Congratulations on reaching 4k+ subscribers! I love watching your vidoes. Your stitching is incredible and it's always fun to see what you've picked up at the antique shops and thrift stores! I love your fabric choices, especially the ones you dye yourself! This time of year I mainly stitch in the family room. Spring and summertime I often stitch on the deck where I can enjoy the garden. You are looking lovely today Tudi!

I stitch in the living room, where I can watch what I want on TV. Husband watches almost exclusively sports, in our den, which doesn’t appeal to me. The fabric you dyed is gorgeous. Love all your stitching. Good luck with your cataract surgery, just had it 10 months ago. You’ll be surprised with how your vision had declined. The colors after surgery are so bright, the car headlights are no longer glaring. Life changing!

Hi Dina, I always stitch in our family room where I have my light. I never stitch in my sewing room. My nest is in the family room, although I finish in my sewing room. My scroll frame does not have fabric on the rods, so cross stitch fabric can not be sewn on. I use painters tape. It does not leave any glue on the fabric. It's easy to remove but you must do it slowly and release any threads that stick. I always cross stitch on my lap in my family room recliner. My craft room is where I have my sewing machine, cutting table, ironing board and supplies for quilting, wool applique, painting and cross stitch. Garden, spring, fabric

  • @kristenjacobsen

I have a room in my house. It's my office (I work from home), my craft room (though I also use the dining room table for things like cutting fabric or sewing), and my exercise room (I have a treadmill). I usually cross stitch in my office. It gets very good light in the morning, and decent light until the sun goes down.
I use a floor stand - a Edmunds Stitch Master Hands Free Floor Frame that I got from 123 stitch. I use a large hoop to hold the project I'm working on that day. (I always remove my project from the hoop at the end of the day to avoid hoop lines.) I've tried to use a scroll frame, but I haven't gotten comfortable enough to use them. Most of my projects are huge full coverage designs - so I'd need bigger equipment than I currently have to do it. (And I don't have room in my little office to put one of those huge Monstrick floor stands - much less the storage room needed for all the scroll frames with the projects on them - because I have 30 projects on the go, and more than twice that kitted up and ready to start.)

Thank you for a lovely flosstube!! I don’t have a frame yet so really enjoy your knowledge. I sew in my craft room; knit, crochet, hand sewing, and embroider in my recliner; and I cross stitch at my dining room table. We have an open dining room/kitchen/family room so I can see the tv from the dining room. If my sisters come down for craft weekend, then I set up my Featherweight at the dining room table. fabric

Fun thrift haul! I haven't been doing much stitching this month, but going thrifting has been a nice break for me lately. I upcycled a few things and gave my powder room room a makeover with thrifty finds. Being creative with my purchases has brought back the urge to stitch a little bit so I am happy about that. I stitch in my craft room during the day: it has a large window so the light is great. At night I stitch in the family room with hubby while he watches TV. Enjoyed your video!

I have a craft/sewing room but I never cross stitch in it. I cut material, sew with my machine & store all of my craft supplies in it. I do almost all other crafts in that room but I cross stitch in my living room on my loveseat with 5 teacup/toy poodles around me. I have a cloth basket that holds my project bag, wip, threads and my bag with needles& equipment I may need. I cut material today for 8 project bags so I will be in my craft/sewing room a lot this week. I always like how you show your wips, ffo's and new & old projects I also liked hearing about your life & family...including your fur babies. I had a pom & love seeing yours. Mine was the smartest dog I had ever owned. She understood everything I said. Take care.

I look forward to your videos to calm my mind and just relax. Your stitching is amazing and I love Prairie Schooler patterns. I stitch in our livingroom while watching television. I use scroll rods or a hoop (only if it's a really small stitch). My chair is a recliner, so I put the foot up, put my feet on that so my knees are bent and my scroll rod frame rests on my lap. I'm a two handed stitcher and I use a floor stand with a 3x magnifier that has led lights around it. I do have a craft room, but because I don't have room for a comfortable recliner in there, I store x stitch floss/fabric, scrapbooking materials, and yarn with yarn patterns.

Good lighting always seems to be the key factor. Loved this video.

Hello again Deana from Laurel in Canada! I forgot to say last time that Tootie is just precious! My grandma had a bird named Tootie so it makes me smile. My daughter's name is Hannah ☺️ I stitch on my couch in the living room with my feet up due to health stuff. I used to stitch in hand using the sewing method, but for some reason I thought these were bad habits so when I recently started stitching again I bought a couple of q snaps 😁 (a nice large one at the thrift store for $2) I love all of the things you collect. I was just thinking that I want to bring out my antique sewing basket again that's full of old goodies so you reminded me of that. You have made some amazing headway on your stitching and I look forward to seeing you next time. Take good care, Laurel 💕

Thank you Laurel. I love antiques. Especially the sewing items. I've tried stitching in hand a couple of times and I just couldn't get the hang of it plus I shift like handling my fabric all the time. Q snaps and scroll frames are what I like. I'm planning on doing a tour of my sewing rooms at some point but I've been cleaning and organizing them right now. Have a great day!❤️

    Hi Deana & pups x 5 (&hubby too!),
I have a severe lack of space so right now I stitch in my office/pseudocraftroom on literally a 12 x 12” space in my open antique Singer sewing machine with an Ott light, magnifiers & either audiobooks or flosstubes playing. I did do “Death by Crossstitch” on a large table stand on my bed back when I had cable TV. Floor stands leave a lot to be desired, imho. I envy everyone with great stitchy setups! I ❤️ the craft so I forge on.

