A friend of mine who plays 76 built his base on one end of a bridge which was the only path to a certain location, i think he said a nuclear reactor or something. And he got contacted by Bethesda to say they were removing his base and locking that location to be non build-able because players had complained they couldnt get there... WASNT THE WHOLE POINT FOR PLAYERS TO MAKE THEIR OWN STORY.

NMS was single player game.
It was better than any MMO by default.
No mans sky had almost identical reviews at launch, anyone saying otherwise is ignoring the fact it took 2 years after launch to get its next set of "launch reviews" on next gen. After giving it 2 years people wanted it to get nominated for awards, and it did get nominated for multiple awards.
The problem is people don't want a repeat of NMS, we don't want developers to release a game in a poor state and then fix it over time and make it into an actual game. So many just shit on it before they play it without giving it a chance to prove it has something.
But its the logic and reviews that have proven how brain-dead the industry is. Many trustworthy review sites and forums say there is nothing to do in fallout 76 yet compare it to nms launch... If you can find 20 hours content at nms launch, you could find 100 in fo76.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is beautiful. RDR 2 is beautiful. Witcher 3 is beautiful. Fallout 4 is slightly above average, running on an outdated engine with serious performance issues.
Well if you put it on ultra and your pc can handle it without losing all of your frames and your game crashing then the lighting looks pretty good but the textures are still from 2011. Yeah you can play it in 4k but it doesn't have 4k textures so what's the point.
@@solarprophet5439 Engine isn't the problem. It's their lack of R&D to keep it up to date. Creation itself is only a bit over 8 years old since they stopped using Gamebryo in 2010 with NV.

I don't know why people expected them to fix anything when there are game breaking glitches in Fallout 4 that they still haven't fixed after 3 years.
Bruh they've re-released Skyrim like 9 times, and their is still bugs on the game from 2011.

@Peter Lustig Bethesda games ever since oblivion have always been like that imo Morrowind was the creative pinnacle and Skyrim it technical pinnacle, its downhill from here. il say only fo3 was close to perfection ( from Bethesda its a good mix of creativity and technical coolness, with none of the repetition oblivion had).
Oblivion and Skyrim start of awesome, they perfect at start, but that is the illusion .Skrim and Obliv get worse as you play. The oblivion gates thing BECAME the most repetitive, boring thing i ever done in a game (but 1st time is fun). The dragon thing also slowly became like that ( after that cool feeling of first meeting). They Overplay their hand and offer nothing else after what you see the 1st 25 minutes. Oblivion should have ONLY had ONE gate each for each city and then one ending gate. NOT Fucking 50!!!. IT is GAME PADDING!!!!
In skyrim dragons should have 50 time more epic and rare. Then theres is the stupid radiant quest they relied on way too heavily. they used repetition to heavily. They needed more hand crafted quests. radiant ai quests doesnt work well imo.
Don't worry go look into warhammer 40k or fantasy, and just hope games workshop won't shit on that more than it already has.
I'm hyped for cyberpunk 2077, but I'm not expecting much.
Not gonna lie, it feels so good that after 15+ years of me being the "old man yelling at clouds" at Bethesda's buggy and messy game that everyone has finally woken up and smelled the bullshit that Bethesda is selling.
I really can't wait to see how this will affect Starfield and TES VI.

The bugginess isn't even the real issue though. It's the fact the game is a copy and paste of fallout 4 with the little substance it had stripped out. It's boring. The bugs are the icing on the cake. With regards to the bugs people have to actually stop and think about how players are able to interact with the world in these games, it's something most other games don't do. The way objects can be dropped and moved around and then stay in the world. When people compared it to games like TW3 it's not an entirely fair comparison because you can't interact with objects in the same way and a lot of the environments in that game actually feel quite static and empty, the one thing I will say about Bethesda games is that the world really does seem alive. That said that is no real excuse for the bugs, the fact they have refused to move to a new engine after all this time, the fact they are copying pasting everything, the fact they are pushing paid mods and the fact that their last two games have been shite.

The New California Mod for Fallout New Vegas is leaps and bounds better than Fallout 76 will ever be and it was created by a handful of Modders. We have Mods on the Horizon like Fallout Miami and they put the actual Games that the developers put out to shame this should not be happening. When enthusiasts have higher quality control than the games creators that should be embarrassing. At least we have Modders who care.

