2015 vw passat 1.8 tsi T vine I will like to replace my engine due to high Oil consumption 1 quart every 200 miles replaced PC valve and nothing change for oil consumption
@@carlosrzavala4650 I was considering buying a 2009 A5 2.0Ltr with 80,000 miles . private owner with good service history - but I am a little tentative before I part with my cash.. seems to be too much risk on these engines circa 2009 - well known for oil consumption and timing chain issues = money pits
Dude you’re my saving grace! Just bought a 2011 Audi A4 Quattro and a month later the engine blew with less than 90k on the odometer. A shop quoted me $11k to replace it with another used engine which I’m not able to afford currently. With this video I’m very confident I can get the swap done myself.
@@TrafficTravelDelight finally found a junkyard engine yesterday with only 30k miles on it. Picking it up Friday and hoping to have it running by Monday!
@@noahkeith4366 I would suggest take your time and do a refresh on the motor before you put it back in . Make sure the chain tensioner isn’t out too far. That’s awesome though bro get some of that knowledge and know how
NaptownTuner I have a 2012 Q5 2.0T with a p0016 collation code. It's got 250,000 mi. Is it worth just doing the timing chain. I don't think the valves are bent
Thanks for the tips I m a 30 years mechanic But yours tips made much easier I got new engine fron the dealer Car run great now No more adding oil every 400 miles
Thanks for your videos, they are very edicational. I'm geting ready to pull my engine, it's time for timing chain change and also have many oil leaks and thernostat codes. My question is... is this the same procedure for a standar transmission? Thanks
Really enjoy your enthusiasm!! Mine is 2010 A4 quattro with oil consumption woes! in Wisconsin!! This video is for automatic,is it easier or harder for manual.Great stuff for us do-it-yourselfers!!thanks
I have a 2008 a4 2.0t B7 quattro with with tip transmission. I'm pulling the engine and Im stuck on the torque converter bolts. Ive gotten access through the starter but cant get them do move at all. Any suggestions? I like the access panel on the B8 in this video. Seams much easier.
What is the wire connection with 2 wires, white with red strip and yellow with red strip Laying under the fuel pump? I can't seem to find wire it plugs in. It's laying over the trans. In your video
One reason is, if the water tight seal is shifted or damaged from the ecu box then water damage can occur and take out the computer, relays, pinned connections and so on. Also if you are moving the harness around with the engine in my opinion there is more of a chance to get a wire pulled or pinched, crush a connector or so on.
To fix oil consumption issue, Is it required to replace the cylinder head as well along with pistons and timing chain? Kindly advise. (2013 Audi q5, 2t, tfsi, it burns 1 qt /600 miles)
hello, I'm registered. I'm here from Brazil. Could you tell me what type of screw fixes the engine Cushion support to the driver's side block of the Audi a4 2007?desde de já agradeço.

these videos are great but i feel like theres so many steps you can avoid in pulling this engine just by simply taking the whole front end off? or is this really the more efficient way to do it?

Question, I have the the same car in a 6speed Will it still come out the same way our will the front clip have to come off ?
Love ur Vids, subbed to you my friend for sure 👌
Is the vw 1.8 tsi pretty close to the same as this 2.0 ? Curious how much you work on those

Nobody knows
What extra would i have to remove when dealing with a manual transmission?
You are the man, man !
how much different is the B8 3.0t engine removal?
Can you take off a standard one the same way without removing rad ?
Why not unplug ECU??...its designed to be unplugged there instead of all sensors

Where do I reconnect the power cable once the engine is back on please
Quick question can u remove the transmission without taking out the engine?
He when you put back the exhaust manifold gasket do you put anything on the gasket like silicon?
Nope just the gasket

No need to change cylinder head. Only pistons or pistons and rods depending on what you want to do.

triple square
@@trevorwagner3396 Thanks for the answer.
Is that 18mm triplesquare or 18mm 12 spline bolts that hold the engine to the transmission?
18mm 12 point bolts. The 3 on the bottom are 16mm.
I have the same vehicle but I have lower subframe damage. Removing the engine is a must in order to change the Subframe?
No you can support the engine from the top with a engine support beam
