting like my monstrous husband. We also make fresh meals for our 2 pitbulls 🥲 So, since my husband and I decided to try carnivore this year, i’m over here sweating about the budget 😂. This is super helpful thank you ❤
That was very impressive. I watch a lot of these videos and this might be the best yet. This video was packed with info and ideas. Very well done Jenny, thank you.
Something to consider if you primarily want beef and don't eat pork, brisket is usually between $2.50 and $3.25 per pound. Also cheek meat is close to $3 per pound. A chuck roll is about $4.20 to $5 per pound. Lots of good options for the carnivore diet! There's also options like Good Chop where you can build your own box for a little over $200. I'm definitely looking into that myself.
Jenny-I think you add so much quality information onnall things Carnivore! So good that I have created your own separate “save” category for your TH-cam vids. Thanks I am an RN but a newbie so I am battling the old dogma of “science” that my MDs and nutritionist friends still believe-- it’s hard to challenge.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is exactly what I needed, because my budget is actually exactly limited to 100€/month/person at the moment. This was extremely helpful! One thing I wanted to point out is that it was very difficult for me personally to watch the video with the quick edits and all those stylistic elements popping up and disappearing. It was hard to process what you were saying, while the images just flashed from one thing to the next. This might just be me and maybe because I'm not a native speaker, so I can't process stuff so easily, but just wanted to point out my experience in case it helps you :) Still, the information you gave was invaluable!
Cheese, get block, it's cheaper and doesn't have potato starch like shredder. Salt, redmonds... grainy but no microplastics. The pork shoulder deal was 👏 AMAZING 👏 I've got to introduce myself to the guys in the meat department.
I always shred my own and got a huge block of gouda cheese-at least 5lbs for 11 bucks! I took some hamburger and mixed salt, pepper, paprika and basil in it-shredded some gouda put that in the middle and shaped into a loaf-wrapped it in bacon-it turned out to be delicious!

