Yes it is worth it. Performance has been improved by CIG since the recording. And I have been able to reduce stuttering by cooling the VRMs. It is something to consider when vastly increasing CPU performance.

@@GTXOla The acetone did better than I thought. Let only the tip of the shaft soak in a bit of of acetone for around 15 minutes and was able to get the epoxy off prying with my nails and some other pieces prying with a flat head then just using a towel to polish the shaft and it was clean and like new. Now I know acetone is very effecting in removing the very tough 2 part epoxy that takes 24 hours to cure and is like steel.

​@@GTXOla omg it worked I fixed the damn thing 😊 thanks to you! it was a different encoder as the wheel is super old. it was a tiny red rectangular object at the end of the wheel's stick, sitting in a bed way too wide. it was constantly moving resulting in the center never staying the same. added some paper to keep it tight and now driving in assetto corsa is so much more enjoyable. 🎉

​@@knutcup8426 I have now tested the same driver I have used since 2014 for the G27 and it was no problem at all to load that into win 11. It is a logitech driver s510_x64.

@@GTXOla Thank you, I will continue experimenting. I'm thinking, because I had the thing plugged in at time of software install, I find they say not to plug it in! I will prob wipe my entire comp. to un-install the Logitech driver to start again. Memory doesn't serve me well, I did the same thing 10 or so years ago! :/

@@GTXOla MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon. I did run Prime95 for an hour and it reached 90C numerous times, which is perfectly fine with me because Prime95 is a torture test and doesn't reflect what normal CPU loads will be, even heavy CPU loads. The purpose of Prime95 is to create a worst case scenario. I didn't pay attention to frequencies during that time, so I can't say how far down it throttled. I'm not too worried about it. I'm also using the Wraith Prism cooler that came with my 2700X, so my temps are in line with AMD specifies here: i.imgur.com/vgRsY4p.jpg Generally speaking I tend to trust the specifications given by the manufacturer. If AMD says a CPU can sustain 90C for long periods of time, and as long as I have a cooler with some thermal paste on my CPU, I just roll with it

@@GTXOla Would upgrading to a 5800X3D from my Ryzen 5 3600 be a noticeable FPS difference for my 1440 gaming? I have a 2070 Super GPU, would a faster CPU create a bottleneck?

@ThePalePatriot We can say for certain that it would make your PC much more capable of handling games. But it depends on the game how noticeable the difference would be. I would recommend it. 👍

True - all games do not benefit the same way from more CPU performance. As shown in the video. But selling your old CPU and upgrading isn't too expensive on the AM4 platform. Right now you should be able to get the 5800X3D and the 5900X for a similar price - just choose the best one for you. 😎

@@GTXOla This is not a good time for upgrading from anything, unless you dont have anything or very old system with low specs. Prices will come down even more soon and new amd gpus are going to relief a lot of new buyers from this ridiculuos situation in terms of pricing. Not mentioning the use market has amazing alternatives. What would you recommend for a 3700x? A 5900x? I am sure about this by looking at lot of games benchmarks these days but you can try. @@GTXOla Exactly what I did, upgraded from 1st gen Zen to Zen 3 and the improvement is unreal, money well spent.

I was in a voice channel on Discord while recording, and video recording(using OBS Streamlabs) is similar to streaming so those thing are accounted for 👍

Not for gaming on a budget, if productivity or encoding is your concern then yes, but he's testing FPS

Yes that used to be the case. But after each clip I show the core usage and it doesn't seem to be an issue.

Yes you are right. I'm running pretty much everything mentioned in the end of the video plus more, and that is why I opted for a 12 core CPU instead of an 8 core. 👍

Considering the 5900X is cheaper than the 5800X3D, it'd make more sense to go with the R9, the extra cores will give you better longevity for the system as a whole. If you're only gaming focused and plan on upgrading within 2 years anyways, you may as well just build a new computer.

@@mattato8272 I agree. In my particular case I think I need the 12 cores more than i need the 3D boost because I am running so much more than just the game. But it would be interesting to see how the 5800X3D would deal with the game plus the extra stuff.

great combo 6800 overclocks a lot more the cpu is fine even with 4090

Hey @Ignacio Calvo, I don't think the USB ports would be fast enough to give you the best gameplay. Also to use the three screens as one in game the graphics card would need to support that configuration.
