I’m in Indianapolis and travel FAR. Many states away for the right cars/ deals. I want to buy your 2.0t 2009+ a4 a5 a6 q5 that has a failed engine for any reason. If you want to keep it and fix it I could travel to you and fix it mobile mechanic style to help my career/ TH-cam gig. NaptownTuner@yahoo.com If I don’t reply soon hit me up on here then I’ll check back at the email thanks
You’re the man! I’m a ford tech, and got one of these into the dealership that ended up needing an engine. It was busting my balls big time my for few hours until I watched these.
Thanks for these videos. I bought a broken A4 and replaced the engine following your excellent guide. My only tip is to check that the starter motor works on the bench before putting it all back together!
@NaptownTuner, your videos are insane. You should title it 2.0t Engine Removal with One Hand! Your experience shows. Thanks for sharing, it is very helpful.
NaptownTuner your saved me lots of money not sending my 12 Q5 tfsi out for a complete tear down to get ready for new pistons and rings. Wish I could repay you for the excellent videos. You should have a patron option for the real subscribers. Wish me luck on the rebuilding end of this project.
Love these videos, I've learned so much and saved so much money and with that money saved I invested in really good tools to make jobs even easier. Thanks!
7:31 Can you remount the x-brace after unbolting everything else and use it with a block of wood (or other) to support the transmission instead of using a floor jack?
@@NaptownTuner least I can do man. I bought a B8 A4 and the engine blew two months later. Your video series makes me extremely confident I can do this swap myself!
I removed a Manual tranmission/ engine off this. Cherry picked the engine out. Had to remove the fly wheel bolts. Can I bolt the new engine back to the tranmission without messing with the basket/ clutch plate? Like I do in Automatics? Obviously the shaft has to line up and the dowl pins. I don’t know if I have to remove the plate that stayed inside the tranmission. Almost like those American cars were the basket stays in tact with the engine. No converter bolts
Sent an Email, want to send a few $$ as your videos really helped us yank a 2011 A5 engine this weekend! Plus I have a wrecked A5 that i will be selling!
Thanks so much for doing these videos. Im glad I found your channel because it was really easy to follow along and have the info sink in. You make it look easy but you do a great job at explaining and showing the process so when it was time for me to pull my engine I was able to get it done a lot faster because of you. I look forward to future content and will enjoy catching up on your older stuff.
Your patience is incredible. Must be hard to one hand stuff and camera in other hand. Just wondering if you delete words after things drop, fail to come off, breaks?
Hi there I followed your 3 videos to pull a 2 litre tfsi I've done lots of body and Volkswagen work in the past more situated these days towards TDI engines however I realize installing the engine is just the opposite of the three videos to remove but you have incredible tricks do you have videos for installing the 2.0 tfsi engine your video is awesome
i have a 09 a4 avant wagon and i am chasing a air leak , i have a catch can and a test pipe set up i have changed gaskets on a few things i was wondering if you could point me in the right direction on where to look?
Love your videos. question I see you had pulled 2.0t engine out with out the transmission. I need to do the same on a 2009 Audi a3. The engine goes sideways. Is it doable?
So we used your video series to replace the engine in my son's 2014 A4 Allroad. But the replacement engine he got was from an A4 and the bolt holes in the block for the fuel rail are missing. We pulled the fuel rail and intake out of an 09 CC, which if I understand correctly, is the right fuel rail at least for an A4. But neither intake will work as is. What is our best option?
I’m sure you have already verified your actual oil pressure then, most of the time it’s just a switch but if oil pressure tests low then yes tear into it
@@NaptownTuner Oh yeah I replaced sensor, put a gauge on it and confirmed a problem. I’ve got ferrous metal in my oil too. So something bad is happening. I plan on featuring the whole process. I just haven’t gotten to the tragic part of the story yet in my videos. I just can’t imagine doing all the work on my back so I might as well pull it and do it all upright. 😎😂
@@YogisGarage b7 high pressure fuel pump cam follower likes to shred metal and sometimes it doesn’t set the fault or check engine light until the intake camshaft and high pressure pump are trashed. On that engine I’d drop the pan after checking the fuel pump because most people don’t clean up the broken pieces of metal from the cam follower/ fuel pump. Plus the oil pump is built into an expensive balance shaft assembly. You probably know all that too though. these 4 cylinders have their problems for sure. People do the timing belt but never replace the chain/ tensioner in the back of the head and eventually they sometimes come apart
@@NaptownTuner My first video was replacing the cam follower and luckily it was in great shape and the cam lobe was nice and smooth. I’m thinking it might be the balance shaft sprocket or a clogged pickup or both.

NAPTOWN wassup man!!! I been staying low key but steady watching you do your thing, keep up the good work bro. Hey quick question and I hope you're able to reply. I know you must remove the (3) 16mm bolts on the drive plate by turning the motor over...well what do you do when the engine is seized?
Yes but the flex plate has a little bearing snout that sticks out further so it’s a definitely trickier to do without popping the front into service position, just need to use a pry bar out and in
I really appreciate it but I hate to ask for anything, I think to get the value I need out of this TH-cam thing, I’ll just start talking about life, purpose, Jesus and salvation more in the videos because that’s more important than anything and if I lose subs or get more haters then that’s ok. I really feel like all this is pretty easy anyway so I haven’t even branched out yet. Thanks for the offer though, it means a lot
Well if anything im definitely going to need your help and expertise with my engine swap. So at least I have something to offer you cuz. Great job. I'm having a hard time changing a seal on the plastic oil separator on the side off the engine block. It's under the water pump but the engine mount bracket is in the way. Any ideas? Keep the videos coming.
Still confused as to how the engine is up when you already unbolted the engine mounts. Wanna know before i go all willy nilly and drop the engine on my chest

the only difference will be no trans lines and no converter bolts
