For those who don't have the SHARE partition showing, you might need to allocate a drive letter to that partition to get it to show:
To assign a drive letter in Disk Management, complete the following:
Right-click the drive you would like to change. (find the share partition on your SD card in the list)
Click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
Click Add.
Click the letter you want to use.
Click OK.
Hope this helps!
do you mean the unallocated partition. ive followed 4 tutorials, 2 diff batocera versions, no shared folder, no boot after flash, why is there no simple instructions anywhere.
@@MrMichaelrichards Flash the image to the SD - boot the SD, the SHARE folder will be auto-populated - do a proper shutdown through the menu - pull the SD out and into your mac/pc - drop your stuff - boot the SD in the handheld again - enjoy
tyvm for the update!, I was freaking out aha.
I like the sneaky Retro Game Corp reference. "Yeah Man, I wanna do it!" 😆
That was awesome
Yeah Russ just stopped by to record that for me real quick. What a bro!
haha, I also was expecting that phrase and you actually said it, brilliant.. :D
It’s my favorite thing he says
@@mattys_room_yeah man,_ I love it when he says it
Another great update viddy TD, thanks for keeping us in the know in the realm of improvements.
Your POW-KITTY needs an instagram.
@@TechDweebdoes the Batocera have a media player?
so cool you and russ are collabing!
Outstanding ! Thank you! Up and running with zero issues....
Is Quake working for you? Because its not for me
Is Hdmi out working in this version of Batocera?
"yeah man, I wanna do it" LOVED THIS SHOUT OUT. your a good guy TechDweeb
Zombies Ate My Neighbors was one of my favorite couch coop games growing up, that and Toejam & Earl. Love those games so very much, and it excites me to see you playing them!
This helped a lot. Thanks for this.
OMG, thank you so much for sharing this!!
TechDweeb always makes my day and comes out with good videos. Keep up the good work!❤😃
I installed MinUI on my RG35XX Plus and I honestly haven’t looked back. It’s perfect for me. It’s so streamlined and minimal and stops me tinkering around with the system setting and has actually got me playing games. I know it’s not for everyone, but I highly recommend it if you like clean, minimal UI’s.
Wait.. you actually play games on these systems? I thought we were supposed to tinker with it until it's perfect then buy another device
Thats what I have been doing the last 2 years, now that I have most of the handhelds from Anbernic, Mini Miyoo, Nintendo, AYN/RP, and Valve, I can actually play the games i spent a thousand hours configuring...(yea man, I wanted to do it!) From OnionOS, to GarlicOS, to MinUI, to JELOS, to Batocera, to Emulation Station, to Android/Daijisho, to Adrenaline, to Linux/SteamOS/Proton/EmuDeck/Chimera, emulation is stronger than ever... btw retroachievements is soooooooooooooooo good!@@Micchi-
@@Micchi- oh, I was thinking that's just me… 😀
I like the minimalistic design but not the minimalistic functions like missing support for some systems mainly (no MS-DOS and no Arcade if I remember correctly?). But its greate CFW for all GBs, NES, SNES, Genesis… GarlicOS was nice compromise for RG35XX something between MinUI and Koriki, but for now no real support for RG35XX Plus, so I give Koriki a try definitely.
box art would be nice
great guide video TD
I tried this the other day. It looks great. I love Emulation Station. It needs to be emphasized that this is a relatively early build - there's still some way to go. As much as I liked it, the boot time and a few other omissions stop me from using it yet. Hopefully it wont be too long before it becomes really good.
I agree completely on Anbernics launcher. It's....ok. Hope this gets put onto more devices in the future, I like it! Great review Mr. Dweeb!
My favorite thing about this is that it is about the same dimensions as my phone, and since I have my nose in my phone anyway, it will be helpful with the controls. 😊
Ah man and here I was thinking I had the inside scoop on this! I’m going to add this to my devices for sure.
Loving your videos. ❤️ I won't switch from the stock OS until we get HDMI and BT. Looking forward to feature parity on a custom firmware for my RG35XX Plus.
Beta out today with both those working
Very great video showcasing this custom firmware. I think I'm still just gonna wait on Garlic OS 2.0 to get fully baked. I like the ability to multitask and to just turn the system off while I'm in the middle of a game and being able to turn it back on and it'll boot up right where I left off. But I do understand the appeal of Koriki and if Garlic OS wasn't a thing I'd see myself using this for sure.
