    The fact that you can get adaptive cruise and all the latest safety features on the XLT F150 is a game changer in the truck world. It means that Ford recognizes that safety features are not luxury features and shouldnt be restricted to luxury trim levels. That seals the deal for me.

    • @dave3682
      @dave3682 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I agree 100%, though, it would be nice to see Ford extend more safety features even to the base XL trim as both the Nissan Titan and Toyota Tundra come standard with their manufacturers respective safety suites even on the base trim.

      @@brandonmick9191 Yeah but they didn't go up by much. The 2021 F-150 only went up $195 from the base msrp of the 2020 F-150. Going from having no touchscreen in the 2020 XL to an 8" touchscreen standard in the 2021 XL more than makes up for that tiny price increase by itself... Not to mention the fact that you also now get the 10-speed tranny standard as well instead of the 6-speed.

    I purchased a 2021 Ram 1500 Bighorn Sport last month. I traded in a 2014 Ram 1500 Big Horn. The only thing I did to the 2014 other than oil changes was a new battery after 5 years. I put new brakes on after 93,000 miles. I could've went a little longer, at least 100,000. Love the Ram !

    I just purchased a Ford F-150 XLT FX4, and I really like it. I have a 2017 Ram eco diesel that blew an engine at only 83K miles. Ram is going to replace the engine; but I am going to sell it as-soon-as the engine is installed. It blew an engine back in July, and was told by Ram that the ETA on the engine is January 2023. I advise anyone thinking about purchasing a Ram eco diesel to reconsider. Ram has had a lot of engine issues with the eco diesel.

    Two amazing trucks. Both companies deserve some appreciation for what they've gotten to the average buyer (not everyone can spend 60k on a new vehicle). Ford really stepped up their game this year. Honestly for me, I do like RAM more than Ford but I'd personally choose the Ford with the 3.5L EcoBoost over the Hemi since it's more power and better efficiency. You can't go wrong with either of these so it really comes down to what you want and how much you like driving that truck.

    A lot of people love Ford but I just don't have good luck with them. Our first expedition would sit in the driveway and when it rained the lights came on, the radio came on and the windshield wipers would turn on. Constant coil problems. Got a newer expedition. Transmission went out at 60,000 miles. Constant coil problems. When it rained interior lights came on, radio came on. So both leaked water obviously. I don't own the newest trucks but a Ford mechanic said the new motors have constant problems. I still have my old 04 RAM and it's the best truck I've ever had. It is starting to rust above rear wheels though so it's not perfect but it's almost 17 years old. Will look at another RAM in 2021

    Notice the significant sound difference between the two doors closing at 5:50 in the video. The Ford F150 door closes with a very solid sound while the Ram 1500 door sounds like tin when it closes. You really do get a lot for the price of a Ram however the underlying build quality of the Ford simply seems more solid. Rams can be leased at a very reasonable price compared to Ford at the present time. Also, Ram is offering 0% interest and a near 0% money factor (basically a lease interest rate) for leasing. Regardless of the tin sound coming from the Ram, this truck did do extremely well in the IIHS and NHTSA safety rating. Difficult choice between the two IMHO. Depends on your needs and budget along with many other variables.

      I'm in the market right now, and it is a *really* tough decision. There just is no clear winner as far as I can tell. Both consumer reports and repairpal claim RAM has higher long term reliability than F150, but edmunds says F150 is the highest. All I can say is, by every independent measure, tundra lags both ram and f150 in terms of long term reliability, so I am at least able to scratch one off the list, particularly since I really don't need a v8 anyway.

    Had a Ford and it spent more time at the dealers with that eco crap. Have the new ram loaded with the Hemi and will not look back. Wish they boosted the power up on that 5.7 hemi. Little more would help or just go to the 6.4 and drop the 5.7. The Ford had nothing but Engine issues with check engine lights and two turbos in less than a year. Even the mechanic I talked to who worked on my truck said stay away and if you stick with a Ford, pick the 5.0 engine. It’s way better

    The Ford is the way to go. Just make sure you purchase the extended warranty so that when it has problems, you're not burdened by it. It will likely break down and if you're willing to spend 50k on a truck that's known to have issues, then the $3k for a warranty is the way to go.

    • @RealKenzo12

    • @JoseAlvarez-zi8qg

      All trucks have their issues, but the likelihood of breakdown is what differentiates them. 3k for a warranty is a smart purchase, or buy a Tundra. It's due for updates, but they rarely break.
