You've answered all my questions. Thanks a lot man. Just bought the AW2723DF Monitor with 240hz, so this video really helped
Glad I could help! 🤓😎

Thanks G I will sure try
Hello thank you for the information
I have Asus Tuf gaming 144hz gaming laptop . I’m planning to buy gaming monitor so should i go with 240 hz monitor or 180 which will be better choice coz i play competitive valorant
The Doritos edit got me 😂
Glad I could deliver information while also delivering a smile :)
Thx ❤️
Im having a small issue, when my laptop is connected to my monitor and i go into full screen some games dont look as good as they did when the screen was minimized ive tried a few things so far nothing has fixed it any advice would be appreciated.
Check the resolution of the monitor and set the game same as it ..

Can I connect my Razer Blade FHD 360HZ (screen) RTX 3080Ti GPU i7-12800H to a 4k monitor and game in 4k? Or 1440? Or is the GPU limited to fhd (ie 1080)? I'm seeking to buy a monitor for the laptop, but want to know how high I can go. Want to play MS Flight Sim 2020 mostly in as high a native res as possible. Thank you.
is there no use to buy a external monitor of i only have a integrated gpu? Like a intel iris xe
An external monitor with like a 60 hz difference from your laptop will allow more fps, but won’t produce more fps. Say your laptop maxes out at 60fps, your external monitor maxes out at 120fps, you can get up to 120, instead of 60, but your laptop can’t actually get an extra 60fps by plugging in to the monitor
thanks im getting 165 hz monitor and i have a 144hz gaming laptop so what fps do you think im gonna get
Me with a 165hz monitor and low end laptop that can only reach 144fps in creative
While it is true that the monitor won’t make your laptop render more fps, it will bypass the iGPU in most cases, and cause you to save system resources, thus causing a slight fps gain.
Probably 165
How i can change intel to nvidia desktop mode? Because i can’t change to nvidia, is only optim ( usb C)
Hello bro
My laptop is 144hz
My laptop dosen have dp port I bought 240hz gaming monitor my game is giving me 190-200 fps now but i want to buy Dp cable so should i buy Dp adapter to connect it or should i buy hdmi to Dp cable
Will connecting external monitor will increase response time? Pls help
Does it work, when I connect a 1080p gaming laptop to a 1440 gaming Monitor ? I mean can I get the 1440 resolution from the monitor, I'm not quite sure but it should work right ?
You can get the 1440p resoloution. I'm not sure about the FPS boost though as the laptop came with a 1080p panel.
Bro you answered my question
Glad I could help!

I have a old laptop with 60 hz i will get a monitor with 165 hz, so will it run the same or will it max out st the monitors 165 hz
What GPU do u have
i’d tell you just upgrade the computer brother
Yea, can anyone tell me should I buy it
i have asus zephyrus g15 with rtx 2060 max q and 240hz refresh rat..im planning to buy a 240hz external monitor do you think i can maximize the monitor specs,?
What do you mean by "Maximize" the specs?
chez. what will happen if I buy a 240 hz monitor for my laptop which has gtx1650ti and 144hz and what should I keep the monitor's default display hz in 144, 165 or 140hz? and thanx for ur video it really helped me a alot!!
No one hear to answer us Bro 😞😢
You will be able to run 1080p 240hz. I would leave the laptop at 144hz.
I have acer nitro 5. I played valorant on that but problem is fps is very low like 75-100. My display 144hz but my laptop can't generate 144fps. If i buy a acer nitro 165hz monitor can i get a 165fps on valorant? Sry my english is not good.
Bro using external monitor can Damage your laptops?
Or decrease performance of your laptop?
No
I have a problem, when I connect my monitor to the laptop using hdmi it doesn't use gtx 1650 like yours it uses the integrated graphics? How do I fix this?
Change it to the gtx 1650 if that doesn’t work then make the monitor ur main displau
Set it to use the 1650 in the Nvidia Control Panel.
PhysX config specifically.
Got 60hz predator Helios 1050ti, shit thermals, doesn't undervolt well, did thermal pasting once but still crosses 90 on aaa titles. Sadly gotta stick to less GPU intense games. Which monitor should I go with for realy good 4k quality, less bezels & moderate gaming?
I don't think the 1050ti will be able to support any games at 4k resoloution.
I checked techpowerup's website and 4k is not even a listed resolution for the GTX 1050ti. 1080p is yellow (meaning barely playable) and 1440p is red (meaning not playable). www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gtx-1050-ti.c2885
If u have an old lenevo laptop and you connect will it help alot?

