    Awesome reading! Great work! I'm currently at the point where magic is discussed and wanted to weigh in a bit. I think when considering Africa stories there is tremendous value in imagining them through that indigenous lens. These people today believe in magic. And it's layered for sure. But there are certainly notions of metal proof, bullet proof even medicines. Specific processes, outcomes etc. I think in the end that subject is just outside of Western notions. Some similar types of magic they actually demonstrate. In those cases where these things are demonstrated today I think we enthusiasts of African warfare and history should consider eventually engaging and observing ourselves. The families holding the legacies of these histories are alive and well as entrenched in the magic as ever!

    Great trailer👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!!!!! However, Mali/Songhai is my favorite by far, followed by Nubia/Kemet. Particularly, I love the countries of the Sahel, and I have plans to go to them one day. I don't care for the other countries in Africa. I practice a heavy modified version of Laamb wrestling. I've practiced a modified version of Laamb wrestling for over twenty years. As a lone Sofa Archer, I love this channel, especially if the topic is about Mali/Songhai. FBA all the way, everyday🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!!!!! Yera💧.

    I'm Black American/FBA male. I'm also a Sofa Archer. As the name implies, I am a modern Sofa Archer. "Sofa" is a Mandinka (also known as Mandingo) word for "warrior". Unlike the silly dances you see in reenactment of the Sofa, I do very serious martial arts. I've been practicing a modified version of Laamb wrestling for over 20 years. I mostly practice for self defense. I kinda wanted to do Ngolo, (also known as coperiera) but I really wasn't cut out for it, because the kicks is too acrobatic!!!!! Before I had my hemorrhagic stroke, August 27, 2022, I practiced my unique style of Laamb wrestling on a regular basis. However, I'm walking again now. The only thing that somewhat hindering is my right arm and hand. My leg is also stiff. Even then, I do have movement in my arm and hand, but it's not fully functional for me to really practice with my right arm and hand. It will be corrected soon. FBA all the way, everyday🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!!!!! Yera💧.

    British started fighting against slavery because of the slave breeding farms they started on the East Coast of the U.S. Cheaper to breed than to export. Same thing with the abolitionist, they were business owners from the East Coast fight Southern slave owners because cheap Southern labor was bankrupting business owners. No compassion or change of mind just efficiency of labor....

    Thomas Lockley rewrote the Wikipedia Yasuke to BLACK SAMURAI and used his own publications for publicity. Various of his lies were exposed by the Japanese, and he deleted his SNS and his own interview videos one after another, erasing all traces. Thomas Rockley issued a statement regarding the shutdown of his social networking sites He said, "Due to racist hate from the Japanese, I'm going private for a while." He has fled... his true intentions are unknown.

  • @MMZS528

    joseph bologne was black and a great artist who rivaled Mozart and one of the finest swordsmen of europe, this is most certainly easy to prove. Yasuke however was not a samurai. Questionable at best. Lockley is pulling on the imaginations of people especially black people to sell his book and make money. there are only 3 historical documents or three pages that talk about yasuke's time in japan. the aritfacts however dont conclusively show yasuke. None of them prove he is a samurai. Lockley knows this and tells his japanese audience that his book is only speculation but with westerners especially blacks, he says it with certainty. keep in mind too that he is probably the same guy who edited the wiki. Lockley really seems to enjoy the attention.

    • @ryjitarose5590

      "Only 3 historical documents" You realize that's a lot more than a commoner would have, right? Historians pretty much agree that Yasuke was a samurai based on him receiving fuchi directly under Oda Nobunaga, who is known for being pragmatic and untraditional since he adopted guns and attacked Buddhist temples. Also, samurai weren't anything close to being special during the Sengoku period, just like how knights weren't special

    26:13 Was Yasuke really a bodyguard/soldier when he arrived to Japan? I hardly think so, coz all the pictures we’ve seen is just a Black carrying parasols for portuguese without any swords or weapons..Just like a servant.

    • @rosariums13k19

      @@LionClanChief That Yasuke was a servant of low status is beyond doubt based on the remaining written sources in Japan. The fact that Yasuke was of low status is clear from the name 'Yasuke'. Yasuke's name is short, with two characters in Japanese characters, and he is not given a surname. This is proof of Yasuke's low status. Have you read the Christian missionary records? There it says that black people are 'slaves'. Are you still under the delusion that Thomas Lockley's delusional novel is the 'truth of history'?

    • @ryjitarose5590

      @@rosariums13k19 Wrong again. Yasuke is the surname, his first name is unrecorded. And samurai didn't explicitly need a surname, especially not during the Sengoku period since they weren't anything special. Yayōsu also didn't have a Japanese surname and other Japanese didn't call him "Rodensutain" either. Some people say his name was "Ya Yōsu" but Ya isn't a Japanese surname

  • @rikittfluit

    12:16 Not true. the sword Yasuke given was just a short sword, noting like a Tachi or Katana for Samurai. As a Japanese it make more sense to assume Yasuke was a just retainer, not a Samurai.
