The famous gym that the greatest boxing trainer ever lived trained Iron Mike tyson in, has this little views? Plz dont stop uploading. Ever since i watched some of your videos, i started studying Cus and his teachings to Mike. I wished i lived in Catskill, but if i could even pay for some online courses from you, i would. Thank you Carter!
I’m Mexican and 18 started boxing at 17 and I have been doing the peekaboo style since the beginning of the year I felt stuck as if I wasn’t improving I watched countless videos of the peekaboo style stance and footwork but they all say don’t do this and do this and I get confused but I found your videos and I improved thank you Carter im gonna keep practicing the drills you posted on your channel everyday thank you once again💯🙂
I'm 47 yrs of age I'm now learning this peekaboo style boxing I train hard i know I'm old but it definitely keeps me in shape i won't give up i will keep training hard I've been boxing for almost 2 yrs now mike tyson was always my super hero and idol
I'm glad I found you. When I was 8 years old I got my nose broken in a fight and I never recovered mentally. I avoided fights because I was afraid I would get hit in the nose. I wish I would have known about this style. The high hands and the head movement would have given me confidence that I could avoid hits. I'm 40 years old now. But I still want to learn to fight the way Cus taught. But I don't know anywhere they teach this in East Texas.
Quality content right here, thanks for going over the common mistakes and being precise and specific in your explanation of the stance and weight setting
I just learn boxing less than a month. I love mike tyson movement and gus’s teachings. I hope i will gain a lot knowledge from you. Please keep sharing. Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Congratulations man, I'm from Brazil, and maybe I'm the only one who study this style for many years, when I ask about peak a boo here, no one can explain them dont even know the name, them said ooo this mike boxing, but in reality its cus D'Amato style, but I glad who I'm the only one here know and study, I see Ted many times, I study videos from 80' many times, hearing D'Amato many times, and i give you credit because you are in Catskill, congratulations bro
Sir, first I just wanna say I appreciate your videos. I am 37 years old ever. Since I’ve been studying this style. My life is really been different, but he’s a thing now. I am in the gym. I pay for a membership and I really wanna learn what you have to say, and then implement it at the gym and I talk about it with my coach. I don’t know how else to get a hold of you since I try to find an Instagram account but couldn’t , also I have been teaching my children this style. I have two daughters, but like I said, I ran into your channel not too long ago after to studyn Teddy Atlas. Channel but yes, sir man. I wanna learn . And like you said it’s gonna take time time time so I’m ready to learn but also I found out that I can still compete for golden gloves because I’m under 40 years old so yeah, sorry for the long long time Hope to hear from you I would mean a lot.
Man your the best, so young yet a better teacher. I just saw a video by Edwin Martin interviewing George, that guy should not be a trainer. The whole video he kept saying how he doesn’t use Cus’ style and he doesn’t teach it like cus did. he made fun of 20 year olds who come to the gym and want to box saying he asks if they watch boxing, but at the start he said himself he doesn’t like watching boxing because it’s not his ‘thing’, then he says they should learn the footwork quickly but says he doesn’t teach it like cus wanted to. That guy makes no sense I feel like cus and teddy would’ve open and encouraged all ages and backgrounds to learn to box, he seems like he’s stuck in the 80s. Definitely not the D’Amato psychology, they need some new trainers man, would be good for some experienced vets who were under cus to train people not the guys who went for no reason back then.
Haha thank you. George teaches his way, not Cus’s way. He has a lot of fights and Cus liked the way he fought. It’s just different. My goal is to teach exactly how Cus & Teddy taught the fighters back in the day. When I switch over to coaching full time, the gym will get a full revamp and a new stable of fighters all learning properly.
If you don’t have an old punching bag what can we use for our willi bag wich material is Inside the willi bag from you guys in the catskills would be awesome to here about than we can build one
Just wondering what your opinion is on doing this style southpaw iv been able to make a lot of peekaboo techniques work at least what iv imatated but I'm guessing it because I'm already an elusive boxer
Hello Carter, I am just learning how to do this and I really want to get this down. But I don’t have a coach. Is a coach necessary to have in order to train this?
I’m trying to get into peakaboo a little but I’m not sure how to throw combos while moving my head on the bag. Could you make a video on combos perchance?
So when I’m on the outside I put my feet in a 45 degree angle to punch in. Once I get close I square and put my feet forward squared in a more kick boxing (toes forward back a bit fanned, shoulder width, heel toe) stance so I can unload the Willie bag combos. Any thoughts?
Advice for sparring, when I’m throwing punches in this style it feels awkward since I’m only doing the very basics I catch myself throwing my jab without stepping and other small mistakes also in a match I’m not slipping after every punch or it would be predictable so how would I work in that so it can feel more natural
May you write and list all the things you need to completely master this style? like what are the things to get down in this style before you master it? in terms of skill wise
I would like to know if the peekaboo stance works for taller people, I'm 193cm (6.1ft) and I always have this doubt before diving into this style, thank you in advance, your videos are helping a lot!
Im 6’3 an can do it against people same height or taller but if they’re too much shorter they likely won’t be in your weight division anyway to be honest
Got a fight tomorrow, been training this style for a year n change, i have seen much progress but man, when jt comes to the duck it feels so slow but im pretty quick on the feet.
