The beauty of Halal food in Singapore is that you get to savour food from all over the world in accordance to the Halal guidance that's given strictly by the Islamic Council of Singapore. I mean often times when you have Muslims coming to certain countries they'd be skeptical or apprehensive on whether the food is Halal or not so they'd only resort to only consuming food that they're familiar with.
Like when you have Indian Muslims or Muslims from the Middle-east coming to Singapore, they would not venture food that's beyond their own culture.
But given the melting pot of Singapore's culture we [Singaporeans] are lucky get to try food from all the corners of the world that are in accordance to the Halal preparation. And for that we're glad to say that we're progressive enough from being tunnel-visioned and expand horizon in trying not just food but our way of thinking as well.

sultan mosque is the only mosque that can call to prayer with ultra loud speakers. for muslims, we pray 5 times a day. the call to prayer takes abt 3mins each prayer itself takes ard 10-15mins. after prayer, the imam usually reads more supplications for ard 5mins. when you add it all up, yeah its around 25-30mins total :) and its 5 times a day!
thanks for enjoying the halal food scene in Singapore! appreciate it alot! :))

Go around and do explore the island, ask the locals where are the great food joint, more of wat the real local foods were.. We have 4 (Chinese, malay, Indian & others) or more races here in Singapore, do try their own respective food and eat like the locals.. Makes your trip here worthwhile at least..

What you thought was the call of adzan is actually the prayers recitation. For congregational prayers at Sultan Mosque, the Imam's recitation is broadcasted over speakers (it's the only mosque allowed to do that in Singapore) > with exception during Ramadhan, where most mosques are allowed to broadcast the prayers recitations.

    Victory vs Zam Zam…
Walking down memory lane… back then, at the same vicinity there were 3 reknowned restaurants famous for their Murtabaks & Briyanis. There were Singapore Restaurant on the left, Zam Zam in the middle & Victory on the right. However, since 1985 until today there’s Singapore Zam Zam & Victory. Personally, Victory’s Murtabak is the best but Singapore Zam Zam’s Briyani is good. Nonetheless, the best Murtabak in Singapore was from the defunct Queens Murtabak located near the former Queens theatre at Lorong 40 Geylang & the former Jubilee restaurant that served yummilicious Briyani back then alongside Islamic restaurant at their old location. Wow how time flies 🙏🏻🫡🤟👍🏼😊

Sultan mosque or masjid Sultan is the only mosque in Singapore that is allowed to record their prayers and call of prayer through the speaker to be heard throughout the area. What you've been hearing is the call of prayer or adhan for the first five minutes and the rest is the heavy prayer called sholat. If i was there i would have recommend you to have dinner at Kedai Minang it mainly prepare dishes from padang(west Sumatra) and locally malay dishes, as a cook i can really say it's quite delicious

Salam Brent! Thank you for visiting Sunny Singapore and eating Halal food!
I got particularly offended at the behaviour of the Zam Zam staff. Price shown was $17.00 and then proceeds to tell you its $20.00. I think the person is pushing you to pay higher price because you are a tourist. It hits my morals. I just felt its not right. I felt so bad such behaviour was displayed to you.
Nonetheless, i hope you enjoyed Singapore, just like how i enjoyed watching your video!

In the mosque First one was call for prayer. And then 5 minutes was the actual prayer service. In some places the prayer also made on loudspeaker if the sound doesn't reach the attendance in the back.

Hey Brent, you can try Teh Halia (tea) or Kopi Halia (coffee). Halia is ginger. So it's ginger milk tea or ginger milk coffee. You can tell them kurang manis - pronounced "koo-rung maH-nis" if you want it less sweet. I usually love it hot.

There are not deer farms in Singapore, I think. There are deer farm on the Malaysian peninsular and on the Borneo island especially in Keningau.

Crispy Potato or Sardine Curry Puffs are always nostalgic. In our early not so rich years of Sg, our Makcik (Malay Aunts), carried a basket go doors to doors with their home made curry puffs. Then was like 5 or 4 delicious piece for a dollars, best with Kopi.

I feel you. I like going cashless so it sucks if credit or contactless payment not accepted or available. But then again, i don't like that some place is charging customers for credit or contactless payments.

Teh Tarik/ Teh Terik - is pulled tea. Tarik means Pull. The tea is made frothy by pouring from one glass to another glass from a distance, back and forth.

Best biryani : Shami banana leaf (mutton & chicken) at Northpoint shopping centre at Yishun
Best Lamb mandi : tabbouleh at arab street
Best carrot cake : sengkang kopi tiam ( halal)
The place that you went to is for tourists.
Perhaps you can try taking the train and explore more of Singapore

Brent, food as long as it's meat you've to check if it's halal, fish, vegetarian and drinks are mostly halal by default except for alcoholic beverages. Singapore has a clear halal sign on every store and we've a variety of halal foods, so we go for an officially halal establishment usually, where even the fish is not cooked in a non-halal kitchen. You need a much longer time to explore all the fusion foods here, hope you enjoy it while it lasts 😊
