This is what I love about this show(other than my wife leaving the room when I put it on). There's no prepared questions and polished interviews here its just off the cuff and a couple of guys talking and geeking out over cars. Cant beat it.
The quality of Jay's interview skills. Two knowledgeable men discussing a shared interest to share with others. Got to love it. I definitely love this car. Wonder if my wife would mine if I sold her to buy it?
I love it when the person speaking about the car is well informed and passionate. Great video. Thank you so much for bringing us content like this free of charge Jay.
+Dr. Bananable Lector Except with amazing ride quality and the usable day to day torque of an LS. Downshifting is for the plebs, usable power in ALL the power band. xD
Many many years ago I buddy of mine had a 1967 Mustang back when it was "just a used car" and the only tool kit he carried (even on road trips) consisted of a hammer, a screwdriver (flat) and a spool of baling wire. As navigator it was part of my job to carry a 6" crescent wrench, "just in case".
Looks just like a sand rail with a jet mixed with Indy body. Kinda cool I guess. I can see where the price is where it's at. Porsche transmission LS motor and Indie patent suspension. I bet this this handles GREAT.
I've had that same idea for quite some years now. that's how my perfect setup for street would be. By going to a lighter spring and stiffer shock you can control the transgression just as well while still keeping a flat curve.
@@alikermani6731 Wouldn't it still be aero limited in terms of top speed? The guy who created it has a video of comparing the Drakan with the C8 (yes, the C-Eight) Z06 and he straight out said its aero limited.
@@hickyricky5913 yes open wheel is horrible for aero. But acceleration from 0-150 would still benefit from more power. In my opinion performance in the 150+ range is mostly just bragging rights. How often do people really use it?
I see a lot of negative comments about the cost. So has an LS3 engine , but are we forgetting about all the other parts? the mirrors look to be carbon fiber , Wilwood brakes, Porsche transmission, and that's just what I got from this video. not to mention the price of Labor to put it together. I think a hundred grand is for this car. I'd like to see a parts list
Not that I can afford it but 100k for what amounts to a super car is pretty reasonable,I'd like to see more performance stats on it...Shame Top Gear isn't around anymore,We miss you guys
Shout out to Shinoo for rocking the bucket hat and shades, I always wonder how Jay can ride around with no hat and glasses in California and not look like a leather bag.
+Liemciemdk89 The LS engine is a lot of the reason this thing is only $100K as compared to $250K like the Mono. Exotic engines like the Cosworth that's in the Mono come with a hefty price tag. And building a chromoly chassis like that isn't easy or cheap by any means, not to mention the amount of time and money spent in the designing and R&D to develop the chassis and suspension and tuning it all to actually make it work. As well as all the one off parts that have to be designed and machined. There's a lot more to it than just a cobbled together tube chassis and an LS.
+gus bisbal The developers of this car pretty much did buy a crate version of a porsche gearbox. unless they gutted stuttgarts finest that is. That be awful
240p club! Love that it has a V8 but it doesn't look nearly as cool as the Atom, Mono, or X-BOW in my opinion. Sounds pretty good and I bet it's fun to drive. And I like that guy's hat, haha.
I would say it isn't quite as cool looking as those three, but it is a much nicer car, and more practical. If you want more stunning, look for the picture online of a rendered yellow one with front and rear wings. It looks awesome. I'm sure they'd build it on request.
I really like this thing, and the very knowledgeable designer. The way they built it you could drive 400,000 miles with little more than the scheduled maintenance (and maybe a head gasket), the performance and build quality are well worth the price IMO.
He brought the mono, and Jay kinda eluded to the fact it was a single seater, And had no windshield. So he brought him a manual, 2 seater, windshield, and v8. Everything jay wants in a small car. Smart, I hope jay buys one!
That thing is sweet! Looks WAY better than the Atom. But that's my opinion. Looks well put together from what I can see. Like the guy who builds it. Seems like a nice guy.
Hi Jay, please invite the Splinter wooden supercar and people behind it to your show. I think it meets your requirement of unsual car and it´s made in USA. That would be a very interesting episode. Cheers.
The sound of that car is great, but so weird at the same time. It LOOKS like it should sound like a Lotus or something similar, small engine, high revving, turbo, etc. Instead it sounds like a Camaro. Unique mix.
Boutique sports cars, Pagani in Italy use a V12 with a carbon fibre body, BAC Mono Carbon tub and F3 4 cylinder. 'Murica LS3 V8 crate motor, Cro-moly tube frame, glass fibre and Wilwood brakes
+Ronery Tyrant Wouldn't be racist if he joked about mixing up a caucasian car builder with a caucasian actor. How is this different? If anything he jokes about the fact how he has trouble seeing difference between black people. Joking about a shortcoming is a way to critique yourself about that shortcoming, so I wouldn't call it racist. Trying your best to look for racism isn't constructive. This joke actually could be, even if it's not 'PC'.
Jay, have you ever thought to demo a Bowler Wildcat on your show? I think people would be amazed by the capabilities of one of the fastest, most durable off road vehicles available! Just a thought!!!
What a fun little toy. Nice that it just costs the "arm" and not the "leg" as well, he he. Can I get one with a matching trailer for umm, luggage, kids, mother-in-law, groceries, etc? Thanks Jay, entertaining as always. How about doing a true 'track day' with some "track day" cars? That might be fun.
Do the other 49 states have a special construction auto classification (as in calfornia) to register a car like this to drive on public roads? If not, how would you register this in the other states?
Jay Leno! When you are coming to Norway for the Nobel Prize Concert you should try out the car that innspired The Koenigsegg: the "Il Tempo Gigante" ! It's from an old classic Norwegian animation movie called Flåklypa Grand Prix( english title: The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix ) and they made a real life sized version afterwards. There is only one car build, so I would recommend you to contact the owner for a try. It looks like a steampunk car :)

Compared to other similar cars I guess!
I like that wee bloke - knows his stuff and a real enthusiast. I'd trust any car he made.
Good job, Shinoo. Well thought out and made with top quality, over-the counter components - that's the way to go!
Being a motorcyclist and sport car enthusiast since childhood, I'll take one!