@@Noo.nnamee That's the whole reason I left the comment
So my laptop monitor is 144hz, 1920x1080. Is a 144hz external with 2560x1440 worth?
If your laptop is capable of satisfying that 1080p 144hz display, it could probably get close to that 1440p 144hz. So I would say yes.
I got a 165 hz monitor for my 60 hz acer nitro 5 if i connect it would i get more fps on the 165 hz monitor?
Slightly yes.
hi, i have a 60hz screen laptop, i play lol-csgo-valorant ... should i buy a 165hz monitor? is it good even i get 100+fps in these games? will there be differences? bc even i get 100+fps, bc of 60hz it is not a good experience in valorant-csgo :( not bad for lol.
A 165hz monitor will be a nice upgrade, however if you only get around 120fps in these games you will want to cap your refresh rate at 120hz.
i am going to us external monitor on my laptop that have 60 fps ,and it over heat when i increase game resolution
does connecting laptop to monitor make laptop heat lower with higher fps?
It depends on how you orient your laptop. If you put your laptop under a blanket or close it on your desk, it will be hotter than if you left it opened.
I have a 60hz laptop but it cant go more than a 100fps in my game so if i buy a 144hz will it do screen tearing and stuff
It shouldn’t. I will release a 2023 fps boost guide this coming week and it should get you some extra performance and minimize the possible stutters.
hi pleas ei need help pls reply i wanted to ask cause i have a laptop its bad but in creative on low settings can get like 120 130 fps but like in arena it cant even stable 60 fps its so unplayable i was trna upgrade but im scared if i buy a monitor and my laptop cat hold it i would waste money i have a 60herts laptopc can i get like a higher refresh rate monitor and still get the herts on the mon itor and play on that herts in game pls reply
You could get high refresh rate on the montior. However I would recommend buying a better laptop that can actually satisfy your monitor before buying the monitor.
i dont get it! i have 120 fps laptop, if i use 240 fps monitor it should run games at 240 fps??
🤔 i want to reduce the load over my laptop, will it work
?
If you have an Nvidia machine, connecting an external monitor will reduce the load on the iGPU, causing less heat and stress on the cpu.
@@BGDave if I don’t bother you, I want to ask a question. I got gtx 1650 Ti, 120 frame rate, if I get 2k and 240 fps monitor. Will I get 240 fps ?
I'm having the same problem with my laptop and I noticed it when I sold my external monitor
Is there anyway to get solve this problem without an external screen ??!
If you have a GSync display, it bypasses Optimus and is connected directly to your GPU.
I tried this and it doesn't help my crappy laptop that much
Should i get an external monitor if i use the monitor for gaming and the laptop screen for stuff like youtube simultaneously
Yes
That would be my recommendation. It is a pretty slick solution.
I have a 300hz 1080p laptop monitor is it worth it buying a 240hz 1080p external monitor? Will I have fps boost or it will still be the same?
Im having 220 to 240 fps in valorant. Will my fps drop or increase if I add a monitor? Or its just a different experience on a 15inches monitor and a 24inches monitor
You will gain an FPS boost from the external monitor. I would go out on a limb and say that you won’t be able to tell the difference between 240 and 300hz to begin, so I would base my decision more off of if you want an external monitor or not, and if you want to use your laptop for a more desktop like experience.
I have ryzen 5 5500u laptop 60hz and gets around 90 fps with one stick of ram, will buying 120 hz monitor useful. Will fps drop and i will get to 120hz right
Buying the monitor and connecting it itself won’t get you above the 120hz mark. I would recommend upgrading your ram to a dual channel kit, this should increase it enough that connecting the monitor allows you to hit the 120fps target.
It's a bad idea in my experience as you laptop will just overheat as cpu an gpu temps sky-rocket an laptop will reboot randomly as it's not designed to game on a larger display at higher resolution
The way I keep my laptop oriented, it still maintains proper cooling, in fact better in most cases because I have something elevating the back off of the desk so it can suck fresh air in easier. As for the display comment, the display size has nothing to do with it. The resolution (as you mentioned) can affect it however, but it doesn’t because the external monitor I have, has the same resolution as my laptop’s internal display, so no issues here. I have been using this setup for years and it has worked beautifully.
except for GTX 1650 mobile, the temps always stay below 70c
You need a cooling pad, it shouldn’t be skyrocketing
Nice video bro but i have a problem. I have a laptop MSI GF63 thin 11UD which have an intern screen 144hz. I bought a msi 170hz gaming monitor but Im stuck at 120hz when I connect the monitor to my laptop. How can i get at least 144 hz ?
Btw the monitor came with a display port cable but the msi laptop doesnt have one :(
hello bro, I have a suggestion to make sure the HDMI port of the laptop with the monitor has the appropriate version
i have the same laptop , i think the hdmi port in this laptop is hdmi 1.4 which delivers max 1080p 120hz .
@@botplays8977 HDMI 2.0 can manage up to 240 hz, 165 hz on 1440p tho? It's probably were the dedicated grafic card is located, or look the version of the port.
@@jasonz.h31 by mistake , I was talking about 1.4
@@botplays8977 In that case your indeed right, dunno what could be the solution if thats the problem, it's key to look the specs of the monitor to match with the device.

