I’ve watched this video three times. I wrote a book of comments but I’ll condense it down to three. 1) The Good Huswife . In my opinion, you should go with your idea of making it more like the original. It would be spectacular. I know it’s not as easy as sitting down with a pattern where everything has already been done for you. I’m doing a sampler now with that Rhode Island style. I’ve completely changed the center scenes using about six other charts. I’ve even frogged several times. It has been worth it though. I love the vases with the flowering vines on both sides. I also have to have symmetry. 2) Your tip about picking colors you love from a fabric piece is very helpful. Anna on Quilt Roadies has a video with Jen Kingwell showing how to pick fabric for a quilt by using a main fabric and going around a quilt store pulling other fabrics. 3) Your oldest wip. I’ve had wonderful success getting stains out of vintage linens using Retro Clean. I bought it on Amazon. My sister and I finished a 70 year old quilt wip that was my mother’s first quilt project. She just couldn’t bring herself to finish it. Finishing that quilt contributed to me starting to quilt, ironically because I refused to be a quilter while my mother was alive although she tried very hard to convert me.
We have to come to a craft when our own mind is set to it. If my mother wanted me to do x, I would do my best at y. No idea why really. lol I have some retro clean and thought I would test it. I did have it cause a bleed once with crewel embroidery so I’ll just have to keep a close eye on it. I do so want to make it in the original style. We shall see when I get there. I probably will not be able to resist the urge. Thanks so much for stopping by today.
I have finished four of the Prairie Schooler Christmas Barnyard animals, and they sized 3 1/2 inch round on a 32 fabric. I just love the size. I finished them on the rounded metal discs that I bought at House of Stitches, can't remember what they were called, but the discs are no longer available. I will just make my own discs for the rest of them. But they are really nice ornaments.
I loved stitching HEC sampler. I have always been a monogamous stitcher until the last several years. Now I rotate between 3 or 4 and I get more done, go figure! Love your videos!
Oh, I Had a Father is my next big one if I find the fabric! It’s already been pushed back because I don’t have the fabric large enough. No w thinking I’m going to go with 46 count as my wall space is rapidly dwindling. It’s still going to be on the large side. Thanks for sharing all your pretty stitches. Love all the projects you plan to work on. I agree that the original Elizabeth Easton is so beautiful. I have the Goode Huswife pattern but would rather stitch it like the original too. I wonder why the designer didn't duplicate it exactly. Maybe the museum would not allow it.
I wondered that too. A lot of people don’t like doing the freehand embroidery so I could see changing that, but to eliminate 1/4 of the chart seems like a drastic change.
Once again, I’m sure we were separated at birth. 😂. About the drawstring bag you are doing, do you happen to know what the fabric line is for the floral fabric you held up? The one in the front. It made my heart go pitter patter! Also, I had never seen the La-D-Da project roll you showed. That immediately when on my list. I love so many of La-D-Da, but hadn’t seen that one. Looking forward to the next video. So glad Agnes is doing better!

@@mountaincraftsstudio I believe I kitted her with the called for floss and fabric. If I remember correctly, I asked Jucas at xJuDesigns if she could do a fat half of the called for fabric. I had it within two weeks.
Love planning parade ! The Christmas sampler I would keep in mind it’s busier fabric color so you might need the bright green to come through! Just my opinion.

Great projects, and I like your approach. I also need some flexibility in my plans to set aside a project for a while if I'm getting tired of it, to add in things that become more meaningful or to add projects for future gifting. You have some lovely samplers in the works!
Thanks, there are so many beautiful samplers out there it is hard to force yourself to just one. I sometimes would just not stitch if I was tired of the project I was working on. I think it would be better to just allow myself to enjoy something else for awhile.

I hope I'm not breaking a cross stitch etiquette in asking you if you are willing to share the floss colors you are using. I far prefer autumn/primitive colors to those on the pattern. I understand if this isn't possible. Thank you so much.
No problem! I am using Weeks Red Rocks, Sanguine, Lilly Pad, Loden, Hazelnut & Whiskey. I am also using Gentility Arts Uniform Blue and Tin Bucket. I’m considering changing Hazelnut out for something more yellow. I’ll decide for sure after tomorrow’s stitch.

What are your monthly ideas for knitting spinning weaving and quilting that intrest me more. Are you going to join the Bonnie Sullivan samplermaker BOM looks like a sampler but it is a quilt. Looks nice the price looks reasonable till I add exchange rate and postage for Australia it just puts it out of reach. I have too much to do anyway.if you get half of what you have thought of it will be a great year. Our summer is hot at the moment but Christmas was cold not usual for us cheers
I’m still thinking about other goals. I was really hoping my back was healed enough to let me back at the loom, but that might have to wait until the later part of the year. I need some rag rugs so I’m impatient. And my spinning wheel is calling my name but there is absolutely no way Agnes will be good while I spin. I may have to bring a wheel out to the studio and hide away alone. lol
Oh and while Bonnie’s pattern is beautiful I’ve been on a no new projects freeze for awhile. I’ll do a run through on one of my next videos and you’ll see why!
Sorry to hear your back is still not good hope it improves this year.I I am fighting meneries which keeps knocking me for a loop and lose the day so I take each day as it comes,play it by ear as I say. I understand your frustration
Could you share the colors you have changed in the 365 pattern and are you using 2 threads to stitch? A friend and I are going to stitch this. It is because you shared with us! Thanks! I just found your conversion colors. I would still like to know if you are using 2 threads over 2?
I’m using one thread. And it is turning out to be perfect. Two wouldn’t really work on some of the stitches. So glad you are joining in! There is a Facebook group, make sure you join!
