    as a SG local. warm welcome to SG! i do suggest you exploring Singapore heartlands such as Bishan or AMK via the Red Line MRT to see a different lifestyle than the city! ( or a newer estate area at Punggol waterwaypoint! ) food might be cheaper there too! Also do consider *Song fa* Bak Kut teh! ( its the Singapore version with pepper instead of herbal ) Song Fa Brand has a few outlets around Singapore that you can google map it ) lastly Mince Meat noodle ( Which is quite common in most hawker ( with extra vinegar ) just check the noodle booth

      @@EileenAldis live in London now. Singapore is a true global melting pot inthe East, mostly in terms of food. Just like Little India, you should try to soak in the vibes and yummy cousine of Arab Street. The city is safe for the locals and the tourists. Singapore offers something for all the tourists - young and the elders. The public transportation is just bang on. The city has a nice balance of modern and classic architecture, and greenery with developments. One left to wonder how this small sleepy coastal town turned around in a span of half a century, isn't it!

    When in Rome do what the Romans do. Both of you would have had the full experience of a good lunch, had you followed some of the locals dining at the Banana Leaf, that was eating without cutlery; instead with your hands. No one would have batted an eye, especially the staff. I have always done it in Indian restaurants in Singapore and is perfectly acceptable and encouraged.
    The restaurant does have sinks for patrons to wash their hands before and after the meal.
    One rule though, only use your right to touch your food and your left hand the serving spoon/s.
    Do it should you go again.

    • @EileenAldis
      @EileenAldis  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! We were with a local at the restaurant :) Unfortunately not easy to eat with your hands when you're filming haha. Hopefully we can do that another time. Do you have a favourite dish at the Banana Leaf you'd recommend?

      @@EileenAldis their dishes are all very good and it depends on what one feels like. I am impartial to their mutton(being goat's meat) and any one off their one off their menu will do. This meat needs to be cooked a certain way to bring out the best and they do justice to this meat. I am salivating as I am typing this reply.