I occasionally use to stitch in my craft room until we had our second grand and put that crib in my craft room-so until our youngest (5th grand) no longer uses it while we babysit him- my craft room is strictly for storing my crafts. I also stitched Quaker Gone Tropical- I did it monochromatic using a Threadworx thread. I loved doing that piece. Loved seeing your stitching!

I love all the information and ideas you share with us. I really like seeing your thrift shop hauls. Why don't I find those things when I go? Are you just ahead of me in the store finding all the treasures? Dyeing your own fabric sounds like a hassle to me, but you come up with beautiful results. I mainly stitch at a table. Currently in the kitchen, but in the craft room if I ever clear it out enough. Maybe this summer, I'll stitch a little on my swing in the garden. Happy stitching.

Wow! Great treasures you found junking! Your Pomeranian is super cute! My stitching and sewing buddies are two long hair dachsunds 🥰 I stitch everywhere in my house🤪 my favorite stitching is in the morning in bed. I open the drapes, turn the overhead light on and then put on my magnifying head piece with a light. I just stitch on 36 ct and lower or do my needlepoint. I save my 40 ct and tight 36 ct for in my family room with better lighting. Oh- I wanted to say thank you again for sharing! I bought the sampler girl chart by m designs. I need to choose fabric and look at my threads before I can start it. I will try and finish one of my wips before I start it 🙄😝 but I might just start it as soon as I get it kitted up. Can’t wait to see your progress after 5 days. I do the same as you - I work on my larger wips for 5-7 days with smalls in between. Happy stitching!

I too have gotten the scam messages. I have a stitching spot in my sewing room where I get beautiful morning sun, and a stitchy chair in the master bedroom for afternoon sun and living room for hubby time. And then there is outdoor stitching too. That is in AZ. Up north it is the same story, I stitch all over the house and outside in nice weather! LOL

In the evening, I stitch in my favourite chair. That orange case from goodwill was a travelling makeup case - I remember those from when I was younger.

I tried stitching in a chair in the living room but for many reasons that didn’t work out. I don’t comment often but wanted to say I watch all your videos and enjoy them. I also count my stitches with paper and pencil and at the end of the day put the count in my book just as you. Again thank you

Hi Deana, I enjoyed your video today, I love seeing all the ways you stitch. To answer your question about where I stitch… I stitch in our family room , I have what I call my stitching corner… my couch recliner and then I have an Ott floor light beside me and I have a window beside me and of course we have the TV , But I usually have my earphones on & I’m listening to floss tubers 😅. I’m like you I can’t see well enough to sew anywhere except where my lamp is so I don’t even try plus all my paraphernalia is here and let me tell you we cross stitchers have lots of paraphernalia don’t we😂😂
I did want to tell you I love your little flower lights in the shelf behind you where you video and I love love love the cat it looks like a door stopper to me is it ?

    • @thenightlystitcher
      @thenightlystitcher  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I really enjoyed your comment. We really do have a lot of "stuff" for stitching. My flower lights are there to remind me to check to make sure my iron is off when I leave my sewing room for the day. When i turn the ceiling light off they show up even better. The cat is not used as a door stop but if it had more weight in it , it could be used as one.

Thanks for the great visit and hope you don’t get to much ❄️🙈. Due to my ole eyes I need a BRIGHT light, mag eyes, along with my rx glasses so I stitch in my stitchy room and watch flosstube or listen to books as I stitch. Use a Q-snap and my bight pink Lowery stand😂. Neighbors probably think I am performing surgery with as bright as my room is🙈. Hubby is not a tv person and is usually in bed by 8 pm as he is up and on the golf course most mornings by 7:30. Me I am the night owl..in bed around midnight and up around 8:30😳. Retirement is a wonderful thing😂😂😳. Happy stitching 🪡💕

@@thenightlystitcher retirement got me back into stitching after putting it aside when all the LNS’s closed that were close to me. Then we moved to tiny mountain town in WV to help with FIL, stage 4 bladder cancer. After he passed I was going stir crazy and some how stumbled on HAED’s which then lead me to online shops and much more manageable size projects. We just moved to North Myrtle Beach SC, my happy place and hubby can play golf 12 months instead of 4😂. Bonus there is a fast growing LNS only 40 minutes from me now, win win💕💕

The troll messages were out for Two Tall Stitchers also. The cutting board for $2 was a real find…so easy to cur fabric easily on that! I just printed the ornament charts from Brooks Books also…I am hoping to make 52 ornaments this year so those charts provide almost half of the total. I am not sticking to Christmas ornaments….working on valentines right now. Such fun!