So, I love your concept and it definitely looks like it works! I go to Sam's and get a whole chuck roll for about $120 which I am able to cut into 17 steaks (chuck eye, Denver, and sierra) and 3 decent size roasts. I usually get farm fresh eggs while I'm there. Might look into getting them from Aldi which has the best price on grass fed butter $3.09 per 8oz.
We are in our 70's. Before we went carnivore we spent on average $250 to $300 a week for groceries. We now spend half of that and we are eating much better. Eggs, bacon, beef, butter, hamburger, smoked salmon, salt, pork, and cream - no cheese. We usually go shopping twice a week. The only spurge item is bacon because my wife likes to cook extra for snacks. Three strips of bacon will almost always satiates hunger between meals for us.
My issue is not having a big freezer 🤪 to buy bulk for 1 month! This is a great video to show how it can be done. I am learning to buy the large cuts on sale. Amazing savings. Also get to know your butchers. They are absolute treasures for many reasons. How to cook something, real shelf life, sales coming so you can plan, special cutting of bulk meats, etc. They save me $$. I spent $400 a month on food. No junk. Meat, vegetables, berries, beans...no seafood. Looking forward to this now! Thanks for your hard work❤!
Thanks for doing this. I do carnivore but I live alone so people do not believe me if I said it can be done (since we buy only meat and nothing else). So I am excited to see that meal budget for 4 people in a family. ❤❤❤
My family of 2.25 are eating mostly carnivore and are on a very low budget. Would love to see more of what your twins are eating! My 9 month old is loving food and feeding him is so much fun. Thanks for this video!
Hello! You can see some of their meals over on my Insta (MamaMitich), I post a lot over there. I am also putting together a video about what the boys eat :)
Fantastic ideas. Been Carnivore going on 6 years now. I am always scouting out deals in my area. RN ground beef 5lbs roll is $9.85 ($1.97/lb). Local Mexican market has Chicken Breasts for $1.79/lbs. I brine the chicken breasts with liquid Smoke and then air fry to make lunch meat for my family.
Watch the heavy cream for extra additives. Land o lakes, for example: skim milk, 1% or less of mono and di-glycerides, polysorbate 80, carrageenan. 1% or less may not be a big deal, but might depend on how much/how often you use it. Half & half usually has no extras in it, though it does have a few carbs. I was surprised when I read the ingredients list on heavy whipping cream. I always thought cream was simply cream. 😳
I always shop deals. I eat a lot of steak because I haunt the kroger that’s near my house. 😂 I have two freezers and buy a lot of red meat when it’s sell-by marked down about once a week. Then I have stock to get me by between catching the sales. 👍
Unfortunately, Walmart eggs have basically doubled on price. You can get it for half of the new price at their club membership store, sams club. In my area, would have to budget 200 dollars a month to get the amount of food in this video. Rarely any mark down options in my area. But watching this video has encouraged me to look for sales instead of paying full price.
Hello! Yea, eggs are super expensive everywhere right now. But prices will improve eventually. And great about looking for sales! They are out there, its just figuring out who has the best deals in your area :)
chicken has a purpose-cut breast into cubes and bake, you want it to dry out a little-blend in food processor with eggs, get right consistency for pizza crust, lay parchment paper on pizza pan, press mixture thin into pan, air fry for 10 minutes each side, top with alfredo sauce, shredded beef or ground beef and cheese, season as desired, I always put salt garlic and my organic Italian seasoning in the crust and sprinkle a little of the Italian seasoning on top the cheese to make it look pretty
Some great tips there..we have a vacuum sealer and we buy meat in bulk when on sale and portion/freeze..it last a long time..of course you have to pay for the bags but i find it's worth it they are washable and reusable...
You said assuming you already have salt and butter. BTW, Walmart carries Plochmans himalayan pink salt. 1.2kg unrefined, no other ingredients for about $5.00 CAD.
My local heb store had pork loins for $5 or so. Each package had two pork loins in it. I tossed them on the smoker and one provided two large servings so the second one went in the freezer for low effort dinner another night. Cost $2.50 for two meals or $1.25 per serving. I buy boneless chicken breasts that average around $3+ per breast which also provides two large servings. I'm cooking for my wife and I so I build meals around two servings. The most expensive meat I buy is salmon that I buy in a large filet and divide up. Ends up costing me around $7 for two servings but my wife really enjoys it. And yes I can make canned salmon patties for half that but there's a taste difference. Half one of those sliced liver packages provides two serving so fairly cheap at four servings per package. I used to get pork chops for about a dollar each but prices have climbed and it's somewhat higher now but still pretty cheap. I'm always on the lookout for cheap beef and the other day I ran across a thin london broil. I think it was around $5 and it grilled up medium rare as a very tender steak with over two servings. I buy lean roasts when I can find them on sale and make jerky out of them. Way cheaper for snacks than store bought jerky and no sugars added. I have an electric smoker out on the deck and always enjoyed briskets but lately they are out of my budget but I found that you can take a thick chuck steak and smoke it and it slices and tastes like a smoked brisket for a fraction of the cost and it provides you with some of the needed fats. Chappel hill sausage is zero carb and one link will provide four servings making it just over a dollar per serving. I can't find them anymore but they used to sell the six inch links and I'd smoke a package of them and freeze so when I wanted a snack I could pop one in the microwave for 60 seconds and instant hot link. I would suggest always reading the label on the shredded cheese to see the amount of carbs and if you don't want the added anti clumping agents you might consider shredding block cheese. Pizza is reasonably cheap. I mix shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese at 1&1/2 cup to 3/4 cup and one or two eggs along with a bit of red pepper flakes. Spread as thin as possible and then bake until the top is crisp. Then flip and bake the other side. Remove from the oven and build your all meat pizza and then back in the over until done. About three or four adult servings.
Thank you Jenny for the excellently crafted video. On top of the quality content, I very much appreciated your eloquent, and classy yet warm speech. You have a new sub here, God bless
Wow, you are lucky to find someone to tell you when their sell by dates are. At Winco in Idaho, they said they don't have a particular day for their sales and I needed to just check every single day. I don't think they want people to know when the sales are because then the rest of the week will be lean on customers. I check twice a week and sometimes I'll find one and sometimes not.
I'm in southwest lower Michigan. Eggs at our walmart went to $13.43 last week for 60 count. Not finding any good meat sales here. Hamburger running 4.99 and up. Going to look again today. I need to restock something. Thanks for sharing!
I'm in fla and our eggs are just as high.... it's crazy ridiculous. And when I try to find out why they're blaming the bird flu that happened two years ago I called BS on that one
Yea, prices are wildly different from place to place. I am in an expensive area in the Chicago burbs and sometimes prices are high and other times low. I grocery shop a few days a week to try to scoop up the sales :)
Well more egg fams have recently burnt down...again. Just like cattle farms. They want you to eat bugs. Read labels, because you can find it. Crickets right on the ingredient list.
I think affordable meat prices in 🇺🇸Must be very, very regional. Last week a doctor on a Carnivore TH-cam video said he could buy chuckroasts for 99cents/lb. He was in Tennessee, I think. Gee, Chuck 🥩never ever goes on sale in Canada 🇨🇦And sells for $10.99-13.99/lb🥩 Gladys 🇨🇦Toronto🇨🇦Canada🇨🇦
Winn Dixie put out a weekend special a few weeks ago for ribeyes $4.99/lb I bought 25 or 30 lbs. It can be done cheaper than any other "diet" if you look for the sales and be a little creative. I always try to set some money aside in case I run across a deal to stock the freezer.
This was an AWESOME video! Exactly what I, and many others, have been needing to see. I *know* carnivore can be done affordably, but I was still struggling to make the budget work. So seeing this laid out put my mind at ease and encouraged me. Sometimes seeing actually IS believing! Haha! I have a family of six with some preteens in there to budget for; we're a mix of Keto & carnivore. It's taking a lot of work to wean the kids over to kid friendly keto & carnivore snacks. They're so sick of cheese sticks and hard boiled eggs....But I will find more stuff to make, no worries! Thanks again for a great video, I'm going to go find that next one you mentioned and hit the subscribe button now!
First never buy shredded cheese, just like table salt has non caking agents, shredded cheese has melting n non caking agents added to them and they’re more expensive shred it yourself
Check your local smaller meat market. Here, SE Mi, there is one that carries irregularly cut bacon, nineteen ninety five for ten lbs. I grind it half and half with whatever pork is cheap for a very good breakfast sausage. For deli and other types of preserved meat, find a salvage type grocery store. There is a small local chain that often has these types of meat for five for five or two for three.
I started carnivore 90 days ago and went to Walmart and bought the 60 count of eggs for $6.95 in November. Today is February 18 th and the same box of eggs is now $13.48 I’ll but local from now on
I'm going back to the diet. I shop at BJs and found an online deal of 1.99 a pound on boneless/skinless chicken breasts. (I supplement with butter or some other fats for the skin.) Now they aren't as good on eggs and some other things as Walmart is, but I get them there and save on fuel. Thanks for showing this and explaining how to do it. I'll be doing more shopping as you suggest now. Take Care and Stay Safe.

