The book also provides the yardages and cuts for a crib or twin size quilt. Nancy will be cutting fabric for the crib size. You'll have to cut more fabric for the twin size.
In the first lesson, Nancy talked about choosing fabrics and how to fold them. In this lesson, she is going to talk about cutting the fabric. She loves to power cut.
All the tools and notions can be purchased at www.firesidequilts.com.
Join us for the next episode to learn how to sew a scant quarter inch seam allowance and make the nine patch block. Thank you so much for watching!

The very first video of yours I watched was from 4 years ago, episode 101, power cutting, and I've been hooked ever since. Your explanations are so clear and make so much sense. I love them all! Thank you so much for taking the time to teach us.

I have been quilting off & on for several decades and since retiring a few years ago I have gotten into quilting often daily. I've even taught several others how to get started. However I happened to see a video of yours last week and I am going back and watching many of your older videos. I especially like the power cutting video but enjoying all in the Basics videos. Thank you so much for sharing. I am sharing these with others 👍

Oh my gosh. I have been teaching myself to quilt by watching lots of videos. I told my husband that I don't think I'm cutting right but I don't know what I am doing wrong. Now I get it and I am so going to try the power cutting. Hopefully it will make the difference. Thank you for such clear and understandable instructions.

I use a 2-1/2 lb. ankle weight to help hold my rulers down. Works really well for me, also a 5 lb hand weight works as well.

Thank you! I've been trying to teach people to cut using the ruler instead of the mat for years!! I tell them that what they're cutting off should be under the ruler. I love power cutting. Its so easy and efficient. I started doing it when I was making log cabin quilts w/ 1.5" strips. I can count in 1.5" units. It's a weird skill to have...but useful for quilting.