But i am getting fps drops when i connect a 165hz monitor to my laptop can it be. The hdmi?
Maybe u have connected to the cpu instead of the gpu. Go to your Nvidia control panel and in the first block, out of the three blue options pick the second one, it will show you if your external monitor is connected to GPU or CPU. (I don't remember what the options were called lol)

If it doesn't have discrete graphics, I don't think so
Hi, I play valorant and got to a rank where I'm at a disadvantage being at 60hz because everyone else have powerful PC's at 240hz. I already get 90-110 fps, And given that external monitors boost FPS I'm hoping to get aroud 130-150fps with the monitor. I don't care about the fps boost, more so just about having more than 60hz for smoother gameplay as it will really help my aim out. If I get an external monitor, do you genuinely feel its far better difference than playing on 60hz? is there any sort of input delay?
I THINK the input lag should be minimal since is a wired connection, also if you have some input lag probably the difference between the input lag of your laptop’s screen is higher than the gamer monitor with the input lag added
I had the opportunity to play in a 144hz display (i’ve been playing on 60hz my whole life) and the difference is huge, above 144hz not really
The difference going from 60-144hz is INSANE. It feels like a whole different game/pc. I do believe you could achieve 144fps with the boost fairly well.
Did you get a monitor? How much fps boost are you getting?
@@anuragmeshram4323 I gained about 20-30fps on average

It all depends on what port your laptop has. Whether it’s display port, hdmi, etc, by connecting to an external monitor you should see an fps boost.

@@androidgk2009 if you go into your Nvidia control panel you can check if your hdmi cable is directly connected to your discrete graphics, if not it’s either because your hdmi port isn’t directly connected into your discrete graphics and you might have to buy a cable to plug into your lightning port which is usually the port that is connected to your discrete graphics. you also have to make sure that the hdmi cable or lightning port to hdmi cable that your using also supports the hz your monitor has. Monitor heartz (htz) has nothing to do with FPS. How do people not know about this 😂.
While that might be true, there is some invalidity of that statement. If you have a LAPTOP that supports Optimus, you will be using extra resources sending frames to the internal display. By disabling Optimus, you don’t have to use the iGPU to send frames to the display. Which in turn means you don’t have to use the system RAM that the iGPU needs to function. Therefore increasing fps ever so slightly. Also, it is hertz (hz), not "heartz (htz)".
@@BGDave fps is the game frames per second, hz, is the monitor frames. It’s completely different. Wouldn’t make sense for the pc GPU to boost the hz up right. Wouldn’t make sense if the hz boost your GPU to.
I know what the difference is. I built my pc. While you’re correct that having a gpu connected to a monitor wouldn’t boost the monitor hz (well actually it does because without a GPU there is no signal to the display), you are incorrect that having a monitor connected to the GPU does not boost frames. You are completely bypassing another part of the computer, therefore freeing up more resources to the game. Refer from 5:32 to see why it happens.

it has nothing to do with nvidia physx))
What I meant to say is PhysX shows you where the port connects to
Don't buy a higher refresh rate monitor if your laptop can't push out more frames than the refresh rate of the monitor.
It's actually a better deal to get a 60hz/75hz one if you struggle with frame rate, as 60 fps will look better on a 60hz monitor than on a 120hz one.
