  • Dambé is a ancient martial art that was developed by the Hausa people of modern day Nigeria. This system is unique in that only one hand is used for striking while the other is used for defense. While the art does include some kicks and grappling, it is primarily a boxing art. In this video, originally aired at HAMA's 2021 Gathering event, Council Member Altair Santos demonstrates some of the most basic movements in the art.