Great news. Mine comes Saturday
Love the "yeah man I wanna do it" you guys both have great Content 🥰👍
They really do.
Just picked up the H model with your affiliate link. Thanks for all the work you do!!
Much appreciated! Hope you love it!
can somebody explain where he got the bios files from? if I want to use the tiny best set can i just use the bios files they provide? also, if i have one 128 gb sd card should I even use 2 different ones? and how would I even go about using two different ones, what would the second one have, just folders with roms?
"yeah man, i wanna do it" what a bro
I was waiting to get this until there was custom firmware out. Excited to get it now
it smells like a smash tournament in here
I really enjoyed the Russ jumpscare. 😂 Great video!
Would be nice to see a stock firmware(updated) vs latest Koriki version comparison sometimes soon 🙏
Would be pretty cool if you did a emulation cloud saves tutorial between the steam deck and a gaming pc
Awesome video at first i tought the black version but this one is crisp looking 🔥
Zombies Ate My Neighbors is one of my favorite snes games! I'd totally get this if I didn't already have the RP2s (but I might try to get one for my dad so we can play retro games together!) Great review!
Same! Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Toejam & Earl were/are my 2 favorite coop couch games growing up!!!
3:16 I heard that in both of your voices, 0_0 💚
My first collab with a big-time youtuber 🤩
@@TechDweeb You both did great! :P
So cfw (this and others) are now able to use the gpu for acceleration already for the 35xx plus series?
Are all PSX titles running at 2x (480p) ?
Got a crystal white RG35XX H just like this one. Love the "Amblernic" build quality and the form factor, but this is the second Amblernic device that the stock micro SD card died almost immediately. Replace those cards people! Put in a Sandisk 128GB card with Batocera, now this is my new daily driver.
Finally a review that doesn’t sugarcoat
I think my favorite theme at the moment is Elementarial. Doesn't support my language so I didn't take the internal updater route - instead I download the package and put the fonts I wanted to use in it and then changed the config script to use the fonts. Really working well in my case.
MiyooCFW just added USB Mass storage mode. This means you wouldn’t unplug the card from the device, you would just plug the device directly into the PC to transfer game backups
Is it a fresh install or update via WiFi?
For almost anything Linux-based, there's a pretty good chance it can also be mounted as a disk over wifi, using sshfs. No need to even plug it in.
I’m glad I gave your vids another shot, you’re not doing that unwatchable accent thing. You just gained another subscriber! I’m still waiting for my H, by the way… can’t wait if it’s anything near the old 35XX original.
Thanks for the great video!! How does it work with bluetooth? Does it require mapping all the keys of the BT controller like stockOS?
I would love to be able to play more platforms on my 35xx+, but honestly, MinUI has me hooked on it's ridiculously fast startup and the ability to just press power to shut the device down in the middle of a game, and have it resume instantly on power on.
What’s the case you use cause that fits perfectly
Second! Which case?!
Honestly i love koriki... I have it on a couple of my cheaper handhelds. And it is still being updated which is always a big plus
Congratulations on the video 🤩👍 I have a question, did you test the moonlight in this cfw?
No moonlight yet.
@@TechDweeb I understand, so I'm going to wait a little longer, I hope it's soon because Koriki really is a great system🤩👍
Zombies Ate my Neighbors is one of my top favorite games, it was just fun, new, and tons of characters. I really wish somebody can revive that whole game ground up
I LOVE this game. I bought my 35xx for ZAMN, Earthbound, and Chronotrigger 😅
The RG35XX Plus that I bought after watching your review has been sitting in my cupboard. Finally have a reason to start using it!
likewise im just waiting around for garlic 2.1 to drop... garlic 2.0 is just no where near as good as garlic 1.xx on the og 35xx (non plus) i use my og 35xx all the time still. my plus just collecting dust for now...
Really? What are the os features that you look for compared to stock?
That's a you problem. The games you want to play are just as fun regardless of what OS you're using
Is it an older version of RetroArch than stock? Because some games don't run as good and the stuttering is awful. Tried dolphin blue (atomiswave) yesterday and plays great on stock but not on this. Love the UI especially the jelos-like theme but needs a few fixes still
Great video.
Techdweeb, great review.
Did you ever receive your R36s yet? Patiently waiting. Thanks.
Thanks buddy. Yes I've got it, I played with it a little, but it has to wait its turn because I have some other videos that need to get made first. So many techs, so little time!
@TechDweeb OK good sir. Understood...they pump these retro handhelds at a large rate...When it rains...it pours! Looking forward to it.
