I haven't watched the full docu but I've seen some stuff about it especially pcs. While I don't doubt or minimize the trauma she got from that hell hole I just find it a bit shady that she is trying to portray herself as being all innocent. Having trauma doesn't excuse you from the consequences of your own actions.
Of course you can grow and learn from your mistakes but you can't rewrite history and you have to except that what you did wasn't and will never be ok and live with that. That's the least you can do. She is in no way Innocent and whether you think she's a good person or not is just that _an opinion_ but she is also another victim of this school, a person can be multiple things and that's what makes us human.

I grew up with these girls (born in 1991), the whole west coast rich california it girl thing was huge. Everyone was into Laguna beach, the OC, the hills and shopped at Hollister etc. Girls at my middle school were obsessed with Paris and Nicky and would try to talk like her, wore all pink and acted like mean valley girls. It was like this whole cultural moment around teenage girl cattiness with the popularity of gossip girl, the clique, Mean girls etc. Everyone wanted to be the popular girl and it created such a toxic environment to grow up in honestly, if you didnt fit in with that look and the popular girl group, kids were so brutal, everyone was looking for someone else to flex on because there was such a culture of gossip and bullying being pushed by the media and hollywood. I'm glad gen z is more empathetic and hopefully it's more okay to be different and have a unique identity than it was with my peers.

It's up to the person to cope in a healthy and positive way. Yes, the person shouldn't have had to deal with the trauma that influenced their future behaviors and attitudes, but for their sake and those around them, they need to cope healthily.
So, yes, you can-and should-show Paris empathy for her struggles, but there also needs to be accountability due to the fact that she is her own person with the ability to get access to helpful resources.
tl;dr : she should get empathy and there needs to be understanding that her trauma stripped her- at *least* in some respects- of her individual autonomy, that does not excuse her behavior which negatively affects her and those around her, it only explains it.

So i can see how it would awkward to throw that in there? She did mention that her getting involved with sex-tape-guy was because she was so traumatized - she could say that lead to the drug abuse/partying too. Honestly it's so hard to tease apart these issues.
I find it hard to believe that anyone living that kind of life (socialite, being famous, gorgeous, insanely wealthy, having no responsibilities, living in LA/NYC..) WOULDN'T party in their twenties. It happens with typical run-of-the-mill college kids..
It would be very different if Paris or Lindsay were acting like this now, in their 30s. They have both seemed to grow up, get healthier, and move on.

At the time, I remember feeling soooo bad for Lindsay because she was bullied terribly by Paris. Plus, it was sad to see Paris’ fortunes rise while Lindsay’s fell and she has no career today. 😢

@@noworriesxox There was a documentary made about her a while back and it opened my eyes. She acts like a brat and a child... but I fully understand it. (That doesn’t mean it’s an excuse of course, but it explains her behaviour). Her parents were, and are, repulsive. They used her and abused her, as did all her friends. 🤔 She was famous from a very young age and I think the trauma of your parents seeing you as a product (her dad literally sells stories about her using drugs etc) and although there’s no proof, I have no doubt their lack of interest in her probably means that she was left alone as a kid on movie sets etc...with people LIKE Harvey Weinstein 😑😔 We all know the abuse that kids have experienced in Hollywood. She’s so so damaged and even though it’s not appropriate behaviour, I fully understand why she behaves the way she does
