My best friend's ex-wife was basically like this. She spent his money like water, even after circumstances forced him into a lower-paying job. Then she started hanging out with the trophy husband of a wealthy executive "just as friends" and saying idiotic things like "he's just so much fun because he's able to relax." My friend was like "well shit, I'd relax too if I didn't have any fucking responsibilities and never had to worry about making money." And, of course, he knew she was cheating on him, but he couldn't prove it, so when they got divorced he ended up having to sell his house and give her half the money.
He's way better off now. Got remarried to a much cooler woman and had a kid. But man that was a lousy period in his life.

4:40 My ex wife complained how I "never took her out" I was always working because she couldn't stop spending our money. She refused to live on a budget, refused to keep seperate bank accounts, and more often than not withdrew funds into the negative, and sometimes by the HUNDREDS!
When we went out, I was always the designated driver, she'd get so smashed drunk, it was no longer a date, but babysitting at best, at worst she would get verbally agressive and abusive toward me. When she was sober she'd complain about her ex and harass me for not worrying about the kids as much as she was at the moment.
I worked multiple jobs, and studied online school at night. I was the first one to wake up in the morning and the last one to pass out at night. Making love was like having sex at gunpoint...like Gundam's analogy of "acquiescing to a g-dd-man t-rr-rist with a f-ck-ng nuke." I was relieved on the nights she'd pass out before initiating love-making.
When I left her, she told everyone that I left because I couldn't handle having a job and a family. I have even been temporarily homeless since then, and that period of homelessness was FAR MORE PEACEFUL than any given night with that baffoon.
EDIT: And before you guys start asking "well why didn't you leave sooner" or "well why did you marry her in the first place"... just look up how many men end up in these sort of situations. Better Bachelor covers this sh-t all the time! Obviously if I had known what the outcome was going to look like I never would have married. But then again, my children never would have been born and I live for them. They are my world. I advise single men everywhere to become independently rich and do whatever the hell you want after that. Never let them know how much money you have. EVER!