Koriki is the way to go!
I burst with laughter with that Russ's cameo.😂😂😂
Hey @TechDweeb
Nice video. it really helps a lot!
One Question, can we just copy paste the Bios files on the device to the new batocera sd card ? does it need some more files or less than those in the original sd card (64gb)? im asking because the folder seems a real mess ( the sd card that comes with ).
Thanks !
i was wondering the same thing, the part where he says a folder for roms and folder for bios, drop the bios in there, he doesnt explain where that bios came from or if we need it from the orignally or what???
@@mrpeanutguy4706ya, that was a crucial step and he says absolutely nothing about it.
As far as I can tell, it doesn't allow vertical arcade games to play sideways, which is a great feature of the stock OS, and a great reason to buy this device. If the developers are reading this, please add this mode. Built in cheats would be nice too. Thanks for the video.
You definitely can. You can even create an automatic 'vertical shooter' game collection. But the screen rotation will have to be done manually (via the retorarch settings). You'll also need to save a vertical arcade control config that you can load up when you start a vert shooter. If you save the game override it'll always be applied when you play that game.
But you're right, it'd be nice if it was included as a default config!
How do I set it up to have my roms on the 2nd sd card slot?
Thanks for the details. I grabbed one from Litnxt and its great.
One question I cannot figure out.. How do I add save states to Koriki ? I see an option to start a save game, but cannot find an answer to this question.
Amazing video! 2 questions, does Bluetooth work for controllers? And hdmi out as well? I'm just wondering if there's any downfalls to switching from the stock os :) for example Saturn, sega cd and ds works perfect on stock os. Thank you!
There was JUST a new update (like 1h ago) that apparently added HDMI & Bluetooth. I'm downloading now :D
@@TechDweebThanks for the video. My microSD card just arrived and I'm gonna test these out.
I know I'm late to this vid but I'm setting up sd cards while I wait for my rg35xx h, and with Koriki can you have the OS only on a card in slot 1 and the roms on a larger card in slot 2? I see you put them on the card with the OS in slot 1 here, wondering if that's for a reason.
I was wondering the same, have you found an answer?
Mine arrived, good pocket gaming on the go.
Do you think the Zassbizle would be comfortable with large hands? Better with the RG353V?
Great video!
Thank you for sharing Batocera with community! I had same frustration with OS and tried to find a replacement. And Batocera looks great!
I am kinda new to this. Could you please explain what BIOS is (in terms of Retro Gaming) Is it required to add bioses after install? Where do I get those?
Thanks!
wow this looks great, i have the 35xx+ and I wanted dreamcast to run just a little bit better I think with flycast and frame skip will really help. Plus this firmware just looks better I plan to use that noir myself! Now the BIOS can I pull the original card that came with the system? Or I have to get bios for all the emulators I install?
Yup you can use the bios that came on the stock SD card, but you'll need to find your own bios for Saturn because that's not included on stock.
What bios files are you adding where do you get these files? I found the reddit website to get all roms I need. Don't know where to get these bios files you need seems like a lot
Hi! Great video! What happens when you plug in the HDMI cable? Does the screen mirror on the device, or only show up on the external monitor? Thanks!
Mirror
How is the battery life with Koriki? I've held off on installing it because I heard that it was pretty bad in early builds
That I didn't test. This was a quick look. I'm gonna play with it for the next few weeks and keep an eye on the updates and I'll make another video if I have new info or some good tricks to share.
I love Koriki and I have installed it on my rg35xx (the first one, not the h or plus model) and it seems like it's quite power-hungry. The battery gets depleted quickly with you. Did you notice the same thing?
Hi, did you managed to resolve NDS emulator controls ? I could not :(
Hello! Incredible review! One question, which firmware you recommend to play n64 games? I do not know if STOCK OS is better o this CFW could give me a huge performance in this plataform. Thank you so much and nice video!
And I just ordered one from Litnxt... Also in clear white. 😁
Happy Borf incoming!
Its crazy how much better these retrohandhelds are with a proper OS. Would this OS work on my Arc-s or does it only work for the 35xx handhelds?
Hey Dweeb, I was wondering if I m able to use a dual micro sd set up with this? one for the os and the other for rom.
I need to find out the same. Any luck?
Shoutout to Zombies Ate My Neighbors! It was my favorite game on SNES when I was younger. Love that you mentioned it lol
They both look so cool, idk which one i would pick up.. maybe both. 😊
What Batocera Bios Pack Verison do you use? there are so many Online...........