Yup.
I've been arguing against the Bethesda direction of Fallout for years, very few people cared to listen and I usually ended up lambasted with abuse. Fallout 3 was a reskinned TES game, a series which had been dumbed down with every iteration. It stood to reason they'd do the same with Fallout, which is exactly what they did. Fallout 3 was a terrible game as far as I'm concerned, it was buggy as shit on release and filled with bland, samey environments with sub par gameplay and the worlds shortest soundtrack. Bethesda basically shat all over the Fallout lore when they released FO3, them winning the rights to the series was the worst thing that could have happened. Then we had Obsidian's take on New Vegas, which offered a better all round game which actually took the universes lore into account and treated it with some respect. It had a better critical and consumer reception than FO3, so you'd expect Bethesda would take that into account when making the fourth game. Instead of doing that they dumbed the game down even further than anyone thought possible and released yet another horribly buggy and flawed experience.
Meanwhile the brainless Bethesda drones screamed that everyone who disliked FO4 was a hater and that the company could do no wrong. That it didn't matter that they released half arsed buggy pieces of shit, as the modding community would fix everything (like that's a fucking excuse). Guess what assclowns? This is what you get, Fallout 76 is the result of a fan-base gobbling shit and defending a huge corporation that doesn't give a damn about them. You got your online buggy piece of shit Fallout 4 knock off filled with micro-transactions, and the mod community can't fix things for you this time.

Fallout 4 didn't even have a final boss it was that shit!

I remember when bugs used to be so rare in games you had to use game guides to find them like the 4th day glitch in Majora's Mask, nobody knew how to do that until they looked it up, but now its like bugs just throw themselves in your face several times a day, its impossible to play a game normally without anything going wrong these days.

I played bethesda games so much ive emailed bethesda too let them know their strategy guides are wrong (there is 3 alien blasters and a unique in f3, not 2 and a unique). I also pvped on wow for 8 years (2.1k bear). I am physically and mentally designed to stab 13 year olds in the arse, raging on chat. . . I could of fucking dominated entire servers (cocky i know, but im confident in my skills on a bethesda game). But no. . . They manage to fuck this up aswell. . .

People have short memories. Bethesda has sucked for alot longer than fallout 4 and 76. Every game that they have released in the last 15 has needed mod support to go from barely playable to somewhat enjoyable. Dont believe me? Play oblivion, skyrim, or fallout 3 vanilla and tell me that they arent buggy, clunky, mostly linear games where the roleplay is watered down, the endings are binary (or the same), and the actual gameplay is horribly average. Any triple A developer that needs the support of mods to make their games playable are unworthy of the title. When any other company pulls this shit they (rightfully) get called out and ripped apart. But when bethesda does it, its seen as charming and quaint. Only now that theyve milked this cow dry are people finally disillusioned to their bullshit.

ISI-97 if they were honest and sold it for 20 bucks and said they would improve it over time I would have bought it. The no ai was a red flag from the get not to mention the poorly thought out multiplayer options.
MEIJIN44 I think the red flag from the very beginning was the absolute lack of good advertising or direction. Nothing was shown to convince people to buy the game other than “Yeah... this is our next Fallout game, I guess. It comes out next week.” That’s when you know they have no confidence even before release.

So if I don't see hype on a game that practically deserves it I start having suspicions. Also If I see alot of controversy around a game before it starts advertising in general I don't pre-order. I only pre-order games I know I will like. I pre-ordered fallout 76 but cancelled the moment I saw there would be no AI. I am a Kotor fan. Not a call of duty fan. Story is Bethesdas main mission. If they fail that nothing else can push it to success. We all know their engine is dated and we accept their flaws due to the fact we have played games since before 3D was a thing. That said if Their ever was a fallout with Final fantasy graphics I'd buy it pre-order. As long as it wasn't online of course. @@alamoemperor3845 I'm a Bethesda fan. I have completed Fallout 76's main quest and all but 3 side quests. I will not apologise for how fucking awful it is. Even if we ignore the glitches and bugs (any Bethesda fan knew that would be the case), even if we ignore that it is Fallout 4 online (again, many of us knew that as soon as the game was announced) it doesn't excuse the fact it is a terrible game. Thing is, most reviewers haven't gotten as far as I have, but if or when they do you'll be absolutely sickened by what you find. There are a lot less quests overall than any other Bethesda game. And I mean A LOT less. The weapons and armour cap at 50 but you don't and neither do mobs. So basically if you are in the high 70's you are fighting level 80 mobs with level 50 gear. This means more stims are used, more farming for stims, but zero benefit from doing so. No special items, no damage increase. Literally dick all. So there you go, not all of us are apologists. But if you are going to review this (or any online game) you really need to go the full way through or you may not realise that there are far bigger issues with the product than the ones on the surface.