Always cleck your shredded cheese for added ingredients. Most have an anti-clumping agent. If you're able, it's much better to shred your own cheese from the block.
Sadly, I can't do eggs, but I will say this is very informative, thanks. On a side note, in my area, Walmart sells 10lb bags of chicken quarters for $8.99.

This is very helpful. I’m excited to keep seeing and definitely excited for the $250/month budget for a family of 4. Even if it’s $300-$350 I still think that’s awesome. Let’s see what the realistic cheapest you can go is
Hello! Yes, that one was fun. It ended up being $300 and it will be out on Sunday :)
Great list. One thing you may have missed is that Walmart and sometimes Aldi has the 10lb bags of chicken quarters for 59 cents a pound.
Great tip!
Same! We have basically zero food waste now :)
I agree with you, there's no waste now.
Nicely done! Last months grocery bill was outrageous! I’ll have to try some of your ideas!
Hello! it takes a bit of practice but you can totally get that bill down :)
That is awesome! Great idea with the half a cow, with a family your size thats the best option :)
Great job. You always break it down for us so we can see. Excellent example. Thanks.
Hello and thank you!
Hello and thank you so much!
This is super helpful thank you ❤
Youre very welcome :)
That was very impressive. I watch a lot of these videos and this might be the best yet. This video was packed with info and ideas. Very well done Jenny, thank you.
Hello and thank you so much!
I live in east Tennessee and we have a store named Sav a lot. They have super cheap meat. T bone steak for 3.99 a pound sometimes
Nice! Thats a great price :)
Great video, and thanks for including the cooking tips at the end.
Hello and thank you so much!
Loved this video! Thanks so much for taking on the challenge and showing others it is possible ❤
Thank you!
There is a little gear button in the upper right side of the video that you can change the speed of the video...helps a lot 👍
Youre very welcome :)
Thank you for your research and hard work. Tomorrow is day 4 of my diet. It's been delicious so far. Have a great week.
Thank you so much!
@@preplikeagypsy10 sounds heavenly, I've got to try that and add it to my rotation, thanks gypsy.
@@preplikeagypsy10 WHERE do you buy 5lb of cheese for $11???
@@estherruth4692 down home discount-got 4 packs of pork chops @ 1.25 a pack too they were around 2 lbs each-smoked pork chops fully cooked warm them up and you got food for the day! I just found out about them when I was @ albertsons last time I went shopping-they had bacon@ like 2 bucks a pack but I had already bought 6 lbs- I'm shopping next week going there first- discount stores are a great way to save money but you gotta buy what they have when they have it and stock up-buying in bulk at meat markets too but I don't have any of those close to me-Albertsons is an hour away
I appreciate this!🙏🏻
Thank you so much!
This is the BEST carnivore diet podcast out there! "Just the facts, ma'am!" ❤
Thank you so much :)
Same! We are saving so much money on carnivore :)
Hello and thank you so much!

