  • Composition can be very intricate and complicated to explain since it comes from intuition. I walk through the museum looking at how the elements were arranged in terms of value, depth, color and linear layout.
    Thank You Frost Art Museum for putting together this amazing show.

    In a time period where contemporary art is praised; I love seeing someone who still has a passion and love for the old masters. We need another renaissance in modern times, so that we can show people that art is truly beautiful.

    Thank you for being you! I love your "strolls" through galleries and your wonderful explanations of what and why. Now I get it! Really get it, where I struggled before to comprehend, now I can apply what you have explained to canvas. Your teaching style is great! Please keep doing your galleries...they are so loved, as is your art!

    your ideology has really resonated with the way i work, thank you for sharing all your tips and tricks with us. reason why never went to art school was because all the schools here in Puerto Rico pretty much reject the "classical" style of representational drawing, so i took my own route XD cheers!

    I loved looking at the comps in quarters. Thirds confuse me. My eye is everywhere in thirds. I will never look at composition any other way again. Great tips about the cools and the reds and supporting muted colors. Thank you

    Very nice... never thought of that cross idea, also composition depends much about the “historia” or the narrative part, describing what stories are told within the visual vocabulary explains why the painter uses those compositional techniques... they go hand in hand...enjoying these videos👍

    Cesar . . . Speak to us about green . . . the green I see in the cheek of the woman in your first part of your subject in this video. I also see a green cheeked-woman in Boureureau's painting of Grabriel Cot. Can, or will you tell us how this is done . . . which green is used/mixed so that it gives the appearance of flesh, and yet clearly looks green.

    Very nice video. Will you ever give suggestions on composition for portraits (of just one person)? It's hard to find good advice on that, and I don't relate much to tutorials for photographers, the approach of a painter is different. Thanks, if you ever want to take my suggestion, and thanks in any case for your nice channel.

    Visual arts is the oldest of all the art forms? I haven't researched that, but I find it very hard to believe. Visual art is older than singing? Older than somebody beating out a rhythm on a rock? hmmm.... I'm not saying he's definitely wrong, I'm just saying, hmmm....

    • @procrast
      @procrast 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yep, I´m pretty sure music is the 1st art
      tho drawing with a stick on the ground must have happened not too long after beating bones on a rock

    • @artriot4758

      Don't you think people arranged things and ascribed meaning and arrangement to things in their environment?

    • @dragonsong86
      @dragonsong86 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fair point, Art Riot. Possibly, I suppose. I guess it then depends on how loose your definition of art is. And whether people started humming or arranging first, which I reckon we'll never really know. lol

    • @artriot4758
      @artriot4758 6 ปีที่แล้ว