@Aku Funny enough, that's not actually the case. I've infiltrated a facebook grp that sucks Bethesda 24/7. They are mostly adults aged 25-45 with a close to even gender distribution. So no, age is not really a factor. IQ could be though, since most of them type in broken English and generally write like they are having a stroke.

I'm watching this video, coming on 5 years later, and it's actually kind of amazing FO76 is still going. You gotta give it to Bethesda for perseverance. That said, it's still a cash grab. I would be tempted to get it if it was on sale for $5 and didn't need all the little DLCs to really enjoy it.

I really really love the shit out of Fallout and I give a big nope to this. My profile pics I use are from the og Fallout's and I'm currently making mods in Fallout 4 and I still cannot find anything within my soul to care for Fallout 76. Sorry but calling Fallout 76 a Fallout game just isn't right. I'd rather call that game a fanmade Rust clone with a Fallout skin mod made by people who were somewhat ok at making games but not enough so to make an enjoyable one.

Why does Skyrim SE have the same bugs as the original release of Skyrim? Why didn't they patch any of those bugs?

I remember enjoying this game at first. Looking back now, I think it was because I was in denial that I paid full price for an unfinished game. Mind you, this was before I got FFXIV (shocker! A good online game with no predatory monetization and fun gameplay!)
Fallout 76 at launch was also extremely easy because enemies didn't go past level 50(?) for years I think. So if you were say level 60+ like me during that time, you were stuck fighting level 50 and lower enemies. The cryptids were the one thing I was hyped for, only for my immersion to be broken when Mothman fucking T-posed on me to assert dominance over me

If they wanted the players to replace npcs then they should have allowed more than 24 per server. But they can't even get quests to work properly with 24.
TheFriskySquid, they can’t get online to work at all, let alone multiple players. Not to mention having an actual game to play online...
NPCs were obviously needed in 76. You can’t just off that ‘idea’ because it makes the coding complicated...
Bethesda seem to be trapped in this loop of thinking that each game must be bigger than the previous. I'd be much happier if they shrank the map sizes and put out a functioning game

I actually liked Fallout 4...after installing 100500 mods. Half of them being bug and fps fixes. I didnt care about story.

With fallout 4 I end up installing so many mods my pc can't handle it, then I'll install bug and fps fixes. By the time I actually start playing I'll have a minimum of 100-200 mods(not including fan made patches).

Told my friend when 76 was shown off at E3 that it was gonna be shit with no story and no npcs. He went on to insist that bethesda would surely put npcs in the game to the point of lying about things bethesda said. Lol........ poor bastard.

I was so hyped for this game, and I played the game and didn’t get too many bugs... but I still refunded it after the BETA because I couldn’t except the fact that they made a half ass video game even if I did enjoy it, they can’t keep doing shit like this in the future for their money hoarding techniques.

Same, there was some enjoyment to be gotten from it. It wasn't great by any real metric but it was sometimes fun despite the cardboard babies and over-reliance on Radiant quests.
I loved playing fallout 4, but that's just because I got a shit ton of mods, crafted huge settlements, etc etc and I love that sort of stuff. The story was meh, so I can see why people didn't like it.
Personally I loved fallout 4 . Because it was single player!! and I could just mess around and just have fun . But I wont be touching FO76 with a ten foot pole...

I don't think it's laziness as much as it is greed and hubris. Think about this, what percentage of people that play Bethesda games today do you think actually consists of modders and real hardcore fans? I don't have the number off hand but just for the sake of argument even 10% is generous to say the least. That means that they realized at some point that they could make pretty much the same amount of money off of screwing morons over and they would only have to try half as hard to do so. Bethesda has lost it's heart, the real drive that they had to create amazing experiences. Morrowind looked like shit and played like a live action board game but it was the power of intention that made it great. It spoke to the child inside of all of us, it took away the rules and let players do almost anything. Everything since has been a progressive decline in the amount of freedom that the player was allowed to have. Now we are here and now Bethesda is unrecognizable in the face of it's own ideals.
