I had a large flower basket print scrap so I fussy cut some pieces, intending to put them on point and then suddenly realized I had no idea how to cut setting and corner triangles without a pattern! So THANK YOU for making this video. I have been puzzling for days!

Use caution with anything but water in the mister as the droplets are easily inhaled. I found inhaling the Best Press was causing breathing issues. Spray without leaning over the piece and allow ALL the mist to settle before pressing.
Love this instructional video! Question: if using striped fabric for the triangles, does the stripe have to run horizontally? I have one that I would like to run vertically.

Hi Karen, you can purchase my NYB pattern on our website www.onpoint-tv.com/product-category/patternsandbooks I make my patterns, paper piecing and otherwise using Electric Quilt 8, and there is tons of patterns included with that program. I am working on a new pattern/class for a Christmas wreath to come out soon :)
HI Donna, I have seen these, they are basically the same as the June Taylor Shape Cut rulers that have been around forever, way before the ones from CG - i have used them but for two reasons I'm not a huge fan; 1 - it's an extra ruler, most quilters already have a basic ruler and you can do the Power Cutting with your regular ruler, no need for a special purchase and 2 - I personally do not find them as accurate - those little slots tend to move a "smidge" when you are cutting, maybe not so much that everyone notices, but I noticed so for me, I will use the rulers i already own and us the money I saved on more fabric :). I have on-point patterns that indicate that one should sew his/her blocks into rows of two, four, six, four, two (for example), and then have you sew those rows together, then rotate the quilt and square the quilt, cutting off half of each on-point block to create the square edges. I’m nervous about this, as this doesn’t have the triangles as a “border” so to speak. I don’t know if this makes any sense, I hope so, because I’d like to know more about how to piece these types of patterns. Any suggestions? Would you be willing to make a video on this topic, or is it a more advanced technique?
Hi - I think i know what you mean and will try to schedule a quick video but basically what they are telling you to do is to cut that square on the edge in half, leaving a bias cut square on the edge of the quilt - not a good idea. A bias edge is very very stitchy and although it is possible to get the borders on before it stretches all out of wack it's not easy - and this method wastes fabric. I broke a needle because the hole was not bigger. So dumb it cost me $100 because I tried to change the needle and it fell in the machine and I have numb hands and no way could I get it out. Lesson learned let my hubby change the needles.
HI Brenda, i use the "normal" face plate, the one with the slot. Because i move my needle to the right to get my 1/4" stitch i can't use the single hole face plate. To use the single hole face plate i would have to use the 1/4" presser foot which i have not purchased and if i can do the stitch with what i already own, I'm not one to spend money on a new foot when i could purchase more fabric with that money instead :) - Nancy

I have the gallon of Best Press and two bottles like you have and love them. It is the most economical way as our quilting supplies do add up.

Where do you buy that mister for spraying, I looked on ebay and amazon, I don't see it. Joanne fabrics has the best press cheaper.
I bought my misting spray bottle at a beauty supply store, Sally Beauty in my area. I’ve also seen them at my local quilt shop.

Nancy do you use a round hole throat plate not the slotted one for wide sideways stitches? Sorry don’t know the proper terminology.

just finished a 'On Point " top and before I added the border it wasn't square .
Be sure to follow the bordering instructions to get the quilt square.
