    FAQ:
    1. Q: I don't see the wheel settings, I can only see controller settings. What should I do?
    A: Make sure you are entering the settings from your controller. The game will automatically have the settings visible for what you are playing with, so enter the controls using the wheel.
    2. Q: I don't have a G920, will these wheel settings still work for my Thrustmaster, G923, etc?
    A; Yes! Although, they won't be perfect. If you have a different wheel than I do, use these settings as a baseline and go from there. Your preference for how the wheel feels may be different than mine, so make sure you fine tune it to your liking if needed.
    3. Q: Why doesn't my clutch work?
    A: It is just a bug in Horizon 5 right now. I am hoping this gets fixed in a future update. For now, try remapping your clutch pedal. Go to settings and find controls. Then click on clutch and re map it.
    4: Q: What are my GHub Settings?
    A: I am on xbox, so I unfortunately do not have GHub.
    5. Q: My settings show steering sensitivity, what should I set this to?
    A: My wheel does not offer this option, so I unfortunately would not be able to give you a number.
    6. Q: (Xbox only) My wheel feels like it has no force-feedback and is not counter-steering at all, what should I do?
    A: Quick resume causes the wheel and game to glitch. Restart the game and xbox console to fix this. I hope this can be fixed in an update, but for now I am having to restart my game everytime I play because quick resume causes the wheel to lose all feeling.
    7. Q: I want to see more helpful videos just like this, what should I do?
    A: Subscribe to JoyShift! :)
    If you still have additional questions, reply to this and I will be happy to answer!

    All I can say is thank you. I was constantly fighting my wheel out of the box, and even after trying the most popular video's suggestions, I was still struggling a TON. This being my first wheel (the same one you have in the video), I thought I'd made a mistake buying it at first. I thought there'd be no way I could possibly even try getting better if I was struggling so much already. (I'm in a C class vehicle, not super fast so I figured it'd be a good start to learning the wheel)

    Fantastic, thank you so much. I kept vibration and dialed the wheel damper scale all the way up to 2.0. This is me playing for the first time on a wheel and I drove 7 miles on road, highway, streets, and dirt trails all the back, and it felt good. I wasn't drifting and just driving for grip without wearing out the tires as much as possible going as fast as possible.

  • @MrFreakRite
    @MrFreakRite ปีที่แล้ว +15

    A minor note: the clutch should have an inner deadzone of some amount for realism. A real clutch pedal has a certain amount it must be pressed to disengage from the engine, and then on return, re-engage at that same spot. Which by setting the inner dead zone is the same effect. Each car has a different dead zone IRL, so one could set it to whatever they prefer and not take away from realism. But even if someone had a really well built clutch made to engage at the smallest amount of input, I think it would still be a dead zone of Atleast 2%.

      i tried a lot with lower steering angle and played a while at 180° (because im lazy and rowing all the time is annoying) but the game detect it wrong and you cant steer at full angle. you will most likely realize it at S2 races, when the bots take every curve twice as fast as you can.
      maybe its not that worse at 360, there is a difference

    Overall good settings, only problem I’m having is that turning off “Traction Control” makes me spin out on a lot of tight turns. Turning it back on fixes that, at the cost of way less responsive and stiffer steering. It sucks that there’s a trade off regardless of which you use. Any suggestions?

    • @joyshift
      @joyshift  2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      So traction control should not change the steering feel. It will only numb the feel of the car because you are giving the computer more control, instead of letting you have full control over the car. So I would say practice practice practice! Stability control has more to do with spinning out, so play around with that as well

    When igo off road in a rally car, or truck, i need to have a higher road/off road feel. I need to feel what my tires and suspension are doing at all times. And keep in my mind, your average speeds on the straights are going to be HIGH. If you hit ahairpin at the apex, at 40-50 mph, you will DEFINITELY feel it in the wheel. I crank the FF up until the wheel starts clipping, then adjust it down from there.

    What are your global profile settings for the wheel itself? I have a G27 and I had one day this feeling oK and I tried some other recommended settings it its garbage lol to the point I literally could not drive. I was thinking I am going to have to change the wheel from 900 to something lower for this game, as every loss of traction is unrecoverable and results in a spin out.
    Seems your on 900 though... so I will definitly try this.

    I am using a Moza R5 wheel in FH5 right now. I have the wheel set up to where offroad and drifting feels great, but at lower speeds, on asphalt, it feels very loose between the 11:00 and 1:00 range and a complete lack of vibration, or road feel. Once you're up to speed, you can feel the road more and the wheel tightens up, especially when you put load on the tires in a corner, but in a straight line, its quite loose. If I could figure out how to get rid of what feels like that loose and vague feeling at low speeds and tighten up the wheel without feeling like im loosing the ability to counter steer and fight against oversteer, then I'll be golden.
    I also just think the ffb in horizon games is kinda lackluster, so this may just be a negative side effect of getting the ffb to a useable state for drifting/offroad in this game. I REALLY hope that FH6, whenever that's coming, has a revamped and more detailed FFB engine.
    Thanks for the vid though. This was nice to compare to my settings to give me a little bit better idea of what does what. I just kinda adjusted sliders until it worked for me.
