That is fascinating beyond all reason. The points of the fabric weaving into the tone of the art and bringing out focus and weight to the conceptual theme of the piece, down to the types of folds in the fabric. I knew this existed in writing, but I could never imagine it also in art.
Cesar, you are so poetic, I can listen to your narrative all day...You took me back in time of that painting....your vision is exceptional.....kudos...I love your fun filled accent😊🙏🙏🙏
Fabric folds have always been difficult for me. There are no methods or demonstrations on TH-cam that show painting of folds on a fine art or master level. We need a master level demonstration of fold painting.
I love your videos. I just wish you could add a reference to the painting you are analyzing, like the name and the author, otherwise I find you absolutely great
If you haven't seen the original exhibit at The Ringling Museum of Art, you should. It contains amazing pieces dating back many centuries. If you have an old family Bible illustrated with color plates, chances are you'll find the original versions of those images at the Ringling house. Nice video. :)
you are great !!!no afraid as many so call painters of the ridiculous modern art ,you are no afraid to show your great admiration for the great masters !!and that give you a great knoledge and made of you another master ,because you are!!!
muhlenstedt The author he mentiones is George Bridgman. Fantastic artist and instructor, his books have influenced some major artists, including Cesar Santos. In this video, he is referencing his book ‘Drawing the draped figure’ a lot, but his other books are great too.
lo único que pido en esta vida son subtitulos en español por favor :(. Tu trabajo es grandioso y tus vídeos me han ayudado mucho como artista, tus obras son hermosas.
Great content (as usual). I always learn something from one of your videos. Now for the negative: you should never wear those narrow stripes on camera. They cause that effect known in video as moiré (MWA-ray). I wish my painting were as easy to fix as this technical problem. Thanks for making these videos.
His shirt seems to really be bithering people. It didn't seem to bother me. Wonder what it was with the stripes. I was only paying attention to his face, paintings and the movement of his hands.
Great video. I think the analysis is solid. The shirt you are wearing adds a bit of tension to the painting. Maybe a solid color is better unless that was your intention. Hats off on the quality of your painting!

The juxtaposition of the physical and metaphysical worlds through different approaches to rendering the drapery is eye opening to me. Excellent video