It's worth noting that Batocera has a strictly non-commercial license, meaning it would be illegal for it to be shipped with any of these systems by default.
This seems to be primarily because the libretro-based emulators included have non-commercial licenses.
Then again, these companies often are totally fine with shipping ROMs with their devices, so whether they care about legality or not is debatable.
Is there a recently played or game switcher?
hey TechDweeb! watch a lot of youre videos and got myself a rg35xx h, and want to try this. but sins its in beta how easy will it be to update? is it build in or do i have to flash it with a new version and do all of the small twikes all over ?
Just tried Koriki and it seems that I am unable to use the second SD card slot. Neither formatting it from within Batocera and pointing the storage location to it, nor using a preformatted FAT32 SD card seems to work. Dealbreaker for me, to have both the OS and ROMs on the same SD card as shown in the video.
Any advice on whether to snag this device or the RP2S? Can't decide and then also kinda want to get a Miyoo Mini plus just for giggles? Dunno lol Am noob, this'll be my first device. Mainly thinking PS1 gaming
I may be silly - my device arrives tomorrow so I'm just planning what to do!
When I get to the point where I've flashed the Batocera to the car, booted the device and removed the car again, and put it back in the PC to add my ROMS
- What files did you add into the BIOS folder??
Did they come from the original memory card that came with the RG353??
Thank you! ^^
Question if im looking for something that can play just a little bit more than my Miyoo Mini plus would this be a good option? I’ve been hearing pretty much mixed things about PSP and N64 performance and does this os help with performance at all?
Great news and great video, 1 question, can i pass the save states and save files from the Stock OS to the Koriki??
Besides ergonomics, what is the difference between the AG35xx-h and the plus version?
Pretty good review.
I used this os for a week now and two things you could also add.
You could add roms with ssh / ftp software . The default password are root / linux .
Also , dont use eco mode because i find it making snes game sound atrotious like rayman , even worse sometime.
And the sleep mode seems to not work fine for now ( huge batery drainage ) .
Good to know!
they just fixed the eco mode battery drainage today btw lastest update. @@TechDweeb
just set mine up thank you so much techdweeb!
i have problem with bios in batocera cant detect my bios
@1:28 is it only me who hear anberLICK 😂 love your vids and i orderd my anberLICK h model a few days ago 🙂
Have you been able to figure out the button mapping for NDS? I'm having the same issue you did in the video.
Would you reccomend this over the RG405M? I know they different price points, but still im kinda torn 😅
Awesome video! Convinced me to grab one of these and install this firmware! Question, i want to get pico 8 working on here but having trouble getting it set up. I tried looking for guides but the instructions i found were confusing. I dragged the files i purchased in the bios folder but the game crashed and i cant access splore. Any help you can provide??
Does the batocera setup work on the xx or just xx plus ?
Hey techdweeb, when i added playstation and GBA games it says its missing bios files but still plays the games. I tried adding bios files for PS1 but still says they are missing...?
I just picked up the H, how do I know what operating system by device is running? The main screen to mines looks different that yours, thanks
Can you do screenshots and record gameplay for couple of seconds on the RG35xxh and share it ?????
i was reading the notes, does it support the output for HDMI?
Sorry for the stupid question but are the bios files you copy important? And what exactly are the bios files?
Hey man, I'm having a hard time deciding between the RG35XX H or the PowkiddyRGB10 Max 3 (jesus this names) from which Retro Corps recently made a video. I really liked the Powkiddy ergonomics, display and the fact that it uses JelOS with Portmaster available but I wonder how the overall performance would compare between the two consoles.
The Max3 would be much more performant. But the 35XX-H is more pocket friendly. Go for the Max3 if you want in-hand on-couch comfort, go for the 35XX-H if you want pocket-friendly always-with-you fun-little-toy vibes instead. No wrong answer!
@@TechDweeb I went with the clear blue Max 3 😁
I'd really love to know if you prefer this to the X55. I'm down to these two consoles and can't make my mind up. Any advice from yourself or anyone would be appreciated.
Good Gaming Day, retroid pocket 2s vs rg35xx h?? Thanks!
Do you know if the GBC core with this setup has a functioning RTC?
hey hey! is this kiriki still good a few months later? just got my H plus and definitely want to use bato! thanks again!
Does Koriki have the significant battery drain in sleep mode issue like on ArkOS and JelOS?
going to install this on my rg35xx i think
