@@GTXOla omg it worked I fixed the damn thing 😊 thanks to you! it was a different encoder as the wheel is super old. it was a tiny red rectangular object at the end of the wheel's stick, sitting in a bed way too wide. it was constantly moving resulting in the center never staying the same. added some paper to keep it tight and now driving in assetto corsa is so much more enjoyable. 🎉
I had used epoxy to weld the wheel to the shaft like 10 years ago due to drifting causing shaft misalignment issues. 10 years later the wheel developed a crack and now I have a much harder job of replacing it... I'm going to try desolving it in acetone.
@@GTXOla The acetone did better than I thought. Let only the tip of the shaft soak in a bit of of acetone for around 15 minutes and was able to get the epoxy off prying with my nails and some other pieces prying with a flat head then just using a towel to polish the shaft and it was clean and like new. Now I know acetone is very effecting in removing the very tough 2 part epoxy that takes 24 hours to cure and is like steel.
I replaced my encoder with a brass one. I have the G27. It aligns 100% when I plug it into my pc, and in Forza 5. It drives straight. But every other game it doesnt, and it turns real fast in game. Tested with Assetto Corsa, Grid Autosport, Grid Legends.
@@knutcup8426 I have now tested the same driver I have used since 2014 for the G27 and it was no problem at all to load that into win 11. It is a logitech driver s510_x64.
@@GTXOla Thank you, I will continue experimenting. I'm thinking, because I had the thing plugged in at time of software install, I find they say not to plug it in! I will prob wipe my entire comp. to un-install the Logitech driver to start again. Memory doesn't serve me well, I did the same thing 10 or so years ago! :/

Interesting. Did the brass one have the same number of slots as the plastic one?
Dragged mine out of storage, to find out Logitech do not update the driver to Win11, suggestions? anyone?