Thank you :)
Thanks for doing this. I do carnivore but I live alone so people do not believe me if I said it can be done (since we buy only meat and nothing else). So I am excited to see that meal budget for 4 people in a family. ❤❤❤
Hello and thank you so much!
Good stuff!
True! Good point :)
As a guy living on disability, this really helps. Thanks!
Hello! I'm glad it was helpful :)
This was super helpful! I’ve been on carnivore for 9 weeks and have been shopping with local butcher, but this helped me a bunch! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I always shop deals. I eat a lot of steak because I haunt the kroger that’s near my house. 😂
I have two freezers and buy a lot of red meat when it’s sell-by marked down about once a week. Then I have stock to get me by between catching the sales. 👍
Same! I almost only buy the 50% off steaks now :)
Looks Amazing. Love these recipes 😋
Thank you so much!
This was helpful, thank you. I do not eat pork but I can see a mich clearer path to navigating this journey
Glad it was helpful!
Very informative and helpful.
Hello and thank you so much!
This is so helpful! I just discovered your channel after deciding to try carnivore and this is what I need..practical tips to get started.
Awesome! I'm glad it was helpful :)
Oh man, I wish I liked chicken & pork, but all I want now is Beef, Applewood Bacon, Lamb, and Eggs. Chicken just leaves me hungry.
Agreed! I only eat chicken once a month
chicken has a purpose-cut breast into cubes and bake, you want it to dry out a little-blend in food processor with eggs, get right consistency for pizza crust, lay parchment paper on pizza pan, press mixture thin into pan, air fry for 10 minutes each side, top with alfredo sauce, shredded beef or ground beef and cheese, season as desired, I always put salt garlic and my organic Italian seasoning in the crust and sprinkle a little of the Italian seasoning on top the cheese to make it look pretty
Some great tips there..we have a vacuum sealer and we buy meat in bulk when on sale and portion/freeze..it last a long time..of course you have to pay for the bags but i find it's worth it they are washable and reusable...
We do the same!
At Walmart I get the 10 lb bags of chicken leg quarters for 77 cents per lb and large rolls of ground chuck in 5 or 10 lb versions.
Nice!
Thank you Jenny for the excellently crafted video. On top of the quality content, I very much appreciated your eloquent, and classy yet warm speech. You have a new sub here, God bless
Thank you so much and welcome!
Read the ingredients on shredded cheese packages. There are often anti caking additives that are carb based.
Yep! We were going for quantity, not quality for this video
@@JennyMitich A lot of times, blocks of cheese are actually cheaper and don't have added ingredients.
Thanks for taking the time to put this together and sharing it! 😊
Youre very welcome! I was curious to see if it could be done :)
Just bought 25lbs of ground beef for just over $100... Could spend that in a single day eating out.

I like to remove the skin off chicken thighs, bake it up with a sprinkle of salt when done. I get a snack and some schmaltz out of the deal!
Yum, sound tasty!!
Great video! I gotta try that meat, egg, and cheese bake! And that pork roast in the crock pot! Go on girl! You bad!

