Good day Mr PJ please advise me on why would my alternator overcharge my bettrey at 15 volts when engine is running, which then that make my bettrey boils out the acid and kills the cells inside the bettrey. Thanks looking forward to your response.

Hi PJ.
I have a problem on tha second stage. That lever you are shaking next to the accelarator lever, is not working properly on my carb. It makes my car to run slowly after engaging gear number1 it takes long to go and it looks like is loosing power/strength. Then If i pull that lever a little bit forward towards the accelarator round lever the car runs faster than i expect and the accelaration is faster but the rev count goes yoo much lower to 5.
Please help how can i fix that lever thing

Hii there, I am currently facing a problem with my vw citi golf mk1 carb 1.3. I think it might have something to do with the second stage of the butterfly getting pulled, but sometimes when i drive and i accelerate the rpms will drop and the car wil sometimes backfire and then right after it wil return to the rpms it was, this only happens in a few seconds and not continuously, mostly when the acceleration pedal is being stepped on, what can be the problems here and is there any way for me to test things out for solutions? I would appreciate the help😁

I have been having issues with my 1989 fox
1800 CTI head with 1600 block
I replaced the carb base plate 5 times since December
I just fitted an aluminum base plate and fitted paper gaskets top and bottom
I have a problem when changing gears. As soon as I tap on the accelerator then the revs drops as if the car cuts out and comes back again
I had this issues with broken rubber base plates but now that I have the aluminum one on it still does that
I checked for leaks on all pipes,base plate and manifold but nothing
I am desperate for help
Please advise on what to do
How can I contact you directly in order for me to call you and explain in detail what's happening and hopefully you'll be able to guide me in the right direction

Better to replace that ..not sure if you can get it at spares shops...but you could get that part second hand off another Mk1 that's been stripped

Hi pj, live your videos brother, however im hoping you have any information you can pass on about my car, when i reach a certain rpm with my car the idle stays high even tho the throttle is all the way closed on the carb, when i tap the accelerator the idle drops, any info would be helpful thanks pj

It could be the second stage butterfly valve that gets stuck slightly .spray some carb cleaner down on it.and just ensure the links outside of carb are oiled up a bit ..use Q20

Hi pj when the carburetor is in working order there’s two barrels connecting to the base plate the smaller barrel which feeds fuel into the manifold works fine what does the bigger barrel do because when I was watching it’s doesn’t open or close neither does any fuel come out from there so what is the purpose for that barrel

Well that's exactly what this video is about..that barrel as you call it ,is the second stage .It only works under load .You won't see fuel coming out there while watching it..It works with engine vacuum..,when u reach a certain rpm..
