9:40 Ann, it's pretty easy to use chopsticks. It elevates the eating experience too. Try practicing at home with the wooden ones. It's easier to pick up food. Once you get the hang of it, move to ceramic and then stainless steel (Korean).

Has anyone told you that you look like Nadine Lustre? (probably even the better version) Anyway, i hope you guys tried all the food there esp chili crab, carrot cake, satay, bbq stingray, char kway teow, oyster omelette, fried hokkien mee, chicken rice, kaya toast and kopi c, nasi lemak, etc. Singapore is really a foodie haven! Been staying here for 16 years and i still can't get enough of the food here. Chinatown actually is not the cheapest. There's Maxwell food centre, also Newton Food centre where they shot Crazy Rich Asian. I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay here.

Was just in Chinatown Singapore this early May 2024 . I think I went to the same juice vendor in the Chines food court. I had the honeydew melon drink, it was the best one I've ever had!!! Yes that food court was much cheaper than the food stalls on the street. We got there a 830am before most of the tourist on a Thursday, no lines. Though most stalls on lower street were closed. FYI the Chines food court(open for breakfast) is across from the large Buddhist Temple on 2nd or 3rd floor. Don't eat breakfast at the hotel, find the street food! FYI, I also had the best pearl (bobba) milk tea ever later that night. I cant remember the brand(cup had a square orange lid) but it was on the South/East side of New Bridge Rd boarding China Town. Be kind and buy some tissues from the local elders selling at your table for Singapore $.

Hawker centre is basically street food which is supposed to be relatively cheaper than restaurants and stuff. Though you definitely can find slightly more expensive dishes and even premium dishes in hawker centres. The same dish in a restaurant setting might set you back about 2 to even 10 times the price of a hawker centre. Though in restaurants there are 10% service charge and 7% tax charge(there might be an increase to 9% soon in the future) that is fixed for most if not all restaurants, unless stated otherwise.

Homework on places to stay because Chinatown is the only place in ALL of Singapore you can find Hotels with private rooms with private bathroom and air conditioner for as low as $$50.00 per night. Hi, i guess you guys were mostly eating in the malls? It generally cost $3-$6 per meal at a hawker centre/coffeeshop. The fried kway teow you bought as takeaway is best eaten when its hot - tastes different when its cold.

Why the food is cheap compare to the ones you both eaten at the mall is because hawker centre the rental is cheap, the stall is subsidy by the government so of course the food is cheap at the hawker centre. And for the answer you thought singapore is expensive, because tourist people who come to singapore they only do research from TH-cam videos or website for tourist guide. And of course they provide information that most tourist will go and not locals will go. That why when tourist come to our country, they always say singapore is expensive. Just remember come to every country, try to live like a locals and explore like the locals.

One thing I don't like about people sharing food videos is because you can only see it but you can't smell or eat it no matter how delicious it is. I hate it! (Just joking with you🤣, no worries😂. It's not your fault at all because it's clearly online and not "physical" food sharing so that's fully understood of how torturing it is for those of us who are not there and yet feeling crazily hungry while watching your video, by they way that's why I seldom or almost never watch any food videos, hahahaha...). Anyway thanks so much for introducing such nice food in Singapore. Hope you two have a fantastic time in Singapore. Enjoy yourself for a good relaxing time and great food time too. Keep up the good work, take care and God bless you:)