$25/person/week = crazy pants. Way to gooo🎉
Thank you!
I love what you're showing here. Just wish we had these prices in New Zealand. Great Job.
Thank you!
Yep I've been doing carnivore 5 years on basically $25/week.
Heck yea! Great work :)
Hello! It is printed on the label where I'm at :)
Gee, Chuck 🥩never ever goes on sale in Canada 🇨🇦And sells for $10.99-13.99/lb🥩
Gladys 🇨🇦Toronto🇨🇦Canada🇨🇦
I did see a sale here in Michigan last week for 5.99 a pound. But I was broke.
Aldi has fantastic prices. We shop there and Walmart almost exclusively.
I love Aldi!
Thank you, Thank you, Thaaank You! I've been spending way to much money on meat lately
You're so welcome!
Nice! I completely agree :)
I always look for the yellow mark downs on meat when I go to Walmart. Generally ya have to go first thing in the morning to get much though.
True!
Hello and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have another video for a family of 4 with a budget of $300, be sure to check that one out too :)
First never buy shredded cheese, just like table salt has non caking agents, shredded cheese has melting n non caking agents added to them and they’re more expensive shred it yourself
Hello! Yes, I agree. I shred my own, but for this video we were just going for volume of food as opposed to quality :)
Oh nice! That's a great tip :)
I started carnivore 90 days ago and went to Walmart and bought the 60 count of eggs for $6.95 in November. Today is February 18 th and the same box of eggs is now $13.48 I’ll but local from now on
Jumped from 7 to 22$ at my Walmart...Oregon coast.
@@BackyardRebel it’s getting ridiculous
I'm going back to the diet. I shop at BJs and found an online deal of 1.99 a pound on boneless/skinless chicken breasts. (I supplement with butter or some other fats for the skin.) Now they aren't as good on eggs and some other things as Walmart is, but I get them there and save on fuel.
Thanks for showing this and explaining how to do it. I'll be doing more shopping as you suggest now. Take Care and Stay Safe.
Hello and you're very welcome!
Hey, big thanks! 😊
No problem 😊
You are sooo my wife and I!!! Make the budget work. Deals after Deals!
Heck yea! Anything is possible if you search enough LOL
We got a 15 lbs pork shoulder at Costco in Algonquin for $28. Ground it up with salt pepper and sage. Most lean breakfast sausage. Cook pattys in butter.
Nice!
This is an amazing video. In Canada, it will be close to double the cost...
More than double, easily‼

We live in Australia 🇦🇺 Food is very expensive 😫 😢it's fuked we pay $7 for 12 eggs but thank you for your hard work I wish I lived there when it comes to food shopping 🛍 xx
Hello! Yes, the pastured eggs I buy are between $5-8 a dozen so I feel you on that!
Same in 🇨🇦Canada…prices for meats are high.
I shop the grocery specials ONLY, vacuum pack my meats and freeze them…keeping my freezer full. Great meat sales only occur on holidays…Xmas, New Year’s,Valentine’s, Easter, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving mostly. So, I eat from my freezer to save money, and make room to fill freezer at the next huge sale!

Always cleck your shredded cheese for added ingredients. Most have an anti-clumping agent. If you're able, it's much better to shred your own cheese from the block.
Yep! Good tip :)
This is great! Thank you!!!
Thank you :)
Sadly, I can't do eggs, but I will say this is very informative, thanks. On a side note, in my area, Walmart sells 10lb bags of chicken quarters for $8.99.
FYI: Canning salt will ALWAYS be just salt. It's a great alternative.
Redmond real salt is the best.
Great video! Thank you for all the work you put into it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Man im so mad. I was doing pretty well somewhere between day 35-40 when i went off it for a valentines day date and now im back in the sugar cravings and struggling! I bloated up like 5lbs too and that is hanging around
That sucks! Just get back on it and the inflammation will be gone in a few days :)
All those Walmart prices are significantly higher in my city.
These are very good ideas. Ive been eating terrible and its catching up to me. Will be starting the carnivore beginning with my next grocery haul

What, I thought she did. Great value brand from Walmart?

I would have to draw the line at those eggs. The cheap ones like this are usually from birds that are held in horrible circumstances. I will gladly pay more for humanely treated chickens.
I totally agree.
